Dungeon Master Makeup Money

Lesson 5: The Distress of the Receptionist

Three days after the shock was reported.

"Good Morning"

Ruti, the receptionist for the Adventurer's Guild, stood with the necessary materials for this request as she headed to the city's North Gate, the meeting place for this request, early in the morning.

Next door, a girl of the same age as us was diligently checking the contents of the material.

"Nice to meet you today"

I greet Mr. Rooty, who has waited for me from an early hour.

"Nice to meet you all"

I will also say hello to the two groups of parties that were here first because this request will be made together with the other parties.

"Oh, please!

"Say hello."

The greeted adventurer returned a bright greeting, although one looked nervous.

"See, you say hello too"

"Huh...!

The girl next door also looked up as if she finally realized we were here.

"Nice to meet you...!

Follow me and say hello.

I was a newbie who had seen me at the Adventurer Guild reception several times before, but this was the first time I had ever exchanged words.

"I will be able to work in the Adventurer's Guild from the fall, I say Rosetta."

"Huh."

Rosetta, looking nervous, comes close and holds his hand.

"I finally got to meet Mr. Mars"

"Uh..."

"You're one of my oldest, and you're one of the best adventurers I've ever been, and you've run all the way up to A-rank."

"Probably, yes"

I'm not wrong.

But it's hard to affirm when told in an excited way like the girl in front of you.

"It's good to see you. Nice to meet you today."

"Say hello."

Rosetta offered me her hand, so I shook it.

"Excuse me, I'm a newbie, so I have an admiration for those who have grown up young."

"What are you talking about, Senior Luti? When it comes to the ambitions of the Adventurer Guild receptionist, it's about catching and feeding adventurers who have a lot of money."

"... right"

Mr. Rooty did not deny Rosetta's theory of power.

Looks like I'm pretty sure there's a receptionist like that.

"Best wishes to all five of you today... is that it?

I realized there wasn't enough of one Mr. Rooty who was checking on us.

"What happened to Mr. Ira? Are you ill?

"Right. In a way, I'm ill."

Ira would be required to attend as she is attending a request at a party.

So I must also tell Mr Rooty why he is not here.

"Liar......!

He held his mouth with his hand when he told him why he was not joining. Sylvia is retrieving the material she had on that clap because it fell to the ground.

"Childbirth in teens..."

"Mr. Rooty?

"Oh my God, I'm 27 years old already..."

"Senior?"

I haven't heard a call from me or Rosetta.

"Um..."

Wave in front of Mr. Rooty's face.

But I didn't see it or didn't respond at all.

I had no choice but to pull my hand in and it grabbed me gassy.

"Huh...?

"Mr. Mars, please take me too!

I come close to my face with an impatient look.

"Ha!?

"I worked as a receptionist for the Adventurers Guild as early as ten years. When I realized it, I was already 27. Even though I'm old enough to have to think about marriage and childbirth, I can't catch a man with good conditions. But, Mars, you wouldn't have a problem if you didn't even care about your age. What do you say? Mars, if your assets are such that you can provide for another person, and here is one sister..."

"Yes, that's it"

Sylvia and Illis pull me away.

I've never seen such a Mr. Rooty before.

I accidentally hide behind the remaining Melissa.

"Ha, sorry"

"It's okay."

I'm responding to Rosetta, who Melissa came to apologize for instead.

"Looks like Mr. Rooty's in a hurry."

"Actually, I had a veteran who quit to replace me, but because he quit more, his senior became the oldest of the receptionists. Other seniors pointed that out when they were drinking at the end of the year..."

They made me cry.

Since then, the topic of age in front of Mr. Routie has become taboo among receptionists.

"You can't even talk about marriage or childbirth after that."

Rosetta is taking out her own notebook and making notes.

I guess you're going to report it to the other receptionists later.

"It's just not what you said or a joke, is it?"

Gashy now Rosette even grabbed my hand.

"Mr. Mars would run for daughter-in-law too. I'm definitely better off near my age than an older senior like that."

Is the receptionist after an adventurer with no leaks?

Receptionists are basically just beautiful people like Rosetta's cute daughters and Mr. Rooty because they are arguably faces to the Alliance.

For this reason it has been approached many times by adventurers with a lot of rough men.

However, if the receptionist also chooses, he prefers successful adventurers, so he chooses someone who responds to the approach.

So, I'm satisfied with Mr. Rooty and Rosetta's terms.

... I have the money.

"What are you talking about?"

"Ouch!"

Mr. Rooty, who was back, was slapping Rosetta on the head.

"Our new staff has been rude"

"No......"

You were the one who was throwing up paranoia first.

I couldn't say...

Sylvia and Illis behind Mr. Routie are also grinning bitterly.

"Uh, I'm glad Mr. Ira's resting for a while."

"Right. I'm not going to let you take the request."

Ira made me ban her activities as an adventurer altogether because she was worried that she was going to take on the request without even realizing how ill she was feeling so that she didn't even notice her pregnancy.

Naturally, Ira disagreed with it. Apparently, if you're not moving your body, your body will become dull, which can cause you to be stressed and, conversely, you'll feel ill.

I had no choice but to allow light exercise in the labyrinth. There, demons come out and are inherently dangerous places, but as long as [Labyrinth Adaptation] is used, demons will never strike, so the environment is always constant, making it safer on the contrary than on the ground.

"Okay. I'll be registering as a foursome party for a while."

Write to the material at hand that Ira will not participate.

"Ah, looks like you've finally got the other two pairs"

Looking back, I see eight adventurers proceeding at the city's north gate.

Apparently, the remaining two sets of parties finally showed up.

Hey, you're Malus.

If any of the adventurers who came here had a leader-like opponent approaching them, they would have told me that.

"Yeah, but?

It must be the first time you've met someone.

The border brings out various demons, and there are labyrinths nearby, and there are quite a few adventurers in Alistair. Plus, there are a number of adventurers who retire from injury and lack of strength when new adventurers come along who overconfident themselves, as they do every year.

I know a lot of people, but I can't help but know about the man in front of me because I don't know everyone.

"Looks like we got a little lucky so we could be active in the war and be A-ranked, but there's no way a guy like you who looks weak could easily be A-ranked. I'll peel your face off."

"Mr. Geesh!

"Chip."

I take the seven adventurers away with my tongue pounding with Mr. Routie's attention.

"I'm sorry. Mr. Geesh is a D-rank adventurer and his strength is there, but he's been smoking for years without being able to get up to the C-rank because of his poor bareback. It's like you're eyeing Mr. Mars, who was easily ranked up because of it."

I see what's going on.

I mean, he's jealous of me for quickly climbing the ranks.

In fact, thanks to being a Labyrinth Master, you don't have to say anything from me.

"Now - I would like to explain the request again"
