Dual Cultivation Sect

19 First Round Of Negotiations

That night, Feng finally made his way into an office of sorts next to the dining hall. He wanted to greet these guests separately, so that he held an advantage.

Feng felt that, if he was threatened by a representative, and made a bad decision, that all of his guests might team up and put him in an even worse position. So, by meeting with them one after the other and directing them after away from the dining hall, it would allow him to hold an advantage.

In these representative's eyes, Feng was the local tyrant in this area. Therefore, they would treat him with respect, but might try to put his back against the wall during a dialogue exchange. This was the world of politics, and any advantage one could have, should be utilized!

"Mao, tell Violet to start sending these representative in one by one. By the way, how many have shown themselves?" Feng asked Mao who stood right next to him, acting as his personal guard.

"Master, fifteen representatives have come. They all seem to come from very minor sects within some nearby established cities. However, there is a representative who came from a top five family in a city. Shall I tell Violet to send him in first?" Mao asked.

"No, I want Violet to send in the order of the lowest ranked sects first. If I demonstrate to these representatives that even the most minor of sects deserve my time and will not be counted out, I can win them over easier." Feng said as his eyes glowed.

To Feng, if he was able to, he would rather try and even absorb all fourteen of the more minor sects, instead of working tirelessly to try to possibly win over a higher ranked sect.

The reason was simple, if Feng had enough cultivators, he could build bigger and stronger armies very quickly. To him, one hundred level one ranked cultivators were better to have than a single level two ranked cultivator who needed to be won over.

Feng could distribute his Dual Cultivation Method and advanced techniques to all of the soldiers within his army. With this set up, he could make any normal human into a higher ranked cultivator in a very short period of time.

"Understood." without any hesitation, Mao opened the door and ordered several guards to update Violet and to act as personal escorts for the first representative.

"Ah, you must be Patriarch Feng?" several minutes later a short and balding man walked through the doors. "My name is Boro and I am here on behalf of my sect called D. Smiths Sect. We are a sect that specializes in smithing weapons and armor. We are a sect that consists of only our dwarf clansman."

As he introduced himself, Feng gestured for him to have a seat and respectably poured him a glass of wine.

"I have come here because some stronger sects within the city our sect resides in, are trying to take advantage of our sect. The highest ranked cultivator in our ranks is only at the fifth rank. We were only able to establish ourselves in the city, due to selling so many weapons and armor and not due to our cultivation ranks." Boro continued.

"Although it is risky, our sect has sent many representatives such as myself out into the world to try to find a new home. I understand that these lands are filled with an endless amount of danger, but after researching more on your sect, it seems that you were driven out of your own city. Maybe Patriarch Feng feels similar for your sect as we do ours?" Boro asked as he respectfully took the glass of wine from Feng.

"Yes, we had spent a large amount of funds to hire strong experts, but that turned out to not be very wise. However, now we have our own city built! The heavens always show a path of redemption, wouldn't you agree Boro?" Feng asked with a noble aura.

"Patriarch Feng is very wise indeed." Boro nodded in approval as he sipped his wine.

"So, you have come to me with good intentions, and so, I would like to repay your kindness. How can I do this Boro?" Feng asked as he took a sip of his wine.

"This may be a lot to ask, but, I can convince my sect to move to your city and help support its growth. Given good conditions of course." Boro said while smiling eagerly.

To Boro, Feng seemed to understand his intentions before this conversation even began. It may be possible for his sect to dominate several townships of their own, but it would be much easier joining another sect who has already established a city. Since Feng was kind and was noble with his actions, Boro was convinced that he was not like other local tyrants.

"If your sect is able to help supply our armies with better weapons and armors, we will not only accept you as allies who are also located within our city, but, we will also share many advanced techniques and cultivation methods. Your sect never needs to go into an offensive war, and you could grow yourselves with no worries." after pondering for a moment, Feng finally said his conditions.

To Feng, he would rather have many allies who shared the same goals, instead of a large group of cultivators who only felt used and abused. Since Boro's sect already felt this way in their area, the only way to absorb them, would be to treat them differently.

"With such good conditions, I do not see why the sect elders would not agree. Thank you so much Patriarch Feng." overjoyed, Boro stood up and started to walk out with the guards as his escort.
