30. Disqualify

Dongying said to Jiang Tianxing in a low voice, “Tang Miaoyu is a close friend to

the deputy manager of our West Restaurant, Yahui. Yahui’s family said that she heard that Tang Miaoyu was injured and hospitalized last night and Yahui went to the hospital to take care of her. We called Yahui just now, but she didn’t answer.”

Hearing this, Jiang Tianxing remembered the call Yahui gave him this morning. Her tone was anxious on the phone.  Then suddenly, he thought of the scene of Tang Miaoyu standing alone on the dark road after he left last night.

Dongying stood by the side and waited for a while before reminding Jiang Tianxing doubtfully, “Mr. Jiang?”

Jiang Tianxing blinked and regained his wits, then asked with a grave face, “How is she?”

Dongying then said, “We’re not clear about the specific situation, but according to Yahui’s family, Tang Miaoyu is seriously injured, but because she has not received a call from Yahui, she doesn’t know it either.”

Seeing Yahui doing her best for her friend, the two nurses asked with some concern, “Why didn’t we see the patient’s family here? Yahui was stunned. She looked at the pale face of Miaoyu and suddenly remembered that it was November 3rd today, which happened to be Miaoyu’s father’s birthday. Miaoyu had promised her daddy that after the competition, she would go to the prison to visit him. After thinking for a while, Yahui followed the nurses into the ward.

She hurriedly picked it up and wiped it gently, only to find that there were two missed calls from the hotel. Maybe it was the manager who urged her to go back to work. Without thinking too much, Yahui called her parents and asked them to take care of Tang Miaoyu. She had something to do.

Tang Miaoyu was placed on the sickbed. Because she had not recovered from the anaesthetic, she was still sleeping soundly. Noticing that it was getting late, Yahui asked a nurse to take care of Miaoyu first, and she walked quickly out of the hospital. She bought a small cake nearby and got into a cab.
