35. Lifelong Beauty

Hearing it, Su Ruiqi sensed her cowardice, and a half-smile played on his lips. He stared at her for a good while before saying gently, “I won’t charge you money…but you…if you are hesitant to come in, please don’t stand at the entrance to affect my business…”

Miaoyu blinked with fear and said in a low voice, “Sorry…. I accidentally passed by your shop. I’m sorry… I gotta leave right now…”

After finishing her words, she immediately turned around and stroked her left face with her trembling fingertips, walking forward panting.

Standing in front of the shop, Su Ruiqi observed her receding figure similar to that of a senile woman and said in a soft tone, “No one can be beautiful forever, nor is it a sin to be mutilated. There’s no need to stoop down while walking…”

Miaoyu stood there, looking at a banyan tree ahead with a dense canopy which afforded shade. Somehow, her eyes turned red.

Seeing her slowly come to a stop, Su Ruiqi sighed and said, “Come in.”

Miaoyu slowly turned around and watched the man walk into the shop, but she felt inexplicably frightened. Standing in the cold wind, she felt her whole body was shivering with fear…

Su Ruiqi walked into the shop and silently came to the backseat of the hairdressing area, lighting up the entire shop. A gentle crystal light mingled with the white sunlight setting in, creating a warm atmosphere of winter days. He glanced around the shop and walked into the restroom alone. He made two cups of soluble coffee and walked out to be drawn by a beam of sunlight and the shade of the banyan tree outside the entrance.

His eyes blinked, and he held a cup of brewed coffee. Passing through the luxurious hall, he leaned by the door. He took a sip of flavorful coffee to refresh himself, looking out to the street over there…

Miaoyu was still alone, standing in the cold wind miserably and tugging at a corner of her hospital gown uneasily. Her big and bright eyes were still trembling with tears….

Su Ruiqi smiled and continued to sip the coffee, the fragrance of which wet his whistle, and then looked up toward Tang Miaoyu.

There was a fearful glitter in Miaoyu’s eyes as she confronted him.

Amidst beams of morning sunlight and wind howling, they were just a few steps apart.

Su Ruiqi looked at Miaoyu, then smiled and said in a soft tone, “Come in….”

Tang Miaoyu still glanced at him alertly, then lowered her head. She kept silent and tried to move a step. Unexpectedly, her bare feet were hit by a gravel, which gave her a start. She took a deep breath and gazed at the gravel on the ground without expression.

Upset by her awkwardness, Su Ruiqi assured her, “Come in, tidy up and then leave. I’ve never given a cold shoulder on the first guest every day…”

Tang Miaoyu suddenly looked up toward him in indescribable surprise.

Su Ruiqi uttered nothing. He turned around and walked into the shop, holding the cup of coffee in his hand.
