Fastest Level Up!
Chapter 4 - 4: Yumemi Dungeon
The next day.
I was thinking about which dungeon I should go to, while looking at the list of dungeons I had captured so far.
Honestly, if it's about efficiency, Yunagi Dungeon is the best. Because it can be captured in the span of two hours. And it will raise my level by 5. Therefore, if I challenged it five times a day, it would raise my level by 25.
However, there is only one problem. Yunagi dungeon has the most abundant dungeon resources among D rank dungeons. For that reason, there are many adventurers at Yunagi Dungeon as it is quite easy to earn some money. And I was one of them.
Hence, it was quite crowded as there are many trade-in shops outside the dungeon.. If there are too many adventurers, there is a risk that someone would witness me disappearing after activating [Transfer Within Dungeon]. If possible, I want to avoid that.
Which means, a place where there are only a few people like Shion Dungeon would be good…
If it's Shion Dungeon, it can be captured in about an hour. And raise my level by 1. But compared to Yunagi Dungeon, the efficiency is somewhat inferior. Moreover, the dungeon resources from Shion Dungeon are hardly profitable, so I'd like to avoid it if possible.
"In that case… Here, huh…"
D rank dungeon [Yumemi Dungeon]
The difficulty is high for a D-rank dungeon and it takes nearly 3 hours to capture. On the other hand, the level up reward is a bit higher as it is 7 level-ups. Other than that, the magic stone dropped from Yumemi Dungeon can be sold for about 10,000 yen. So, if I challenge the dungeon three times, my level will rise by 21 and I'll earn 30,000 yen in addition.
Furthermore, as a peculiarity of Yumemi Dungeon, only a little experience can be obtained by the monster that appeared along the way and the selling prices of the dungeon resources obtained in the dungeon are low.
Those peculiarities that are normally seen as demerits were very favourable for me right now. In other words, this dungeon was not very popular with adventurers and so, people would hardly notice me.
"That settles it."
After finishing my preparation, I took the train to Yumemi dungeon which was an hour away from my home.
When I arrived at the Yumemi Dungeon, it was as unpopular as I imagined it to be. In front of the gate, there is only one supervisor who checks the levels of adventurers who were going to challenge the dungeon.
For the sake of preventing an accident from occurring, D-rank dungeons or higher have a level restriction to enter. It was level 70 for solo and an average of level 50 for a party in Yumemi Dungeon.
I hid a little away from the entrance of the dungeon so I won't get caught by the dungeon's supervisor before activating my skill [Transfer Within Dungeon]. The distance was 20 meters. And the activation time was 20 x 3 which was 60 seconds.
After a minute of silence, the skill was successfully activated and I safely entered Yumemi Dungeon.
"Well, shall we go?"
I started to move while recalling the memories of the times I captured this dungeon. Other than the dungeon's boss, there are 3 types of monsters that appeared in Yumemi Dungeon. Goblin, Kobold, and Gray Wolf, in ascending order in terms of strength.
However, this dungeon was quite easy for solo capturing as there are no monsters with attacks that caused abnormal conditions.
I carefully walked through the dungeon while holding a dagger in my hand.
This dagger was called[Yumemi Dagger]and I obtained it from my previous capture in this dungeon. It is a very excellent weapon, as expected of a weapon that could only be obtained by defeating the boss solo in the first challenge. I've been using it since I got it.
"It came, huh."
I pointed my dagger towards the presence of the monsters. Then, three grey wolves, monsters with grey fur as a characteristic, appeared. They're quite troublesome monsters since they attacked with good coordination, however…
"…It's slow"
After dodging the grey wolves' attack, I promptly swung my dagger and inflicted damage to the gray wolves.
I had some difficulty when I captured this dungeon before, but my level was considerably higher than that time, so they are hardly my opponent.
I can already feel my growth just from the increase in my level and attribute value. Of course, the ability to fight is important, but I realized that raising my level was the most important in this world's level system.
I continued to walk after defeating the gray wolves in about a minute.
I avoided fighting the monsters that appeared along the way as much as possible and hurried straight to the boss room. Now was a good time as no one seemed to be fighting the boss right now.
Once I entered the boss room, the entrance closed automatically. The entrance won't be opened until the boss is defeated. That's why I needed to wait if someone has already challenged the boss before me, which was quite troublesome.
At any rate, I need to concentrate on the boss right now. The boss in Yumemi Dungeon is Harpy, a monster with the face of a woman and a half-human, half-bird body. It sings a song that induces drowsiness as its characteristic but honestly, it wasn't that much of a threat since I am at the level where I can withstand it with my spirit.
More importantly, it fundamentally circles in the air and only comes down when attacking, so it was more troublesome as it's hard to attack from the ground.
Previously, it would take more time to defeat the harpy because of that. However, it should be easier this time. After that time, I obtained a new skill so I wouldn't be troubled if I fell into the same situation again.
And that skill is [Beginner Magic]. I can activate the four attributes of magic-fire, water, wind, and earth. Even though the power isn't that strong, it is a valuable long-distance attack.
"And thus, let's use it without delay, Fireball!"
Aiming at the Harpy in the air, I persistently cast the magic over and over again. Then, I flashed my dagger at the time when Harpy, who dislikes a defensive battle, came down for a counterattack. Thus, I succeeded in subjugating the Harpy without any difficulty.
