Dungeon Master Makeup Money

Episode 11: Crossing the World

"I see it"

When I used it in the morning to collect everything I needed, it was a trip while looking at the map, so I managed to reach my destination before evening.

"Is this a dimensional relic..."

Looking at the space in front of me is driven by wonders.

It should have been a meadow with nothing when I went through this place on a crusade request a few weeks ago.

But now there was a membrane of light about 4 meters high and 10 meters wide where nothing was supposed to have happened, and there were forests on the other side of the membrane, even though there were ordinary meadows spread out on the outside of the membrane.

Is this membrane the boundary of the world?

"Hi."

Two soldiers stood in front of the border.

Even the Count, as lord of Alistair, has to do something, so the soldier is taking turns to keep the average person from entering without darkness.

"Looks like an adventurer from what I've seen, but is he the one who got the request in the guild?

"Yes, this will prove it"

Show me the requisition you got from Mr. Rooty.

So you convinced me. You paved the way so I could go through.

"Let's go."

Take a step forward to cross the world.

So, a annoying voice echoes in our heads.

'Hey, are you sure you're going?

The identity of the voice is the labyrinth nucleus (dungeon core).

The Labyrinth Nucleus was trying to stop us both now and in this phase of crossing the world.

"There's no way I can refuse a request because I've already accepted it in my guild. Be quiet for a few days."

I don't engage with guys for awhile who take the liberty of peeking into people's privacy.

You're angry that the Sylvias were being peeked at, too. I'm not saying anything.

There are soldiers nearby, so the answer is only in your head.

"Wait, I really apologize..."

The moment we crossed the world, the voice of the labyrinth nucleus was interrupted.

There's no other feeling that I could tell I'd crossed the world, it's just like if I'd walked in the meadows, I'd have moved into the woods at some point.

But I felt like I had lost my eyes on the surveillance and I felt open.

"You decide to head to the ruins for now"

It has not been informed about the detailed location, but there was a huge building about 100 meters ahead of the trees in the woods.

Perhaps that's the dimensional ruin.

"There's a small village."

village, would rather describe it as a town because of its lively business.

The number of adventurers challenging the ruins is about fifty, according to what I heard in the guild.

I was told that a merchant asked by the guild there would be visiting several people for food deliveries, etc.

But in fact, there were nearly a hundred adventurers double in front of the ruins, and merchants were opening dewstores and doing business everywhere. It is still good that food, alcohol and the tools necessary for exploration are sold. The problem is, there's even a tent with hookers.

You do business in a place like this?

With that in mind, Ira slapped me in the back of the head with her sword while I was in the sheath. My status doesn't make me unbearable, but it usually hurts because my opponent's status is higher.

"What are you doing?"

'Cause you're rude to watch.'

"No, I was just wondering if business would normally form in a place like this..."

"Hmm."

I've been waving my sword down again, so now I'll take it with both hands.

"Ira, why don't you get that jealous?

"I'm not jealous of anything..."

"It doesn't make much sense where we denied it because we feel similar. It's worse to hit eight places like this than that."

Ira also has to back off if she gets cautioned by Sylvia and Melissa.

Nevertheless, I have responsibilities, too. Looks like we're gonna have to pay attention ahead of our gaze in the future.

"Whoa, looks like the last adventurer's here."

"Mr. Blaze."

There was a senior adventurer, Mr. Blaze, who looked after him several times if he turned to someone with a familiar voice.

"Did Mr. Blaze also receive a request to investigate the site?

"Oh, we've been on the ground for two days now"

The Alliance speaks out preferentially to powerful parties, but it may not be immediately convenient to receive another request.

However, the date for placing in the ruins was predetermined because the conditions of everyone receiving the request needed to be the same. So even the Blades, who were here two days ago until tomorrow, which is that day, cannot enter the ruins. Our day before yesterday is critical.

"We heard from the Alliance that there was going to be another party to investigate the ruins, didn't you?

"That's right. Mr. Rooty told me yesterday."

"It's a long time ago again."

"Fast?"

"It was a year and a half ago that the site was last confirmed. So, after less than a year of being an adventurer, this is the first time Mars has investigated the ruins."

"Yes."

"Normally, if you're doing your first site survey, you start with things like them."

Those guys - I don't think they're strong enough to be chosen to investigate the ruins if you look in the direction Mr. Blaze showed them. Four adventurers were fighting a wolf-shaped demon they'd never seen. After watching it for a while, it took me a few minutes and I was finally able to knock it down.

"What about them?

"You don't have enough strength to investigate the ruins, but demonic exorcisms are adventurers with as much strength as you can. Outside the ruins, demons usually come out, so it's the first time a merchant or an adventurer's escort has visited the site to investigate their work."

So was there a larger number of adventurers than those chosen for the site survey?

And I also found out what Mr. Blaze was trying to say.

It's been less than a year since I was originally an adventurer. I'm supposed to be a beginner, and this is the first time I'm going to participate in a site survey. Normally, you should be dealing with demons outside, just like them. That's how an adventurer learns to do a site survey. Next time, participate in a site survey.

But Mr. Rooty, who knows what we're capable of, even if it's just one end, skipped the job and turned the site survey around.

Honestly, if it was boring work like hunting demons outside, I would have said no.

"And you're busy telling me it's in front of the ruins."

"Depending on the size of the site, the search may end in a matter of days. So, it takes a few hours from the ruins to the city. Sometimes it takes more time because of the weight if you move the trophy in the carriage. So, even though you can't spend a few days exploring, the loot is an early winner. Then I'll even waste my time going back to the city."

So a merchant is visiting directly to buy it locally.

Even merchants will get better things to negotiate directly on the ground, and the negotiations can be facilitated, although transport costs may be charged.

"So what about those whores?

"I'm in a place like this, albeit for a few days. If you're not entertained, you'll be broke soon."

Which means I'm here because I'm recognized as a business.

"You don't seem to need it."

There were three of my party members ahead of Mr. Blaze's watch.

I would have easily denied it until a few days ago too, but now I can't deny it either because denying it will turn a cold glance from the women.

"Look, what's Blades saying!?

"Wow, it's been a while."

There Mr. Blaze's party member, the wizard Marianne, and the alchemist Lishua, have joined him.

Sylvia and the others greet each other because the same woman showed up.

"Heh, Mars, I was wondering what kind of person you were going to party with, but I didn't think you were going to throw a Harlem party"

"It's a real coincidence."

It's a coincidence that I partied with them, but I didn't mean to party with men from the beginning. My party members mean nature and members become my family. What makes you sad and have to keep a man in your family?

"Uh, yes on this request, but I might have something to do with you, so keep it up."

"Yes, please"

Mr. Marianne shakes hands with the Sylvias.

The moment Melissa and I both shake hands after Ira, Ms. Marianne suddenly pulls her hand.

"What's up?

Mr. Blaze asks how unusual it is.

We don't know what Mr. Marianne was surprised about either - frightened.

"I'm sorry. I'm surprised you had such magic."

"I'm sorry about that. It's a little more magical than people, so maybe I'm a wizard and I reacted."

"That sounds like... 2,000 or something"

I'm sorry. I have over 5,000.

"So I'd like to make sure at the very least, is that the ruin?

"That's right. It's a little big this time."

Behind the woods was a building built up of blocks of stone about thirty meters high.
