Dungeon Master Makeup Money

Episode 14: The Aim of Thieves

It happened suddenly.

The dance is still going on, and all the lighting in the party venue drops when you try to start playing the seventh song.

The party venue was only partially lighted down to make the dance mood, only a little darkened, but now only the moonlight outside is in a state of reliance.

"Hey, what!?

"I can't see anything!

But the only light hasn't even reached far from the window.

Some customers were bothering.

"Is it some kind of performance"

"His Majesty the New Emperor is a rise from adventurers. I'm sure you're good at these surprises."

Some of them were calm.

More noisy than that are all the young people unfamiliar with the place, and the older people with quite a bit of experience were not in a hurry.

Events that were not part of the party's schedule.

You don't have to give me any instructions. Four people surround you to protect me.

"What do you think this means?

"The moonlight is barely in there. If this darkness was meant to happen, it could multiply it by the darkness and do something."

"The most likely culprit..."

I can tell without Melissa telling me.

Thief bat that even sent out a notice.

"Guuuuuuuu..."

I hear men groaning.

Turn your face over there and you'll see someone falling over the top. Looks like an inviting aristocratic man out of his outfit.

It's a dark world where ordinary people don't see anything, but it doesn't become an obstacle to those of us who are used to the diminution of the labyrinth and the travel at night. If you concentrate your consciousness, you can see quite a bit.

A servant approaches beside a fallen aristocratic man.

Even if we don't move, servants everywhere in the venue are moving.

The aroused aristocratic man was passed out or unresponsive.

I remember that face.

"Mr. Garland."

"Do you know him?

"This is the aristocratic man I met when I was looking at the jewels earlier."

Lighting comes back to life.

"Ugh..."

Did you notice by the lights? Recover from stunning.

I don't see anything wrong with my body, though my head is crunching or holding my forehead with my hands.

"Apparently it was a lighting problem..."

"Mi, look!

A woman screams so that she can wear it on Ira's voice.

A young nobleman's voice echoes in the brightened and calm party venue.

The noble lady is pointing in a direction with a balcony, and the consciousness of the people in the venue goes that way.

"That's..."

On the balcony handrail stood a black cape with a black silk hat and a black mask shaped to remind me of the wings.

It is a famous story in Teito that there are thieves targeting items to be auctioned.

- Thief bat.

Everyone in the venue associates the name.

A few of the guests invited to the party expected a burglar bat to appear as a spectacle.

"A foolish nobleman who indulges in luxury without even knowing the hardships of his inhabitants. I will take from you the treasure you hold dear."

Put up the ring that the burglar bat had in his hand hidden inside the cape.

The ring was small, but the luminous gemstone emitted a presence in the wake of the moonlight.

I recognize that ring. That's the ring Mr. Garland said he inherited from his ancestors.

"Hey, no!? I don't have a family heirloom ring!

When I confirm that there is no ring on my finger, I rush through my pockets and check the floor to see if I dropped it when I fell.

Still, if I don't find it, I realize it was stolen by a thief.

"Ha-ha-ha, goodbye"

Jumping up from the balcony, the Thief Bat disappears into the darkness of the Empire City.

I don't imitate anyone chasing after too flashy an appearance.

"... Sylvia, get the killer"

"Yes!"

Sylvia, who was listening to Mr. Garland, knows how much he cared about the family heirloom ring.

The killer chases after him without forgiveness.

There are many people at the party venue. Scratching the crowd...... standing on the balcony where the thief bat was while rubbing through, he jumps and disappears into the Imperial City.

You can leave the killer to Sylvia.

"Are you all right?

Close to Mr. Garland, who is pale in the face and stares at the vanishing direction of the thief bat. Someone can't blame me for hiding the signs.

Mr. Garland is so pale that he is likely to fall down now.

"Ya, please! Get my family heirloom ring back! I'll pay you as much as I want."

"Regarding the reward, fine."

The emperor has already asked me to capture the thief bat.

After this, if the victim also gets paid, he will have worked illegally.

"I can't face your ancestors if I know I lost that one..."

"I'm fine. Sir Ament."

"Your Majesty."

"Hang on to the imperial prestige about the stolen ring and be sure to get it back. Plus, it can't be tolerable to work a grand steal at a party I host. So I want you to wait in peace"

"Please"

Even if the party has a dedicated servant, no one has an escort.

That's because I don't trust the Emperor's power if he keeps his own escort at parties hosted by the new emperor, which would be like saying.

I am trusted by those who do not have escorts.

You can't not be angry because it takes the form of being made unimpeded.

"You're right to ask. Follow the thief who escaped from Imperial Castle."

Instruct the soldier Rio was guarding the party venue.

"But then the security of the party venue will be diminished."

"You just have to leave a minimum number of people at the party venue. Catching a thief as soon as possible is a priority now. I need backup from those waiting at the clock to guard the venue."

"Ha."

A soldier leaves the party venue and pursues a thief.

One of the other servants was rushing out somewhere. If you just call for backup, you don't have to be a soldier with the power to fight.

"Thieves are after my people, too. More than that, it was stolen from the index finger on your right hand."

"That's right. I don't think the others could tell, but I've seen my father fit in many times since I was young, and these are the rings that have been on my fingers all these years. The thief was definitely in our family heirloom."

I assure you it's my ring, Mr. Garland.

Rio is smiling bitterly when he was listening to the words.

I just want to smile bitterly because I know why, too, but I put up with him because he's poking me in the face.

"I'm sorry to leave it to Sylvia alone. We're going after them too."

"Yes."

After the party venue.

Exit properly through the entrance and exit without imitating like Sylvia jumping off the balcony.

Where he left the castle, soldiers were rushing around trying to get out to Empire City.

The burglar bat disappeared into a wide Imperial capital.

I have no idea where to look.

However, being a labyrinth owner, I know exactly where Sylvia is now, a labyrinth family member who chased a burglar bat.

I had already flown around over a residential area quite far from Imperial Castle, and when I let them share my sight, I was in battle.

Do not go toward Sylvia, but approach the aligned soldiers.

"Where are you headed?

"Let Sylvia take care of the burglar captivity. We're collecting the ring."

I thought I was looking for an item to be auctioned off from a notice of the robbery.

In fact, however, it steals out the rings worn by the nobles gathered for the items to be auctioned, multiplied by the darkness.

"Absolutely... it doesn't make sense for you to look at the items on display."

"Right."

"What was our struggle"

The same was true of knowing the value, but it also made sense to prepare for when it was stolen by a thief.

To know the current location of the item after it was stolen.

"May I have a word?

"What is it?

The response of the busy soldier was unsatisfactory.

I can't even look noble because I'm an invitee to a party in a suit or dress, but I'm convinced that's all I'm busy with.

"Don't you want to know the current location of the stolen ring?

"I want to know..."

"I have a handy tool for looking for things."
