Ten days passed.....

Yan Shu got discharged. 

She returned to her hell. Oops... The Ning family mansion. 

She noticed that she is the most unwelcomed guest. But she didn't give a heed to any of them. She directly went to her room and locked it. She brought her medicines back with her and some luggage with her from the hospital. So she didn't take much time to unpack her things. After unpacking she slept for a long time. 

Soon it's dinner time. She is summoned by an old maid to the dining hall. 

"Miss. Lu, it's dinner time. Please head over to the dining hall." An old maid asked. 

"I'm tired. I couldn't go down. Can you get me the food to my room?" She asked.

"Miss. Lu, sorry. I cannot do that. Master Ning, called you to eat with him. He said it will be a family dinner. You have to go down with me. " she said as she bowed her head. 

"Did my brother returned home?" She asked.

"No," the maid said.

"Leave it. I'm not hungry. You can go back. " She said. 

"Miss. Lu, Master Ning said that he also needs to talk to you about something. So, please follow me. If you don't follow me now Mrs. Ning will be angry, I will get punished. " the maid said. 

"Fine, I will go down. But after a few minutes." She said. 

The maid nodded and left. 

Yan Shu sat on her bed for a while and sighed deeply. She washed her face with cold water and then left to the dining hall. 

When she reached the dining hall she saw glaring Ning Chunhua, Mrs.Ning whose eyes are throwing daggers and finally Ning Qiang who is smiling gently at her. 

She smiled at Ning Qiang. She didn't show any expressions to Mrs.Ning and Ning Chunhua. 

She bowed to everyone and sat on the chair which is the farthest seat from them. 

"Shu'er, why don't you sit beside me?" He asked.

"Master. Ning, it's fine. This chair is near to me when I came. So, I sat here. And also it's comfortable for me. " she said as she smiled at him. 

"Since you said it. I will let it be. By the way, Since you are discharged when will you start going to your school?" He asked with a smile. His smile reached his eyes instead of looking gentler it felt menacing to her. 

"I will go to the school starting tomorrow," she said with a smile that didn't reach her eyes.

"How can you go from tomorrow? Why don't you go after a week? Maids will take care of you and help you prepare the medicinal soups to nourish your body." He said. 

"Master. Ning, it's fine. I'm thankful for your concern and kindness. But I missed nearly two months. I cannot waste any more time. " she said as she eyed Ai Lien and Ning Chunhua. For which she received a hatred glares.

"No, you will listen to me and stay home." He said. 

Yan Shu said nothing and continued eating her food. 

After she is done eating she left for her room. She noticed that Lu Xing Yan is still absent from the dinner. It's 10.p.m. But he is still not home. She is awake the whole time until he came home. He arrived home when it's nearly 12. She wondered how he managed to visit her when she is in the hospital. 

After she saw him arriving home. She let out a sigh and went to her bed. 

She closed her eyes and tried to drift into the sleep. But she couldn't. She did nothing. She kept her eyes closed and got habituated to the darkness. But still, she couldn't sleep. 

Lu Xing Yan came home and directly went to the dining hall. And the maids quickly brought the reheated food and served it to him. However, he ate his food and went to his room. On the way, he glanced at Yan Shu's room which is shut tightly. 

He opened the door and went inside. He saw her sleeping peacefully. He went near her and kissed her forehead. He brushed away the hair strands on her face and tucked them behind her ear. 

He looked at her face in the dark. He can still see her face clearly in the moonlight. She is still the same pure and innocent little girl.  

"I'm sorry, Twerp." He said. After a while, he left her room after sitting beside her for a while.  The moment he left the room, Yan Shu's eyes shot open. A tear rolled down from her eyes.

She knew why he is apologizing. But she doesn't want here his sorry. She doesn't want him to be apologizing. She wants him to become her past Xing gege. 

Why does he need to say sorry?

There is no need. He needs to become her past attentive Xing gege. 

But little she didn't know is that he won't be and can't be.

Next day...

