Falling In Love With A Broken Hearted Man

After Noah dropped me on my apartment, I didn't expect to see my brother waiting for me there. I felt nervous at first because he doesn't do this often. But despite that, I just tried to act normal until we get inside.

He didn't asked where did I go, so It may seem that it doesn't even matter to him.

"Come in," I opened the door wider for him.

"You came late," He looked around and I just swallowed hard to what he said.

I thought he wouldn't mind it, though.

"Uh.... We quiet didn't noticed the time, we went to the beach and had our dinner so.."

"You're probably full now..?" He arched a brow.

"Kind of.."

"That's good." He nodded and looked around.

"Did you have dinner? Do you want me to make something for you?" I'm worried that he didn't eat his dinner and went straightly here..

"I did. Our cook made some for me,"

"Oh. You have a cook!"

His cold gaze turned to me. "I am too busy to cook for myself that's why.."

He sat on the long couch, he seems like he wants to say something but he can't.. I wanted to know but he's too intimidating, it feels like I need to just wait for him to speak.

"Anyway.." He started, looking so confident in his seat.

I pouted which made him smirked. I don't know what he's going to say but I'm a bit nervous about it.

"What? You can tell it now.." I'm still pouting. My brother is a bit weird so, kind of waiting for him to speak.

"I wanted to discuss to you about the company that our dad left us.." He said that made my whole attention diverted to him.

I know that our dad is rich and we had some business.. But I never thought that this day would come. And there's a question inside my head that's asking what can I contribute to grow it successfully in the future.

"A-and?" I didn't want to be involved with it because I have no interest in business but..

"I'm the current chairman of the company and it's such a big work for me handle it alone.."

My eyes widened. "Are you serious?! C-chairman?"

"Is it impossible for me to become like that?"

His expression turns into a cute one. This is the first time that he pouted in front of me. He's usually cold that I can't even imagine him smiling like how I smile.

"I mean... With your a-age..?"

"I have no choice, I'm older than you and I am more experienced when it comes to business.."

"But I thought you're teaching in our school?" My brows furrowed. He's not that workaholic right? He's not multitasking right...?

"I was doing this to protect our company and you," he crossed his legs and looked at me directly.

"Why am I included there?"

I know I have a lot of questions but I'm really curious about it. Well, maybe I still had a lot of things to know more about him and to my father.

"Because our dad asked me to take over our company while I'm watching you on your school.. Dad's always worried about you, Raine.. He even wants me approach you but I can't.." Why he can't? Am I that hard to approach? Am I giving him a discomfort?

And as he said that he's watching me on our school that means...

"You're doing multi works?!"

I feel like I'm losing my mind thinking about it. Gosh! He's such a kind and amazing person. He's even watching me! I can't imagine him being sweetest brother to me even before..

"I ought to... I didn't choose it," He chuckled.

"And why are you saying this to me?"

I was getting the hint now but I'm still waiting for his answer. If he wants my help of it...

"Our company was growing big, Raine... We owned the third most successful company in this age.."

Does he mean...

Oh no. Am I going to work there?! That's the company that I wanted to work on before! I never thought that it's ours. Dad was really good in business...

"It's like an IT company but we're specialized in web developing and networking... I'm offering you the CEO position since it's been vacant for awhile--"

"I'm still inexperienced, Pierre.. I don't deserved that position even if I'm the owner's daughter.." I shook my head. I don't think I deserved that title where I'm still at the bottom.

"You can have your experience then,"

"In our company again?" I asked. Is it necessary to have my experience there?

I'm still young, I wanted to try something else and I wanted to experienced hardship before achieving a higher position.. It's much better to think that I did everything in able to achieve my goal in life.

"No. You can choose where would you do your experience.. I don't mind.."

"Really?" I suddenly felt happy for that. I thought I wouldn't be able to explore things because I was tasked to do my duty, but this is incredible.

"Just don't forget that it's for the mean time until you had your experience.. After that, I'll assigned you to a seminar where you can enhance your knowledge and skills.."

"Do you think I can do it? I was so nervous to the bone, Pierre.." I bit my lower lip.

"You can do it. Dad's blood runs to you... I bet you'll be amazing in the future,"

"So much compliment, huh? It's not obvious that we're siblings," I rolled my eyes but he just chuckled.

"Because I can your potential not through your connection to us, silly.." He patted my head "I also wanted to tell you that I'll stop teaching now.."

"Why?"

"Because you're already graduated?" He said that it would make me feel upset.

I wanted to laugh but he's just too serious. I think I'll be used to it, especially when we often see each other..

"Thank you for looking for me.. It's such a great feeling to have someone caring for you and it's my brother.." My eyes watered. I immediately hugged him and feel his warm.

My brother kinda have a good body huh?

I giggled when I smelled his perfume. It's so manly and it's so good on the nose. Many girls will chase him after inhaling his expensive perfume.

"Why are you giggling? Are you laughing at me?" His monotone voice didn't threatened me. He's my brother after all.

"Nothing. You just smelled good bro."

I heard his small chuckles before I pulled away. Now his eyes were now smiling. Better..

"Let's grow the company together.. I promised dad that I will take care of you, so you don't have to be scared okay?" He held my both arms, I know he wanted to make our parents proud especially dad and I wanted to repay all of his kindness too..

I may not be able to meet my father.. I met my brother at least and I'm thankful for that..

"Let's not just grow it, we should grow with it together. That way we may achieve what we earned through our endless works.. Let's grow together, Pierre.."

"I would love to and I know dad will approve this brilliant idea of yours,"

"Oh course. I'm amazing just like him.." I laughed. "But for now, can I think about it first?"

"Sure. That's not a problem." He smiles and kissed my temples. He's just a good brother. I'm so lucky to have him.

That night Pierre went home, I was asking him to just sleep here because I can give my bed to him but he's just too stubborn!

And when I wake up in the morning, my mom was already preparing for the food. I forgot that she's slept on the other room.

"Where's the girls mom?" I asked, walking towards the fridge. I took our a bottle of water and drink it to wake every nerve of my body.

"They're preparing now. If you wanted, we can just wait for them," she suggested while putting all the side dishes on the table.

"Let's just eat mom," I took some bread and bacon on my plate and also some lettuce to complete the food.

"Mayonnaise?" She offered.

"I'm on a diet mom," I shook my head and started to eat.

The girls are too slow, I'm already hungry so I'll just eat ahead with mom.

"Are you staying mom? What about my brothers?" I'm a little worried that they can't manage without a mom there.

"They're fine sweetie.. I always call for them. Don't worry, I'll go home tonight," she smiles.

"Oh. Then, I should drive you there mom. I'll just borrow Gia's car before that so I can see you off.."

But she only shook her head. "Don't worry about me. I can manage going home alone sweetie, for now you should focus on thinking what your brother offered to you.." 

I was stunned and my head slowly tilted to her direction. She knows about it. It means, she heard us last night!

"You heard us mom!" I pouted.

But she only laughed. "Your voice was just so loud that I can hear it inside the room. Sorry sweetie.."

She laughed again that something's really funny. Damn it, I felt pressured even more.

"Accept it if you think you can do it and if you want to do it.. You're free to refuse the offer sweetie even if you're ought to work with it.. Your life is yours.."

I don't know but I got emotional to what she said. Actually, I was waiting for this. An assurance that came from my love one's.

"Thank you mom.."

I pouted and she just hugged me. She's a brave person. I can see it through her confidence.. And I wanted to be like her too..
