Lesson 10: The Northernmost Village

The next morning, I leave Urca.

Today's destination is a village in the closest proximity to the mountains… a village that has rightly become the closest proximity.

Previously, the nearest village had been destroyed by dragon raids.

As a result, the village that was now in front of it is now nearest.

And it was used as a stronghold for those who guarded the dragon.

The purpose of the visit was to gather information.

"Wow, those are the ones who defeated the dragon you flew to Urca."

A man with a sword greeted me as I entered the tavern to gather information.

When it comes to gathering information, the tavern. I don't usually stop by because I can't drink, but I can't leave gathering information in a rough liquor store to the women... even though I'm worried and they're all here.

"You know me well."

"Yesterday, the Urkahedragon flew away because I could see it from here."

I tried to rush to the rescue.

But by the time I left the village, there was nothing like coming to Urca because the fighting was already over.

Still, it doesn't change that it is an anomaly, so I sent out a horse to gather information and went to gather information. So he seemed to be rushing back to find out about us and let his people know.

"I'm here, Chemil, acting as a wrap-up for the adventurers."

"It's Malus the Adventurer."

"The salutation is nashi. I'm sure I'm older, but I appreciate the hero who saved my hometown of Urca. I don't want such a guy to use a tough tribute. Instead, as much as I'd like to honor you, we're not good at it."

"If that's the case"

There was a request from the other side, so I'll switch.

"You stopped by because you wanted information about the Northwell Mountains."

"Correct"

We don't know anything about the mountains.

For once, I heard what information I could get in the Adventurer Guild within yesterday. Still, the closest place to the mountain range gets fresher information.

"I've got a quick map of the mountains in the Adventurers Guild"

The Noswell Mountains are home to several mountains and the ocean stretches across them. However, we have not been able to view the sea from this side due to the continuation of the rugged mountains. We were only able to confirm the mountains cut off from the seaside.

"The Alliance is pretty excited, too."

Maps are expensive substitutes, and the more accurate they are, the more valuable they become.

The map we gave away is precise among the maps held by the Alliance, with fine topography. There is something that depicts information about demons that appear to be more detailed maps than this, but this time it is fine with the maps I received because I don't need them.

"It's just that this map is old"

"Old?"

The terrain is not easy to change.

Except for massive crust fluctuations and disasters, which I haven't heard of recently, such as enough disasters to change the terrain.

It's a disaster. They're...

They mean dragons.

"I don't know what happened. But there were two big craters in the mountains."

According to Chemil, the dragons fought each other.

The idea is probably not wrong. Dragons from the north are defeating dragons that were originally there to boast of their power. Maybe it's a crater made of that battle.

"The trouble is that there are dragons living there that look like shit"

Craters exist in two places in front and back.

And there's a silver dragon sitting in the crater in front, and a gold dragon sitting in the crater in the back.

According to reports of scouts watching the dragon, the two dragons sitting there never move like watchdogs, and they're always on guard outside the crater. And if anyone approaches the crater, he's killing it without moving off the spot.

This information was also obtained with danger. Anyway, the dragons in the crater are aware that there are people watching them. I am aware of it and I decide it is not a threat and leave it alone.

But no matter how little it wasn't a threat, if it was closer than constant, it would surely kill you.

Surveillance continued in critical places not to be slaughtered to gather information.

"They're killing the demons that were in the mountains next. Some demons have a strong sense of companionship. These people have fought to avenge their fellow men without worrying about their differences in strength."

But there's no way a normal demon can beat a dragon.

As a result, the demons that were in the mountain range have already been reduced to close to extinction.

"I have no problem with demons because if you leave them alone for a while, they will increase. But it's dangerous to leave such a dangerous existence alone."

So even with the danger involved, the scouts are gathering information.

And with what we've done to the foot, which is likely to bring down the dragon today, the Chemils, the adventurers, decided to bet on me.

"If you have any information you want to know, I'll tell you everything we know. And if you say you need a porter to carry food, you can get a healthy guy out of us for free. So make sure you save our hometown."

Chemil bows her head.

That figure was really serious and he wanted me to help his hometown from the bottom of his heart.

Adventurers basically move on the profit and loss account. There's nothing like taking a request without profit, and it's normal to avoid a dangerous request that could cost you your life even if it's profitable.

Even though he knew those circumstances, Chemil hoped.

Emotions have boiled over ignoring profits without a pattern.

"We don't need luggage carriers (porters) because we have magic tools for storage (magic items). However, I'm unfamiliar with mountain ranges, so I'd like to ask someone for directions to the crater. But I can't be held responsible for being involved in a fight because it's a fight with a dragon. Can't you ask the guy who's ready for that?

"Sure, I don't mind if that's about it"

One young man named Ricky was to be in charge of directions in Chemil's introduction.

Ricky had such a small physique that he didn't seem like an ordinary young man and adventurer like anywhere else.

"I'm confident that even the dragon will escape because I'm confident in what I'm doing."

I smiled and said it out like that.

Then let's rely on him for directions.

"It's already past noon. We need to camp on the way in now when we get into the mountains. If that's the case, you should rest here and leave early tomorrow morning."

I have no reason to disagree with Chemil's suggestion, so I decided to rest in the village before leaving.

But they're not going to let him rest over there.

"What's up?

Sylvia was staring out of the tavern.

North of the village, to be exact.

"... something will come"

Everyone figured it out, even if it wasn't Sylvia.

"What?"

"Earthquake, huh?"

The ground was shaking.

"No, you don't"

It's a different way to shake than an earthquake.

The ground sounds coming from somewhere far away.

"Aah!"

"I'm out!

I hear screams coming from outside the tavern.

"Mr. Chemil!

There was an adventurer rushing right into the tavern.

I came to call Chemil, the leader in case of an emergency.

"Apparently the enemy has given us a warm welcome"

A calm chemil goes outside as opposed to a hasty adventurer.

We also accidentally lost our word when we followed Chemil out of the tavern and looked north with the mountains.

A brown dragon like a tortoise was running down the slopes of the rock skin.

"Land Dragon."

A similar dragon is coming towards the village, although not as big as the cartea we have seen before in the Glenvarga Empire.
