Duskaea and the Fatum Family

12 A Despairing Divulgence

•Serus' P.O.V.•

"Serus!" I heard someone, screaming my name.

"Wake up!" they continued.

I am in a pitch-black space, where nothing appears. I remember.....being thrown into the sea by Rhys, but after that, I don't remember anything else.

"Serus." the Phoenix appeared.

"The Leviathan seemed to had escape his prison inside you, and fortunately, he's still weak and got imprisoned again." it continued.

"Imprisoned? I thought you all willingly want to help me?" I asked.

"We are, but Leviathan has something that the others and I don't have." it answered.

"What do you mean?" I queried.

"Leviathan has the most persistent memory among all of us legendary creatures. I don't know what I'm talking about, but that's what the others told me." it said.

"I wish to have a conversation with Leviathan." I requested.

"Serus, that's a dangerous idea. He's still feral, and might kill you even your his owner." the Phoenix worried.

"I am your master, therefore, I should act as one." I said.

"If that's what you want, Serus." the Phoenix led me to a path towards the prison of Leviathan.

"You can leave for now, Phoenix. I can handle myself here."

"As you wish, Serus." the Phoenix dispersed.

"Who are you?" the Leviathan asked with a deep, masculine voice.

"I am Serus Desperia, and you must be Leviathan, right?"

"The killer wishes to speak with me? How brave can you be?"

"Stop! I am not a killer!"

"The guiltiest of all people always shouts and say things such as that."

"I swear that I am not, and if I can't change your mind, I still don't care. I came here to you for answers, not your wrath." I yelled.

"Do you know who Duskaea is?" I continued.

"You're his killer, and you don't know?! You're an annoyance to me. You killed my master, and I will never bow down to someone like you!" it roared.

"Master?"

"SERUS!" the voices screamed my name again, and finally woke up.

"What......happened?" I glanced at my surroundings. I am inside my messy house. I promptly remembered the event. Rhys and the father of Fatums, then me fighting a battle.

"Oh, Serus. You're finally awake. I'm so worried about you." it's sir Ryan's voice. I missed him so much. He hugged me as hard as he could.

"Sir Ryan, you're breaking my bones."

"Oh, sorry. It's just that--. Whatever. How are you? Are you okay? Can I help you with anything?" he asked, concernedly.

"I'm fine, sir Ryan. By the way, how did I get in here?" I asked.

"Well, your superhero-friends brought you here. Then they just left, saying to....."

"To what?"

"Stop you from going with them. Right now, the outside is unimaginably terrible." sir Ryan said.

"What do you mean, sir Ryan?"

"What I mean is that you didn't have to lie to me. Why did you hide it from me?" he said.

"Hide what?"

"Your powers, Serus. You didn't tell me you had those."

"I'm sorry, sir Ryan. I didn't know it at first, but it suddenly just emerged from me."

"And I don't want you to get hurt, since you're the only family I have left."

"If that's what you think is better, but don't assume that I will let you do as you want." he reminded.

"Before that, what do you mean by outside being 'unimaginably terrible'?" I asked.

"A war has began between the Fatum and Telum clan." he said.

"What?" I hurriedly ran outside the door of my home, but there is nothing that shows acts of war. In fact, all I see are the flowers on the beautiful garden surrounding my house.

"There is no war though? What's happening?" I am puzzled.

"This dome hides us from the war. It keeps us safe."

"I apologize, sir Ryan, but I need to help them win that war."

"NO! You will stay here with me, Serus. You are safe here with me, not with them. Your reason to be with them is that you just need the money, and nothing else." he explained.

"But...they also kept me alive until now, and this is the only way I can repay them." I said.

"I said no, Serus. Listen to your guardian."

"Guardian. Huh? Before I go, I wanted to ask you a question."

"Is Duskaea my father?" I continued.

"What are you talking about? I don't know any Duskaea, and your parents are real, Serus. Here are they, in a picture with you as a baby, but they lost their lives early on in an accident." he explained, showing me a picture with me and my parents.

".......If you're not going to tell me the truth, then I will find it myself." I walked towards, but then, I felt a sudden stab at my back.

"W-what?"

"Serus. I told you that ignorance would be your downfall, right? I think I haven't made myself clear." sir Ryan said. I remember that phrase coming from someone.

"You're the...black-hooded man?" my back kept bleeding.

"That's good for a title, but I am greater than that. You see, I don't really want you, a Desperia, ruining my plans. So, I took you in for a nice life instead." he said.

"What do you.....mean?" I asked.

"HAHAHA. Gosh, you're weaker than I thought you were. I should've just killed you from before, but I needed you for my plans. Yet, it didn't go as I planned. You're pitiful, Serus."

"You see, everything that you know, are lies!"

"What?"

"Your parents are lies, those memories that you had are just fabricated. You never had any parents, Serus. You're born in a peculiar way, that's why I took interest in you." he continued.

"Duskaea.....you do know him?" I asked.

"That fool? I killed him. They all think that you were the one who killed him, because I put those false memories into them too. And that friend of yours, Grey, took a hard hit from me when she was training." sir Ryan said.

"Yet, you're still defeated by her. You're nothing, but a heartless man!" I shouted.

"Defeating her wasn't my plan. My only plan is for the Fatums and Telums to destroy each other, and now they are. After that, my plan will finally work out." he said

"You......bastard! Why did you hurt them?! Why did you lie to me?! Why are you doing all of this?!" I yelled at him angrily. The man I thought would be my family betrayed me. It hurts so much.

"Your despair and anger is so delicious that I could use it as a gift for my colleagues. I wanted to rule the world, with my other 'colleagues'. You're supposed to be the one ending the Fatums and Telums, but instead, you joined them. Because of that fact, I ended up thinking of one solution."

"It's time to kill you, and no power will stop me." he stabbed me through the heart without any hesitation. The man I loved as a father, betrayed and killed me. The Fatum clan and Telum clan will now destroy each other, and no one will know the truth. Is this.....the end?
