Fallen Fate Online

Chapter 87 Speed Of The Hands

Enar easily broke through Geir's shield, but his flames could not even heat Roland's word. Every time the temperature rose, the runes on the sword flashed brightly, and the heat disappeared.

"What is it? Did I catch you off guard?" Roland gripped the hilt of his sword tighter, pressing his full weight on Enar.

Enar's feet sank to the ground as a silhouette with two broad wings appeared behind him.

'Now!' Enar inwardly exclaimed as he bounced aside, raising a cloud of dust in his place through which Zayne swept with his sword covered in a blue glow.

Zayne shook his head, sighed, and looked at Enar. His gaze was different from Roland's, he stared at Enar not as his nemesis, but as an opponent who could give him something special.

'What a strange guy... He's a Traveler, but what is he doing here? How could he get such connections in a couple of days? Well, that's definitely not what I should be thinking about right now.' Enar said inwardly as the cube reached the ground.

The artifact glowed brightly with purple light quickly creating a square barrier around it. Enar nodded slightly and dashed to the side, trying to get out of the artifact's range.

Whoooooooooooosh.

Suddenly several ghostly hands grabbed hold of Enar's arms and legs, stopping him at the last moment.

"What...?!" Enar's eyes went wide, he turned sharply toward Roland and saw the glowing amulet on his chest.

"Hah, looks like you weren't as smart as you're trying to sound, were you?" Roland smirked, grabbed Zayne by the shoulder, and they both stepped back, letting the barrier close completely around Enar.

Enar's eyes grew colder as for a brief moment his entire body was covered in a powerful flame that burned the ghostly palms.

"Well... What next?" Zayne asked with a glance at Rea.

"This artifact was given to me by my teacher when I graduated from Mage Academy, it is designed to pacify dangerous monsters, but I think I was not wrong to use it against this wild beast!" Rea exclaimed confidently as magic circles appeared on the barriers.

Multiple projectiles were launched from each magical circle, more than twenty in total, and all of them headed toward Enar.
Enar stared at Rea for a while, giving her goosebumps, but now she wouldn't back down as she felt more confident, then Enar came into action.

Whoooooooooooosh.

With fiery palms, he began to bounce one projectile after another, tossing them aside and making them explode like fireworks.

Enar swung his hands several times a second, but his gaze was not strained at all, and his breathing was calm and measured.

"Damn, he's got strong magical powers, but he's so damn fast... I doubt I could deflect half the projectiles." Roland muttered with a gulp, hoping that Enar would soon tire.

"It won't be enough." Zayne said seriously, "Look... Not only has he not missed a single projectile, but he is also beginning to get used to it and speed up... Rea, if there is no way we can stop him, he will soon get out of this barrier..."

Rea's eyes went wide, "No way... Two hundred to three hundred projectiles are flying out of each magic circle... Will he really be able to repel them all...?! I don't believe it!"

At the same moment, Enar closed his eyes, which seemed insane in his situation, but he was not a person who took risks without a reason.

Enar's hands began to move faster, and gradually he stopped reflecting the projectiles, instead, he began as if to collect them with smooth movements. The purple projectiles, followed his palms, passing in a circle in front of him as though he were juggling them.

"What the hell...?" Rea's eyes went wide with a shiver running through her body.

Crackle.

The magical circles collapsed as they expended all their energy, but still couldn't hurt Enar even once.

"It's my turn, right?" Enar opened his eyes as he stepped forward. His amber pupils flared, then a red energy ray burst from his palms, destroying the barrier in front of him at tremendous speed.

'This is bad!' Zayne inwardly exclaimed, at the sight of the powerful attack heading toward them and rushed to Rea.

Zayne pounced on her, tossing her aside and saving her at the last moment from the ray that could kill her.

Tremble. Tremble. Tremble.

The beam reached the end of the room, colliding with the stone wall and bursting, releasing all its energy outward. A blast of red flame shook the entire cave system like a massive earthquake, and filled half the room with fire.

Zayne pressed Rea's head to the ground to keep the flames from hurting her, but some of the flames came down on him, bringing him stabbing pain.

'Damn! Damn! Damn! This is madness! How can one attack be so powerful?!' Zayne inwardly exclaimed, 'It's like setting off a fuse bomb! What the fuck is wrong with this game?!'

Roland quickly hid behind a stone pillar and watched Enar closely.

'Good thing Geir made it to cover in time... That fire would have seriously burned him, but what do we do with this bastard?' Roland pondered as he stared at Enar headed somewhere, 'Apostles... They are actually different from Oracles, they are not scientists but real top-level warriors.'

"Agh!" Zayne took a deep breath when all the flames passed and rose to his feet, "Are you okay?" Zayne held out his hand to Rea.

"Yeah... Because of you, thank you." Rea replied awkwardly, "You didn't need to take that risk, Geir's shield still protects me."

pαndα`noνɐ1--сoМ "Well, it's better not to lose such a useful skill over a simple fire, isn't it?" Zayne chuckled as he awkwardly scratched the back of his head.

"ZAYNE!!!" Roland exclaimed from afar as if warning him of danger.

Crackle.

Instantly, Enar's fist collapsed into Zayne's jaw, and his face crumpled as if in slow motion as the momentum of the blow reached him. The impact, threw Zayne a few feet to the side, causing him to crash into a stone pillar and vomit a mouthful of blood.

"Talking while fighting? Now I'm actually puzzled as to why you got Fate's Sigh, you're just a kid." Enar muttered looking at Zayne, then he turned to Rea.

Rea flinched as her eyes went wide and she pulled out her staff, which was already glowing and ready to attack.

"Oh... You're even more of a coward than that kid..." Enar sighed before stepping forward.

Whooooooooooosh.

A projectile flew out of the staff, but Enar quickly struck Rea's arm, pulling the staff aside and making the projectile miss, then he threw off her hat and grabbed her hair tightly.

"I've never understood the habit of mages wearing those silly hats. What are you trying to hide from, the world? In that case, those whose eyes are open will easily deal with you." Enar said calmly, plunging his knee into Rea's face.

Rea's mouth opened wide in pain, but that was only the beginning as Enar's fist immediately slammed into her stomach, bringing her another wave of pain.

"Be a good girl and rest on the sidelines. I have a lot of work to do." Enar muttered, stabbed her right in the throat with his palm, and as a final chord threw her aside, kicking her in the chest.