Yan Shu is forced to stay at home. Maids started feeding her with the best and nutritious food. She is taking Chinese medicine too. Even though it's bitter she is drinking it without any complaint. Even the maids who are concocting it will close their nose while making it. But she is drinking them without flinching away. 

Ai Lien comes and slaps her whenever she is in a bad mood or angry. Yan Shu stopped crying even if she got slapped or beaten. She simply gives her a blank look. But in return, she is getting more slaps. Ai Lien gr pissed off when she saw the blank look on the Yan Shu face. 

Ning Chunhua sets her up sometimes and frames her. But she didn't gain anything from setting up Yan Shu. Even if she complained to Ning Qiang he did nothing. He tried to dig the truth and would punish Ning Chunhua. Taking this as chance Ai Lien would beat Yan Shu more and more. Due to this, her recuperating days got extended by Ning Qiang as she is getting beaten by Ai Lien. She wondered if he is really caring or falling it like he is caring for her.  

One day, Ning Chunhua framed Yan Shu saying that she stole her hairpin which is made of white and blue jade. 

"Father, she is the one who stole my hairpin. " Ning Chunhua said as she glared at Yan Shu. 

Ning Qiang looked at Yan Shu with his questioning eyes. 

"Master. Ning, Miss. Ning hairpin must have been taken by someone or else she lost it but I'm clearly innocent in this. I don't even know how does it look. " she said as he hung her head low. 

"You piece of shit!!  Who gave you the right to say those words? Huh? Just because Master Ning is looking after you well. It doesn't mean you can open your mouth! Understand?" Ai lien shouted at her. 

Yan Shu nodded her head. 

"Will your tongue get slayed or what if you say a word? Huh? How dare you disrespect me! " Ai Lien said as she made her way towards Yan Shu. 

A heavy slap landed on Yan Shu's right cheek which is followed by another slap on her left cheek. Nearly five to six slaps landed on her face. But no one spoke or stopped her. 

Finally, Ai Lien let her go when she felt her hands started hurting. Normally she can let the maids slap her but she won't let them do it. Because she wanted to torture and best Yan Shu on her own. Whenever she bet her she feels immense satisfaction. 

Yan Shu's face is swollen now. Her lips cracked again a small drop of blood dripped from the corner of her lip. This is the scene that welcomed Lu Xing Yan when he arrived. 

He saw the confrontation but didn't say a word and ignored it as if it doesn't involve him at all. He walked forward and crossed the people in the room. When Ning Chunhua saw this she got angered. 

"Mr. Lu, your sister stole my thousands of yuan worthy Jade hairpin. I would like to go know where she left it. Please ask her to return it to me. " she said with a smirk. 

"Miss. Ning, please don't involve me in which doesn't belong to me or matters me," he said.

"Mr. Lu, don't you think you are being too harsh to your sister? Huh? Why don't you take her side? Or are you afraid that the truth will reveal soon and she will be found guilty? So you don't want to make a fool of yourself? Huh? Am I right? " she mocked. 

"Miss. Ning, even if she is my sister, do I need to take her side? I don't think so. One should solve their own problems. If she had the ability she will solve it. If not she has to face the consequences. And as for making the fool, you know the person who is the real thief wand that person will be found guilty while making others a fool. I think we know who is that fool is, right? " he said with an expressionless face as he tucked his hand in his pocket. 

"Are you implying that fool is me?" She asked.

"I don't dare, Miss. Ning. I'm implying to the thief. If you are the one who took that pin you will be a fool if not you are not. By asking questions you are confirming the things. I don't think my presence is needed here anymore. I will be leaving my room. "

When he is about to leave he saw Ai Lien getting up and giving a loud slap on Yan Shu's face. 

This time the slap is full of force. Yan Shu lost consciousness and fell down. No one said a single thing. Everyone stared at her like headline doesn't matter to them. And all the eyes in the hall turned towards him. 

But he just glanced at the unconscious Yan Shu and left the living room.
