Farmer’s Little Girl

Chapter 2010: On Buddhism

  Chapter 2010 On Buddha

The monk    really talked to them about Zen. He led them directly around the guest house to his own residence in the back, sat down under a linden tree, and invited the three of them to sit down.

Four stone benches, one for each person.

After sitting down, the monk introduced himself, "Lao Ya Zhishen."

The three were surprised, "You are Master Zhishen."

The most famous person in the Huguo Temple is Master Zhiren who presided over, and Master Zhiren has a younger brother named Zhishen, I heard that he is also a Taoist monk.

The three people got up and gave another salute. Zhishen didn't expect them to give so many salutes, and smiles even worse on their faces. After returning the salute, they asked them to sit down.

A monk brought up Zen tea and poured tea for them, then bowed slightly and walked back.

Master Zhishen turned the Buddha beads on his hand, and saw that the three of them were all bowing their heads and tasting tea. He was not in a rush to explore the root cause, and he could not help but pick his lips. He took the initiative to speak: "Have the three benefactors read any Buddhist scriptures?"

Bai Shan thought for a while and said: "I waited for the Buddhist scriptures to read less, but copied the "Blessed Life Sutra", "Vajra Prajna Paramita Sutra" and "Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva's Original Wish Sutra."

When Zhishen heard it, he knew that the Buddhist scriptures were copied by the family's female relatives, because these three scriptures are the most commonly used scriptures for upwards, birthdays, and blessings. On average, seven of the ten are for these three. Scripture.

Zhishen smiled and asked, “Why don’t Bai Donor read the Shurangama Sutra? This is the Sutra of Kaihui,

This sutra is exquisite and brilliant. Only the "Miao Dharma Lotus Sutra" and "Hua Yan Sutra" can be mentioned. The three donors are all knowledgeable and have the roots of wisdom. If they can learn these three sutras, they can The future merits and life will be very beneficial. "

The three sighed together, with a sad look on their faces, "Master, instead of letting us read it, it is better for you to tell us some of the subtle sentences and Buddhist principles. If we read it, we will be afraid in the short term. It's not working anymore."

  Master Zhishen asked: "Why?"

   "Because I'm busy!"

Man Baodao: "I want to study medical books, see a doctor in the Imperial Hospital, attend classes at the Imperial Medical Office, and also attend my husband’s class. I read a lot of books. Now it is really hard to spare time to meditate on Buddha."

Bai Shan also nodded, "Yes, and I think it’s too early to worship Buddha at our age. Just be meditation, you can do it by reading other books."

Zhishen smiled slightly, "The Buddha's righteousness is profound, and it is more than a calm mind. I think the three donors are easy to learn, how about I give you these three Buddhist scriptures?"

Before they refused, Monk Zhishen asked them to take three sutras to them. To their surprise, these three sutras were not only old, but also contained densely packed small-print annotations.

Even if they did not believe in the righteousness of Buddhism, they knew how valuable such a Buddhist scripture was, and the three of them turned away after seeing each other.

Master Zhishen is very persistent, and the smile he has been wearing is a lot more solemn. He said: "The poor monks just want to let the donors understand the Buddha's righteousness, and the donors will know if they know it. My Buddha can relieve people from troubles and disasters. Not a deceptive cult."

The three of them knew the reason for this. They were not embarrassed at all. Man Bao asked frankly, "Master Zhishen is now a famous monk who has attained the Tao. Do you understand?"

Master Zhishen was taken aback, then shook his head, "The mysteries of Dharma, the poor monks can't learn one or two, how can they solve their distress?"

Man Bao nodded, "I guess so." Otherwise, why bother to let them read the scriptures? Based on this alone, he is not only inferior to the Guanzhu of Xuandu Guan, but even Shouqing Guanzhu is inferior.

Master Zhishen was blocked on the spot by her words. Seriously, he has been famous for a long time, he has a lot of white and wealth, but no matter which kind, no one has ever said to him, "Hey, monk, I see you If the Dharma is not deep, you can't even solve your own difficulties, right?"

That’s right, although Zhou Man’s words have only four words, that’s what they mean.

Bai Shan explained with a smile: "Master, my husband said that the world is inexhaustible, and the universe is infinite, and no one in the world can find out."

Since there is no answer, naturally there is no such thing as a solution to the distress of the world. Just looking at the book that the little father-in-law brought from the underworld, they can't even ask the question now, let alone explain it, so there is no way to do it. Monk, a master of Taoism?

This is not only the opinion of Mr. Zhuang, but also the opinion of the three.

It’s just that this idea will offend a lot of people, especially those from the Buddhist and Taoist families, so the four masters and disciples just talked to each other in their backyard.

But since it's time to talk about it, they don't mind expressing their opinions.

Bai Shandao: "There is too much knowledge in the world, what is available, what is unfinished, and people's lifespan, wisdom, and energy are all limited, so people should focus on it. Knowledge in the world is inexhaustible and inexhaustible. "

Wisdom understood what he meant, "The three benefactors are not interested in or understand Buddhism. How can they easily assert that Buddhism is misleading?"

Bai Shan and Man Bao couldn’t help. Even Bai Erlang heard his complaints. He couldn’t help but said: “We haven’t read Buddhist scriptures deeply, but it’s not that we don’t know Buddhism. Forcing the world to agree."

Bai Shan glanced at Bai Erlang with disapproval, before he had time to speak, Zhishen had already said: "Master Zhou talks about the Buddha in the court, let your majesty despise the Buddha, and your majesty is the ruler of the sky. What is this not forcing?"

"Buddha and Dao!" Man Bao emphasized: "I am not talking about Buddha, but Buddha and Dao!"

  Monk Zhishen:...

"Emperors have always believed in Buddhism and Taoism, and there are hidden dangers, ranging from erring to the country, or destroying the country. I am an official of the imperial court. I have just said that your Majesty is the ruler of the heavens. It is the rule of the heavens. After Buddhism and Taoism, there are hundreds of schools such as Confucianism, law, soldiers, and ink. He should not be too biased. There are hundreds of schools in the world. Which one."

Man Bao looked at Zhishen who was sitting across from him and said seriously: "And among these, the Buddhist school is the least likely to be beneficial to the rule of the people."

Zhishen did not expect that she would directly talk about politics. Seeing that she was so determined, she smiled and asked, “Why is this? The mystery of Buddhism. If all people learn Buddhism to be good, there will be fewer disasters in the world.”

Bai Shan asked faintly: "Are the monks in Huguo Temple not resentful, love parting, five-yin prosperous, and imposing?"

Zhiduo was taken aback for a moment and said, "Yes, even the poor monks can't escape from these four sufferings."

"The monks who chant in the monastery sooner or later can't get rid of these four sufferings, let alone the people." Bai Shan said: "Since there are these four sufferings, they can't get rid of birth, aging, sickness, and death. There are still a lot of jealousy and disputes that should be there. The disasters in the world will not be reduced by this."
