Fallen Fate Online

Chapter 103 Purification

"Well, well, I didn't expect you to be so generous." Lucia smirked, standing at the end of the aisle with a sly glint in her azure eyes.

Alden glanced at her with a devious smirk, "Hey, what are you doing here? I thought you'd come home. Were you spying on us?"

"Maybe... I was just curious if you'd reward Zayne in the right way." Lucia tilted her head while shadows hid her silhouette, "However, I see now that I had nothing to worry about. By the way, you're going to change the position of the forces in the city a bit, aren't you?"

Alden's eyes narrowed as he developed a cunning smile, "Well, I won't hide it, I'm lucky that Zayne started the conflict with the Goren Family, those two... their alliance has annoyed me for a long time."

Lucia sighed, "Agh... You're in your style. Considering that Zayne is a Traveler, no one can blame us for conceiving the conflict, especially since Trus Goren made the mistake first."

Alden didn't answer anything, he just walked forward with a confident stride. Lucia nodded slightly and glanced at the gate behind which Zayne was, then she followed Alden, completely sinking into the shadows.

...

Zayne has been in the lake for several minutes now, feeling his body fill with strength and relaxation after his hard training. However, so far, it was no different from his usual rest in the hot water.

'How strange... I definitely feel better, but is that all that was supposed to happen? Given Mr. Solomon's potion and Alden's words, something incredible must have happened to me!' Zayne inwardly complained slightly, looking at the perfect covering of the lake, with only his azure eyes peering out.

Gradually two hours passed, and because of the intense drowsiness and fatigue, Zayne unknowingly to himself closed his eyes. He slowly slid down the stone edge, gradually falling into the water until he disappeared into it completely.

Zayne began to gasp, but for some reason, he did not wake up, though his life was in real danger.

[HP: 140 -> 130]

[HP: 130 -> 120]

[HP: 120 -> 110]

Messages appeared every few seconds, and literally everything tried to wake Zayne up, but it was as if he was in anabiosis.
[HP: 40 -> 20!]

When his health reached almost its lowest point, which was the critical moment, his whole body was covered in goosebumps.

[One of your Titles was activated - Wild Metamorphosis!]

[All of your stats were increased by 30% for a short period!]

Crackle.

All of Zayne's muscles tensed as he abruptly opened his eyes, one of which was now red.

[One of your passive skills was activated - Echo of the Beast!]

[Your body instinctively tries to find a way out of a deadly situation!]

'What the hell...!' Zayne internally exclaimed and quickly ducked out.

A splash of white water splashed around as Zayne emerged from the lake, who was greedily gulping for air. He was breathing heavily with a startled look as he just about lost a rare opportunity to get stronger.

"Fuck! What the hell was that, and what's going on?!" Zayne exclaimed in confusion, looking down at his hands. All of his muscles tensed to the breaking point, and his veins swelled as if they could explode at any moment.

[Two different cleansing effects begin to remove all excess from your body! The combination of your Titles and Skills will speed up the process!]

"Agh... Well, I almost screwed up, but it looks like it's finally about to start what I came here for." Zayne smiled, anticipating the power that would overwhelm his entire body.

In a few seconds, Zayne's eyes opened wide, and even outside the iron gate, there was a piercing cry of pain as if someone inside was in hell's agony and being tortured by the devil himself.

...

"Hah, do you think it's started yet?" Lucia asked watching the sun rise slowly from behind the mountain peaks.

"I don't know, it's different for everyone. The first time my father plunged me into the lake I almost passed out from the pain, considering I was only five years old at the time, it was a real challenge for me." Alden muttered with a slight smile on his face, swinging his wine glass from side to side.

Lucia took a sip of the hot coffee with the steam passing over her face and smirked, "The first time is the most painful, and the older a person is the harder the payoff will be. I could be wrong, but Zayne is about twenty, so usually at that age, nobles have their fourth purification, not counting the others..."

Alden sighed, "Well, then he'll be more hurt than me four times over, maybe he'll even scream to deal with it somehow, I don't blame him. However, there is one upside to this situation. The more it hurts, the better the effect will be, I hope Zayne gets lucky. Hah, if he heard me now he'd curse for sure."

...

"Arghhhhhhh!!!" Zayne screamed in pain while black fluid was coming out of his body. The white water around him was filled with something like ink, dark and thick among which for some reason there were small crimson particles, like sparks from a fire.

[There were particles of the Chaos in your body! They will gradually be removed along with the excess from your body!]

"Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! How could there be particles of Chaos in my body? Rina cleaned it up last time, that's for sure!" Zayne exclaimed, clenching his teeth tightly and trying to endure the sharp pain, then his eyes went wide.

"Shit! It's all about Enar! That's right! Considering how many times he attacked me there must have been bits of Chaos left in me!" Zayne muttered with anger and raged his fists into the water.

Splash.

The pressure caused the white water mixed with the black water to rise upward as if from an explosion, and in the reflection of the slowly falling drops, Zayne saw his silhouette.

"What... Is it really me...?" Zayne muttered in disbelief, completely forgetting his pain, then he looked at his reflection as the surfaces of the lake came to rest.

The last time Zayne had looked at himself was the first day he had broken his bathroom mirror out of anger. Since then, some of the details have changed.

"Damn... I feel like saying I've gotten prettier, but that's not really the right word... It's like I've just gotten better in every aspect..." Zayne looked at his face from different angles for a while, and gradually he got a happy smirk, "Hah, I like that!"

Crackle.

At the same moment, Zayne felt the sharp pain again and everything went back to the same pace. This went on for several hours until Zayne's agony was finally over.

Everything superfluous from his body was gone, and the entire surface of the lake was covered with a thick black liquid and tiny red sparks.

[Your body went through the cleansing process completely!]

"Agh... I thought I wouldn't make it to the end... Damn, I had no idea the reward would be so painful, but I hope it was worth it." Zayne took a deep breath and walked out of the lake. He still had some time left, so he decided to just rest.
