As the story came to an end, they also happened to walk into the store.

Hu Shu and Pang Ziqi were old customers here. The boss smiled as soon as he saw them, “Still the same?”

“Get us some more lamb today.” Hu Shu said, “I also want two more cases of beer, chilled.”

The boss said: “Okay, what about two sticks of kidneys? The ingredients that just arrived today are still fresh.”

Brisket deckle was a cut of beef, which at first glance, looked like white oil, which will make people who have never eaten it think it is greasy. But in fact, it had a good crispy texture after it had been roasted on the flames. The juices in the fat would burst in your mouth after biting down and carried an aroma that was distinctly beef. There was not much meat in this part of the cow and so it was not easy to find this dish just anywhere, it seems that this barbecue restaurant was indeed good.

While waiting for food, Hu Shu recounted several cases involving Pang Ziqi. These cases were without exception, all seemingly normal cases that eventually strayed into supernatural grounds. Take the two jars today for example, when they received the report, they thought that there was something wrong with the person who reported it. Who could have known that the problem was not the person, but the two seemingly beautiful jars.

Hu Shu knew that Lu Qingjiu was not an ordinary person. When he saw the wine, he quickly poured it and toasted Lu Qingjiu a glass. He said, “Brother Lu, do you have any advice regarding that jar? We can’t keep it in the police station… …”

Lu Qingjiu took a sip of beer and said, “I have nothing. Let’s eat first then talk once we’re full.” He said this while glancing at Bai Yuehu. After all, if he didn’t feed his fox, said fox wouldn’t have any interest in joining in.

Bai Yuehu’s mind was indeed not on the matter; all his attention was on the meat skewers sizzling over the charcoal fire. There were mutton and beef skewers, both fat and lean, and all were very fresh. They were sprinkled with spices and peppers, exuding a strong and attractive aroma.

“How about we question the one who reported it again?” Hu Shu’s mind was still stuck on this matter. “Aren’t these jars handed down from his ancestors? Since they have been handed down from his ancestors, why haven’t they ever noticed what was inside.. or are there certain requirements for the creature to appear?”

Pang Ziqi tapped his finger on the table: “Then I will tell him to come over again.”

Hu Shu said: “I’m afraid he won’t be willing…”

Pang Ziqi exploded, spitting out through gritted teeth, “We are the police, not celestial masters. It’s enough that we have to take care of human cases, this shouldn’t be within our jurisdiction.” Although they did belong to this department.

Hu Shu sighed and asked why there had been more and more of these kinds of cases recently. Obviously before all this, it was hard to even meet such cases; but since Pang Ziqi arrived, it seemed the door to a new world had opened for him; not that this new world was somewhere he wanted to go into.

Listening to the conversation between the two, Lu Qingjiu’s heart moved. He thought of the snow covering the Shuifu village before and wondered if these frequent cases were related to the supernatural world. If the boundaries between the two worlds became increasingly blurred, the lives of Hu Shu and Pang Ziqi seem to be the best portrayal of what might happen. Humans would encounter increasingly strange creatures and weird events,  which they would be helpless to counter…

The boss was very fast. He quickly brought over the grilled lamb skewers.

This kind of weather was perfect for drinking cold beer and eating freshly grilled lamb skewers. The lamb skewers were thinly sliced, so they absorbed lots of flavour through the grilling process. Lu Qingjiu grabbed a handful and drank while eating.

Bai Yuehu and Yin Xun were not very interested in alcohol. They just wholeheartedly focused on the delicious lamb skewers.

By now, Hu Shu and Pang Ziqi had also reached a consensus and decided to call the person who reported it over tomorrow and talk about the jar in more detail.

“Brother Lu, is the thing in this jar very dangerous to humans?” Hu Shu was concerned about this.

Before Lu Qingjiu could reply, Bai Yuehu spoke. “There is no threat.” Otherwise, he wouldn’t have let Lu Qingjiu follow along to join for fun.
