Honestly, Lila felt that all of this was pointless. There is a reason why Kiryu told her before too despite all his weird fetishes not to bother. Like with Kiryu, Haruka likes her for her. He doesn't care about the superficial things. Though, 'Haruka does appreciate her body,' Lila knew it was just a passing thought. Whenever they are together, he -- her thoughts broke off when she spotted something from the corner of her eye. Lila stood up and walked over. It was a broken heel from a female's shoe.

Haruka brought Rikka-san to the hotel, but still.. 'how much longer can she act nice about this?' Rikka-san isn't a bad person. Lila knew that better than anyone. The girl made a mistake breaking up with Haruka due to Sophia. Lila genuinely felt bad for her, she wanted to give the two space to patch things up. However, it does bother her how close they are. 

Before she went out with Haruka, long before they got married. One of her main insecurities were the words he told her. He told her before that nobody has ever cared for him, or genuinely loved him. No matter how cruel the world is, or harsh his life has been. Lila felt that there was something wrong with his statement.

Surely there is one person, one person who cares about Haruka just as much as her. It took her a long time to find out though. Everybody knew about Haruka being a player. But, when it came to who he actually dated, seldom anybody knew. Lila found it strange though, surely Haruka dating Rikka-san would have made the news? Unless, somebody deliberately blocked it. Maybe she should ask him. 

Lila shook her head, 'No, every time he talked about it. He has that pained expression.' Rikka-san and Haruka had a bad breakup. A bad break up, huh? She picked up her phone on the side. Ah, Kiryu sent a message.

From: Kiryu

So, hey I asked your husband if I could steal you for a bit later. He reluctantly agreed.

Haruka agreed? Lila looked at the screen a few times, before she quickly typed a message.

From: Lila

Um, really?

From: Kiryu

Yeah, I want to give you your present. I'm still at work though. I know it's a bit far, but could you meet me at that park where we had the Christmas live last year?

That park, huh? Lila felt a surge of memories appear in her head. 

Incoming call: Kiryu

Ah!! 

"H--hello?" Lila stammered.

Kiryu laughed, "What's wrong?"

"Um, we haven't spoken on the phone in a long time. I feel nervous."

"Your as honest as ever. So hey, is it fine with you? I asked your husband and he agreed. But if you don't want to meet with me with on Christmas it's fine..."

"Ah, no, I want to! I want to give you something too."

"Mm, I get a gift from you?"

"Ah-huh," Lila played with a strand of her hair. "Hey Kiryu, are you really working?"

Lila sighed, "I thought you'd at least spend it with the others. It's not like they have girlfriends. Why don't you have a small party with them?" She does not like the idea of Kiryu spending Christmas alone. "Ah, isn't the school having a Christmas party? Why don't you go?"

"Well, I would have to put up with my sister then. So, hey you good?"

"I'm a bit worried about you."

Kiryu laughed, "You don't have to. Last year it was the same too. Buried by work."

"No, I'm always worrying about you," Lila corrected.

"What is there to worry about? We can't be a couple. But, I'm still hoping we can be friends. Although, I won't go down easily.." he joked. "I know Lila, no matter what happens you will be here for me. So, you don't have to worry too much. If something does happen, you'll fly to my side won't you?"

"Of course."

"Then, don't worry. We can still talk and you can see me anytime. Just because your married, doesn't mean you can't rely on me."

Ah, that's right. He said something similar before she left to go on her journey. No, the first day they made that connection. "Kiryu, you know there are days I really miss you."

"Me too."

"But, I..."

"Yeah, that's fine too Lila. I told you before, that it doesn't matter who you choose. I won't treat you any differently, you'll always be the brightest star in my heart."

At that comment Lila could no longer take it and burst into tears.

"Hey, don't cry pretty Lila. I'm not there to wipe your tears away."

"Stupid, moron," she mumbled.

"Lila, are you happy?"

"You know I am. I was so excited about this date and boasted about it. You overheard, right?"

"Haruka is working very hard for you."

"Kiryu, you worked hard for me too," she trailed off. "You know, I thought maybe it would be better if I cancelled the date and just worked instead. I didn't think it was fair for you. Last year, we didn't do anything and... I know I'm not making much sense. But, I'm just a bit puzzled Kiryu. For me, you'll always be somebody important. I can't stop myself from worrying and caring about you. Is it weird? Am I acting too flickle? I don't really understand it myself."

"Lila," Kiruu mumbled. "You know I'd rather we have such serious conversations in person."

"I'm sorry for acting so strange Kiryu. Am I troubling you?"

"Your not."

After a few more words with Kiryu, she ended the call and laid down on the bed.

Since earlier she felt a bit strange. Sophia's words kept echoing in her head.
