Shawn, Mike, Ellis and Carrie all walk down a long empty road. They all had their weapons ready but Ellis.

Carrie looks over at him. "You okay?"

He shrugs. "I'm good" He continues to walk without looking at her.

She looks at him worried.

"I wouldn't worry about him" Shawn says beside her.

She nods. "I know but still"

He sighs. "He lost two of his favorite people in this world. I don't blame him for hating this awful world."

Carrie looks up at Shawn. "So did you.." She pats his arm.

"Whoa!" Mike stops and puts out his hand.

They group stops.

"What is it?" Shawn asks confused.

Mike bends down to see tire tracks. "Look.." He points to them. "They head into the forest."

Shawn nods. "It's not worth it"

Mike groans. "But what if-"

"Nothing Mike" Shawn pats his head. "Good looking out though"

Mike growls. "Still.."

Carrie looks closer at the tracks. "Maybe we should check it out" She looks at Shawn. "Couldn't hurt."

Shawn groans. "Fine" He looks at them. "Stubborn kids" He laughs.

Mike smiles big. "Yay!"

Carrie laughs a little as she and Mike head into the woods while Ellis and Shawn stay behind.

"What do you think will be in it?" Mike asks curious.

Carrie shrugs. "Maybe people?"

He sighs. "Hope they aren't dead.."

She looks over at him. "Why? Can't handle anymore zombies?"

He shakes his head. "No it's just that I would rather see another face than a dead one.."

She nods. "Yeah.." She looks at the vehicle ahead. "Hey look its a news van!"

Mike tilts his head. "Who would of knew."

They both look at it.

"News Channel 6" Mike reads the side of the van. "Weird"

Carrie looks at him. "Why is that weird?"

He thinks. "I think I remember them reporting about something when I was on the plane."

"When we were coming back?" She looks at the van. "Yeah...yeah!" She laughs. "Wow. I remember them doing some news on how schools were rioting children's brains or something"

He laughs. "Yeah.." He goes to the side door. "Lets see if anything is in here" He goes to open it when a gun shot is heard.

"Mike!" Carrie jumps on him.

They both hit the ground.

"What the heck?" He growls.

Carrie points to the hole in the van. "A gun hole" She whispered.

"Come out!" Someone yelled from inside the van.

Carrie and Mike looked at one another scared.

Shawn and Ellis walk toward them with their weapons ready.

Carrie signals them to not take another step.

They nod.

"Come on! Take it!"

Mike cries a little. "I'm scared."

Carrie swallows hard. "Listen, we aren't going to hurt you!"


"Yeah right!"

A moment of silence before the person sighs. "H-how do I know I can trust you?"

"You don't! But you can trust me" Carrie looks at Shawn.

Carrie sighs. "I'm going to open the door. Okay?" She puts her hand on the handle. "If you don't trust me than shoot." Carrie stands. She takes a deep breath. "Here I go!" She opens the door.

A woman sits at the other side. She had short messy black hair. She wore a button up shirt with a skirt. Her clothes were also ripped and torn. She had blood all over her. She pointed a gun at Carrie.

Carrie had her arms up. She stared at her.

The woman had mascara running down her cheeks.

"Hi.." Carrie smiled a little. "I'm Carrie"

"Carley..." She swallowed hard. "Carley is my n-name.."

Carrie smiled. "That's pretty" She looks at Shawn. "Just so you know I do have three others with me. We have a place that you can stay at if you like?"

Carley stared at her thinking. "Promise?"

Carrie nodded. "Promise"

Carley threw the gun. She put her arms up.

Shawn and Ellis went next to Carrie.

"You okay?" Ellis asked Carrie.

Carrie didn't say anything but hug him.

He stood there for a second but hugged back.

Mike looked at Carley. "Whoa"

Shawn helped Carley out. "How long have you been in here?" He looked around at the messy van. He noticed candy bar wrappers.

Carley rubbed her arms. "Weeks...months?...I...I really don't know.." She wiped her eyes.

Shawn nodded. "Okay.." He took off his jacket. "Here.." He put it around her. "It's getting cold."

She smiled. "Thank you.." She wrapped it more around her.

"If I may ask do you know any place around here that we can get some food or anything?" Mike asks curious.

Carley nodded. "Yeah. Down the road has a gas station. But the things could be gone by now.."

"That's fine. It's do" Shawn helped her to the road.

Mike followed but looked back at Ellis and Carrie. "Hmm." He shook his head and followed Shawn.

"It's going to be okay" Ellis said as he rubbed her head.

Carrie sobbed a little. "I know" She pulled away. Tears down her cheeks. "I honestly don't know why I'm crying." She laughed as she wiped her eyes. "Thank you but lets go"

He nodded. "Its fine"
