Dungeon Master Makeup Money

Lesson 16: The Maze of the Temple

From the 46th to the 50th floor of the basement of the Alistair Labyrinth is Temple Field.

Continue down the aisle surrounded by brick-toned walls to the back of the temple. At the deepest end of each hierarchy is the Transition Magic Formation, which moves to the next hierarchy to proceed with the attack. There is a demon roaming in the temple, wrapped in armor with white wings out of his back, which will slash him from the front with the intruder. In a passage that's not that wide, you can't really avoid a fight.

But with the strength of the Zeons, you can defeat them one-on-one at your leisure, and because of the breadth of the aisle, you can only place one of these.

Depending on the location within the temple, a hall exists. In that case, there's no point in a few favor attacks being attacked in multiple ways and defeated by angel-shaped demons.

So what Melissa, who was in charge of Temple Field, thought was how to stop her legs slightly with a heavier, larger demon. The time you can earn is about a few seconds. However, Melissa decided that these few seconds would live later.

However, this method is trivial.

What Melissa really expected was the structure on the 47th basement floor.

"You're overdoing it."

I shrugged as I watched him attack.

Originally, the 47th basement floor had become a maze surrounded by indestructible walls, helping to stop the feet of adventurers who had broken into the maze in a detour. A place where you even risk starving to death if you break in without preparation.

They, the labyrinth lords, have [maps].

I'm still relying on the map to move on, but I stopped my leg a few times to confirm it.

"Who told you to make it many times bigger than before?

Until yesterday, the maze was as wide as humans could pass with their hands wide open. However, the zeons who are now going through the maze because of the size of only one person were also moving in line.

Newly built aisles. Moreover, even existing passageways had become more complex structures than before by changing their structure.

"Because of this, I have such a convenient substitute, I don't have the hands to not use it."

Maze walls are basically 'indestructible'.

Most importantly, if the Zeons are serious, it is not impossible to destroy them. However, when destroying it, it consumes a lot of magic, so I hesitate to think about what happened earlier.

"I can't believe I prepared this in less than an hour."

I was working on another errand that I was asking to give instructions for structural change.

Now I was back with a break to check my accomplishments.

"Of course, I didn't think about it from the beginning in an hour."

There has always been a vision for the remodeling of the maze.

However, it was not intended to proceed because the magic drain was severe when it was really to be modified.

"I'm going to use this one until it's critical, so I don't mind the amount of wear and tear."

It's more true that we can't afford to think about what's ahead.

"So, it's going to work?

"I've made the maze complicated so that I can get lost. But the majority of those ideas are the way they are if they don't have a [map]."

The maze and [map] are overwhelmingly incompatible.

So, Temple Field felt almost like throwing it away, but Melissa named herself for the remodel because it was the most suitable hierarchy in the labyrinth for stopping.

"However, there are traps that are easy to fall into because you own a [map]"

"Something like that...?

"I just plugged into the first trap"

Watching suspiciously goes the bend.

"Is that...?

However, this one also looks like a quick bend when you check the map.

Right now, the aisle where the Zeons are sitting is followed by a right-turning aisle in front and back. Both corridors continue, but if we're going to get to the far end, we have to go down the back corridor. Even if you continue down the aisle in front of you, you will reach the end of the line in a few minutes.

If there's a map over there, you can see it.

"No, they don't see it"

"Really?

"Yes. Remember when we were attacking the labyrinth over there. You had a map in sight, and you had your current location on the dot."

"Oh."

"So how big was the point indicating your current position?

"It's not even that big."

"I'll change the way I ask. How big was it actually displayed?

The point shown on the simplified map.

When I did compare the actual to the map, the map dots were displayed about two meters in size.

Still, I didn't care because I had no trouble attacking the vast labyrinth.

"Oh, you know what?"

The maze now has a width of about a metre in the aisle.

Thirty centimeters, although the thickness of the wall prevents the sound from being transmitted using special materials and prevents it from breaking.

Depending on the appearance, I don't know which passage I'm going through.

"Your labyrinth can be detailed and expanded, but it's simplified in others' labyrinths."

That's one of the weaknesses of [the map].

"The concern was Mr. Tual's book, but Mr. Dry Ads has destroyed it for me, and I seem to be wary of moving forward as I look at it."

Of course, I look at the book to see which way to go if the tuals are intricately intertwined aisles.

But what they're going on right now is a main road that doesn't exist such as a bend. I wasn't willing to see it until I reached the back of the aisle.

"But what happened to the last bend?

"It's hard to tell on the map."

That's what I'm saying. It reflects the actual maze in the air.

The corner. In front of it is straight ahead, there is a wall, and it is at an end, and it turns to the right. When Melissa manipulates, the wall appears where it was proceeding, and vice versa, the wall that was inhibiting it dives into the ground and disappears.

"It's possible to artificially create an end by moving the walls in and out like this."

"... isn't that against the rules?

As a rule of the labyrinth, it must always be structured to reach the exit.

If I go in and out of the wall like I do now, things won't last until the exit.

"Don't worry. We're able to get to the exit of any route where we have this trick."

"Huh..."

Looking at the map is still too complicated to know how to proceed.

But Melissa seemed to see a way forward even if she changed the structure, and she remembered all of the complicated mazes.

"It's a little cheat, but it's okay because you deal with enemies like that."

I was totally lost watching things for a while.

When I checked the current location in detail on the map, it was too late to return to the original path. However, what lies ahead of us back is the end. So I finally realize what Melissa was doing and break the wall.

"This is our greatest natural enemy."

No trick makes sense if they break the wall.

It is useful in that it is not something that can be used in a row, so it can be worn out.

"No, I'm buying you enough time."

"No, it's only after this that I get the most time"

It is also an assumption for Melissa to realize.

We reach a large space when two hours have passed after proceeding through the maze. It was a place that could be reached from other corridors, where we could rest adequately.

Zeons start preparing for camp in the hall. It was already dark time outside the labyrinth, and by reaching a place where we could rest in the circumstances in which we were proceeding through a narrow space, the tension was resolved and we were to rest in nature and in them.

Still on the 47th floor underground.

Rest was needed somewhere, as it had only reached about half of the total.

"This should buy us some time until about tomorrow morning."

That's all it takes to make money.

"Iris, how's the work going over there?

I've been working next door the whole time, Iris. Ask.

"I see the end because Melissa prepared it for me. It should be over by noon tomorrow."

That's a story if you work without a break.

"You rest somewhere, too. We should be able to afford less time until after noon."

"... it's a story of a labyrinth demon being sacrificed"

"Still, so. If you fall, you may not be able to cope with the unforeseen."

I don't know what will happen.

Still, all I could do was bet there.
