Earth's Alpha Prime

Chapter 156: Monster Waves (Part-5)

Other than the composed ones like Olivia, Sergei, Brandon and Kensei, the rest of the team jumped around joyfully.

Although some maintained their calm, their hearts still raced with excitement from achieving the impossible.

Accompanying their sense of accomplishment was awe and admiration for Jay.

They were well aware that if not for Jay, not to mention clearing the 10th Monster Wave, even surviving for a minute would have been out of the question for them.

They looked at Jay to see his reaction, only to find his usual poker face. That made them wonder what would it take for him to react in the same way as them.

Contrary to their thoughts, Jay was thrilled, but since he was still in the 'State of Harmony', all his emotions were suppressed and couldn't be seen on his face.

He continued to stare at the Bonus Score. It came as a surprise to him. Even MJ didn't know of that since there weren't any records on clearing the 10th Monster Wave in Round-2.

Ever since the beginning of the System's assimilation with the Universe, the 1st Tournament always took place on Day-30, which would give them more time to grow stronger by the start of the 1st Tournament.

Although the Milky Way Trial Program's duration was cut short to one-third of its original span, that didn't change the difficulty of the Tournaments.

Even then, no trial zone team managed to defeat 100 Tier-4 low-Phase monsters in the given duration like the Earth trial zone team.

Because of that, the Bonus Score they received for clearing the 10th monster Wave was as high as 250%.

Combining that with the score from previous Monster Waves, their Team Score reached 5.1 million, out of which the overall Bonus Score comprised 62%.

Out of the remaining 38%, Jay alone contributed to 31% of the entire Team Score, whereas the rest of the team's score altogether summed up to just 7%.

Although Jay was in a good mood for scoring a mind-numbing 5.1 million points, he was not content with that. His aspirations lie even further.

Without wasting any more time, he began using Spirit Crystals to recover Spirit Energy and suggested his team members do the same.

By the time there was just half a minute left before the 10-minute break ended, Jay had managed to bring his Spirit Energy back to its peak.

It wasn't possible with just the Spirit Crystals alone; he also had to use the Spirit Fruits. The lost Stamina from using <Frenzy> was recovered with just his Stamina Regeneration alone without needing to consume Stamina Fruits.

As for the rest of his team, they couldn't use the Magical Fruits since they had a surplus of those fruits not too long ago and consuming any more would be toxic to their bodies and temporarily debuff their overall stats.

Meanwhile, Jay caught sight of bitterness on Min-soo and Andrea's faces and went through their thoughts.

They felt down for scoring the least Individual Contribution Points in the entire team. After all, their role was to save others, and that didn't give them enough leeway to deal much damage to the monsters.

Just before the 11th Monster Wave began, Jay ensured them that he would give RP according to their actual contribution instead of the System calculated one, which was purely based on the contribution score on the amount of damage dealt.

Smiles crept up onto the faces of those two after Jay's assurance.

Following that, Jay briefed everyone on the strategy for the 11th Monster Wave, "If clearing the previous Monster Wave brought any hopes on clearing the 11th one, then don't even entertain such thoughts.

The 100 monsters we will soon be facing are peak Tier-4 Mid-Phase monsters.

So, our previous 'Hit-and-run' tactic wouldn't work on them. At Lv.83, the overall stats of those monsters count up to 1900. Almost all of you just have around one-third of that.

If you launch attacks on them, escaping will be unlikely with the vast difference in stats. With Dante's ability and a little luck, we could survive this. Give your best."

Everyone nodded in understanding and once again moved to the spots Dante had informed them.

Soon, the 11th Monster Wave began, and the 100 Tier-4 Mid-Phase monsters rushed to the center of the barren battlefield just like the monsters in the previous Wave.

Due to the Thunder Miasma Field, their senses were cut off from their surroundings and a similar pattern repeated as the monsters wandered around blind while spawning attacks everywhere around them.

The range and destructiveness of their attacks exceeded what the Earth's Alpha Chosen experienced in the previous Wave, but they held onto their lives.

Meanwhile, Jay continued to shower those monsters with a torrent of grey thunderbolts and deal as much damage as possible.

Once in a while, when it was hard for Min-soo to save multiple ones at once, he would send Wind Clones onto the monsters and divert them, allowing the Earth's Alpha Chosen to escape certain death.

That continued till the 10-minute duration ended with a bunch of congratulatory notifications.

[Congratulations! Your team has successfully survived the 11th Monster Wave.]

[Due to surviving the 11th Monster Wave with the entire team, and setting a high record, a 125% bonus Score was added to your Round-2 Team Evaluation.]

Other than Jay, the others didn't even land a single point of damage to the monsters. It was not that they couldn't, but if they did, it would be harder to survive the monsters, which were thrice as fast as them.

So, according to Jay's instructions, they poured everything into surviving the 11th Monster Wave.

Although Jay was the only one who dealt damage to the monsters, he alone killed one-fourth of the monsters by 'damage-grinding' them till the last minute.

If not for the Thunder Miasma Field, forget about taking out so many; even a single Tier-4 Mid-Phase monster would force Jay into using his ace skill, <Mega-Bolt>.

Despite scoring nothing in the 11th Monster Wave, the Earth's Alpha Chosen were excited for their Team Score to reach a stunning 6.5 million.

Among them, Henry was excited to the point he let out an optimistic remark, "It wasn't so hard; maybe we could survive the next Monster Wave as well and land another bonus score."

That influenced some into thinking it might be possible, but their thoughts were interrupted by Jay's harsh words.

"Don't get ahead of yourselves. The monsters in the 12th Monster Wave will all be at the very peak of Tier-4, Lv.100.

Other than the overwhelming 2200 overall stats, their respective Mastery will be at the peak of Stage-4, which will make their attacks far more devastating than the previous Wave. It is hard to tell if even I could survive this."

A still silence befell upon the Earth's Alpha Chosen. If even Jay finds it hard to survive, what about them?!
