Lesson 6: The First King's Capital

When I arrived in King's Capital, I asked Viscount Wayne to see me and I could meet him within that day.

He was led to the reception room, where a man with bright golden hair appeared as he sat on the couch and waited. Unlike the aristocracy we met along the way, the disappointing and strong body was exuberant. Somehow, but I guess he's the same and brilliant aristocrat as Count Alistair.

"Now, you're saying there's a delivery from Count Alistair?

Despite the deliveries, you must have wondered when you saw me in the bare hands.

"Yes, this is what Count Alistair left you."

Though surprised by the phenomenon of things suddenly appearing where there is nothing, he quickly regains calm and receives crystal balls and letters placed on the table.

"I did receive it. I will write back to you later, so I would like you to complete the request with it."

"Thank you"

This completes the request from Count Alistair.

Check the contents of the letter and Viscount Wayne reaches for tea.

"Do you know what this magic tool (magic item) is?

"No, the Count only tells me he wants it delivered, so I haven't asked you about the details"

"Right. Then let me tell you something. This is what my ancestors discovered in the labyrinth, a magical tool to see the future."

"Is that okay? Can I tell someone like me that I own something of such value?

If we can really see the future, its value is immeasurable.

Even though they are more valuable than themselves, they cannot be lent.

"Not everyone can use it when they say they see the future. Conditions of use can only be used by those with territory, which tells us about the crisis visiting the territory."

I see.

Is there a limited range of effects with the user?

"They've used it before for the Count, and they've seen a future that's not good at that time"

Well, any future wouldn't be good if the sight to show was a territorial crisis.

"But about half a month ago, I asked to use it again, so I lent it to you, but apparently the future has moved towards the better."

"To the better, is it?

"The future is not constant. I suppose Count Alistair thought that some change had come to the future as a result of the appearance of a being named you, thinking of timing, etc. And that prediction seemed to have been met. The letter said thank you for lending me magic tools."

"Speaking of which, how do you relate to Count Alistair?

"It's not like it's a special pattern. At the same age as going to aristocratic school...... in a nutshell, you're my friend. I'm the second son, and my brother inherits the territory, so I work all sorts of jobs in the capital."

"Are you a friend, nice"

There was someone in the village who could be called a friend, but now I don't feel like calling him a friend.

Speaking of which, since you came to Alistair's city, there's never been anything like going out and hanging out with friends, even if you have to work or talk to senior adventurers and peers your age.

Should I play for a second?

The request was over but I didn't return soon, and I was exploring the city of Wangdu to find something to hobby about.

After all, it was crowded with many people just because it was called Wang Du.

I was also surprised by the number of people when I came out of the village to the city, but more than then I was overflowing with people.

"Auntie, what is this?

"Oh, this is the most popular sweet thing in the King's Capital right now."

I discovered an outdoor shop where sweets encrusted with fruit and cream were sold in thin skins.

Try one and try it - it's delicious.

"Now you can even make something like this."

Thanks to the tuning of the senses at the moment of eating, only deliciousness was also transmitted to the nucleus of the labyrinth.

When the labyrinth lord who was the source of his personality lived, outside the labyrinth he also had trouble eating because of the catastrophe, and the only food he could get in the labyrinth was to live his days. That's why I couldn't eat such sweet food or anything.

"Auntie, I wonder if you could give me four of the same things as this"

"Yes, sir."

When you pay for it, you put the sweets you made in the storage ring.

I also don't have a hard time bringing food back to my souvenir thanks to the storage ring.

"But some of the kings have changed, and others haven't."

The nostalgic voice of the labyrinth nucleus echoes in my head.

"You've been here before?

There are plenty of people around, but there is nothing to blame for pronouncing words that only sound solitary in the crowd because of too many.

'Cause all the labyrinth lords of history are here once. So the last time I came here was over 200 years ago? They still have the same buildings, and the Royal Castle has been using the same objects since it was a maze owner two generations ago. "

Unless it's something special, it won't imitate moving a royal castle in the king's capital as a symbol of the country.

What changed would still be like fashionable food, like the sweets I had earlier. Even things that weren't there at the time change after hundreds of years.

"It's just that places like this don't change much."

At the end of my gaze, there is a path that leads to the alley, which is still less where you can see it from the main street, but you can also see the feet of a floater lying down from where you can see it from me.

"Is that a slum? I knew there was one in Wangdu."

There was also a place in Alistair's city where humans lost their way on a small scale.

My predecessors told me that the Count also seemed to be trying to mediate work or build an orphanage to save orphans, but that there were people out there who would really stick out of the boundaries of society, a situation in which policies had not followed.

For this reason, I was taught that the existence of slums is not a welcome place, but it must also be for them.

'I don't have a choice. There is a limit to the number of people who can feed even a huge city like Wang Du. Nonetheless, people come to the Wang capital from the next to the next. These are the places where people fall from the receptacle.'

I want to do something for you.

I'm also the manager of the labyrinth, which was a facility for rescuing people in need. But there's too little I can do.

"Go."

'Right. I don't know what else to do here. "

Try not to look at it and turn your gaze toward the bustling place of the Wang capital.

"Oh?"

Just before, I noticed something about the labyrinth nucleus.

"What's up?

"A girl just ran through the alley"

"What?"

I was concerned about the words said to the labyrinth nucleus, and when I turned my gaze toward the alley, not the girl, but two trained men ran through it.

If you think about the situation, it would be where two guys are chasing girls.

'Sounds interesting. Let's have a look.'

"What? Obviously, it was a troublesome situation."

'It's a little event. Let's just go check it out ~'

He invites me to a terrible crush.

This guy is trying to get me involved in an event that looks interesting from me by smelling trouble. Obvious spare time. It's hard for me to give up when this happens.

"I get it. I guess we should just go."

"Exactly."

When I go into the alley, listening to my joyful voice, the men run in the direction they went, and so do I.

The three in question were quickly found.

"Geez."

"Damn it, let me trick you."

"You're gonna get this pain because you're gonna run away."

After all, it seems that the girl was running away from the men, caught by the men of what ran into the alley and was being pushed against the wall.

The girl was about my age, aligning her golden hair around her shoulders and braiding her right side.

I have a gaze with a girl like that.

When the girl's blue eyes catch me, the girl screams.

"Please, help me!

The guys also seem to have noticed that I'm nearby by the scream of the girl and turn around with the girl pressed.

Communicate your position clearly so that you can tell those two.

"Oh, I don't like it..."
