Falling For Miss Captain : LOVE Vs DUTY

Chapter 185 - On Your Wedding Day

When a dashing couple entered the Royal Shopping Mall, they caught everyone's attention. What's more, it's Edeladon and all the people there knows that it's the Crown Prince and his fiancee!

It was Yelena's suggestion to enter without guards to maintain a low profile and normal shopping time. However, people won't stop taking photos of them. Little did they care about that.

Felix was brought up in the spotlight and this attention was just a part of his daily life. However, for Yelena who always preferred to stay away from such unwanted attention, it's not easy to grow accustomed to it but Felix presence was enough to put her at ease.

They walked past all the eyes who stared at them and went straight to the quiet section which Felix mentioned. Just as he said, there were only a few people there and they were quite elegant compared to all the people they met before.

"This section is for the nobles. My father builds this mall and he wanted every section to be opened equally for everyone. But because it's the Royal Mall, there was a suggestion to create a separate section for the nobles. The suggestion received a positive response and this section was created." Felix explained and looked at Yelena. "Being wealthy is not enough to enter this section. You must be from a noble family."

Yelena nodded and her eyes briefly swept around the section. It was huge than she expected.

"There is no monarchy in your country, so you won't understand much about noble families and all. But here, we have a strong belief and a long history about nobility. The citizens also respect this hierarchy." Felix added.

"It would be necessary to study the history," Yelena murmured and smiled at Felix. "You should teach me that. I'm a fast learner."

Felix slightly chuckled at her words. "I would love to do that." He glanced around and then turned back to her. "Shall we start picking the gifts?"

"Alright." She said with a nod and she instantly went to a certain corner which already caught her attention for a while.

Standing in front of the big counter, Felix narrowed his eyes at the things which were displayed inside the glass cabinet. "Rare gemstones?" He muttered with a slightly raised brow. "Is it for my father?"

"Will he like it?" Yelena promptly asked with an exciting smile.

"Of course. He loved unique things." He placed his hand on Yelena's shoulder with a smile. "That's why you managed to win over him easily. He finds you unique."

Yelena slightly frowned. "Don't call it easy. Do you know how much pressure I felt when he suddenly appeared in my office? I thought that my heart was about to stop beating!" She shook her head in disappointment. Easy? Never!

Felix let out a laughter. "But still, judging from my father's nature, it's amazing how he accepts you that fast."

"Really?" She asked with a flustered face. All her disappointed face was completely gone!

"Yes. He finds you unique, so it's your turn to pick something unique for him." Felix jokingly said and Yelena quickly turned back to the glass cabinet.

After spending around an hour shopping, the couple finally left the Royal Mall and get inside the car again. Then they instantly left for the palace without any delay. It's almost 6 p.m. now and it won't be good to be late.

For Yelena, it's her second time visiting the palace. Whenever this breathtakingly vast and magnificent palace was presented right before her eyes, one thing always crossed her mind. One day, this place will be her home. Her home for life. Even now, the feeling still made her flustered.

This was never included in her plan yet it would happen soon. The feeling used to scared her at times because this was a foreign place for her. However, when she includes Felix and his family in that plan for the near future, she always feels much at ease.

"Are you thinking of the future?" Felix asked when he noticed her staring out of the windows, completely zoned out. His voice snapped her out of her stupor and she slightly smiled.

"Will this place really fits me? You know, I rarely failed in life and to be honest, failure scared me. What if I can't do a good job? What if I struggled to adjust?" She let out a sigh. "I always worried so much whenever I think of these questions."

Felix put down the tablet which was on his thighs and turned to her. "You are afraid to fail but... that didn't stop you from trying. That's good enough." He flashed a genuine smile and ran a finger through her hair. "I know, you push yourself because you love me. So, trust me. I will never allow you to fail. I will have your back all the time."

"I trust you." She promptly muttered and smiled.

Then the car was pulled over and Felix glanced around before he turned back to her again. "We're here. Let's get inside. My parents will be waiting."

"What took them so long? It's already half past 6 now. Call Felix and ask him where they are now."

Inside the main room of the royal palace, Queen Nicola was pestering her husband to urge their son. They heard that it's been more than an hour since they left the hotel but... what took them so long?

It had been a while since they saw their future daughter-in-law and many incidents happened during that time. Maybe this made the always elegant Queen impatient! She worried a lot about Yelena these days and she can't wait to see her and check how she's doing.

"They will be here soon. Let's be patient for a while. They haven't seen each other for weeks and they will have many things to do." King Lawrence who was sitting beside his wife calmly assured her. He had never witnessed his wife being this impatient and it was quite a miracle for him.

"But - "

The Queen shut her mouth when the door was opened and the couple made their way inside.

"I told you that they will be here soon." King Lawrence said and rose from his seat to welcome his son's fiancee. "It's been a while, Yelena."

Yelena smiled and slightly bowed. "Are you doing well, Father?" She narrowed her eyes at the Queen who was about to stand up too. "Thanks for inviting me, Mother. I should have come sooner but I have so much work to do. I apologize."

"We understand. Besides, the situation these days will be very hard for you." Queen Nicola stood up and briefly hugged Yelena to welcome her.

"You don't have to worry about us. We are doing fine and Felix is handling most of the trouble." The King said and lightly chuckled.

"Mother, Father, Yelena bring some gifts for both of you," Felix said and took the paper bags from the guard.

"Felix said that it's not necessary but the last time I came here, I don't bring anything valuable. So, I want to amend it this time." Yelena said and handed a gift to the parents.

Without complaining, King Lawrence Valestra quickly opened the gift he received. Though the thing that was placed inside was a small one, he was in awe. He picked up the gemstone and raised it. "It resembled a ruby but... when exposed to light, there is a sparkle inside, yellow in colour." He commented and turned back to Yelena. "This is very unique. How did you get your hands on this?"

"We are quite lucky. That's why." Yelena said and briefly glanced at Felix. "I bought that from the Royal Mall. They said that the stone just arrived today and they started displaying just before we reached there."

"Felix said that you love unique things. So, I want to pick something unique." She added.

The King observed the stone again and smiled in satisfaction. "You have a good taste, Yelena. I will surely treasure this. Thanks a lot."

"I'm glad that you like it," Yelena said and smiled in relief.

Then the King turned to the Queen who was yet to open her gift. The latter smiled in understanding and opened the gift box.

"I know that you have an amazing collection of diamonds and all types of jewellery. So, it's quite hard to choose one." Yelena said to the Queen.

The queen takes out the white sapphire which was in the shape of a star. It's the type of jewellery which should be pinned on a dress just below a shoulder. "A star?" She muttered with a smile and glanced at Yelena.

Yelena nodded. "Just like white sapphire, you are well known for your elegance and the colour represents purity. What's more, you are the mother of this nation. A star is very suited with your identity." She explained.

Queen Nicola narrowed her eyes at the jewellery and nodded. "You are very thoughtful, Yelena." She placed it back inside the gift box and turned to the couple with a smile. "How about this? I will wear this jewellery on your wedding day. It would be so much meaningful to wear a gift from my daughter-in-law on that special day."
