My worst fear has finally come to light. The devil himself is gazing at me dead in my eye, just like all those years ago. I feel my hair stand on end when he smirks. It's like he can smell my unease.

His hair is the darkest of black, as if it was night itself. No doubt he's handsome, but he is a god so that's expected. Sword-like eyebrows and piercing silver eyes look as if they could see into the deepest part of my soul. As if he can unearth all of my secrets.

"My dearest, You've finally arrived." His voice appears inside of my mind. Terror racks through my entire body. 'He's...here!' No! No! This can't be happening. I am happy! I am doing great! Why!? I've been a good person since I've arrived, if you were good to me I returned it with similar feelings. Why does he have to show up now at all times! Right when I was starting to feel normal for the first time in my life!

"Are you not happy to see me?" His voice is laced with unconcealed anger. Tears spring to my eyes and I try my hardest to push them back. No! I must be strong! All those years of training in this world cannot go to waist all because of a moment of weakness.

Suddenly, as if I'm wounded by some invisible rope, I am lulled in towards the direction of my parents' murderer.....Rowan. The closer I get, the more I can see his face clearly. The first word that comes to mind is pure evil.

My back is drenched in cold sweat. I have to be brave.

When the force pulling me stops, I'm left standing in front of the man who single handedly ruined my life in one night. I can hear his erratic breathing, a crazed look in his eyes. My breathe hitches when our gazes connect. His eyes are just the same as back then, cold and devoid of humanity.

His hand reaches out to ċȧrėss my face, but right as his palm touched my skin he pulls back as if he had been burnt. A red abrasion appears on his fair hand. It's a glaring sight, standing out.

"Ouch-, he shakes his hand to settle the pain. Though, his face is calm, like it doesn't bother him.....I can't read him. It's like he's some cold, unfeeling stone. Immune to all emotions.

"Looks like someone is trying to stop me from claiming you." He encircles me like a predator, eyeing his prey. Then, he stops, at least a hairs breath away from ear and whispers, "But that's okay, I love a good game of cat and mouse."

It's funny, that, I've always imagined what it would be like if I ever met Rowan again. The kind of torture I would inflict on him, the methods I'd use. And now He's right in front of me and I can't do anything.

"Child." A familiar voice appears inside of my head. It's the moon goddess.

"Ah, good. I see you haven't forgotten me." I mean it's only been, what? Two days since we last talked how could I forget her.

"Child I've come to provide you with ȧssistance. I am the one who brought you here. But, before you get mad, listen to what my reasons for doing this are."

"Okay."

"You are going too slow. There's a war coming and I need you to get over the demons in your heart, else you'll succumb to them when the world needs you the most. You are also getting too comfortable. Everything is going easy for you, things that you need just pop up without you having to look for it. It's delaying your progress.

When you fight with an enemy I want you to defeat them in three moves at most. Force them to retreat, don't give them any chance to take advantage of an opening.

I also have a problem with the way you fight.

You're dependent on a few elements and completely ignore the rest, what's up with that? Listen hun, I only want the best for you, and that means that you're gonna have to start practicing fiercely.

Why leave your enemies alive and toy with them? You have bigger fish to fry okay sweetie. I believe you know what I'm hinting at. I have to go now before he discovers my presence, good luck child."

Her departure is swift, she doesn't stay around for a second more. Almost as if she's running away from something. Thinking back to her words..she's right. Everything is going easy for me, and it's because I haven't met anything that was a real challenge. So I've been slacking. I feel ashamed.

*snap snap*

"Earth to Bai Han, or should I say Melia...what's going on inside of that pretty little head of yours?" He snaps his fingers in front of my face, breaking me out of my daze.

"You looking at me with those innocent eyes makes me want to open up your head to see what's exactly inside. Why do you act so calm, hmm?" His gaze on me becomes more twisted. I can see the screws in Rowan's mind twisting with sadistic thoughts.

"I'm not scared of you." Finally, I open up my mouth to speak. He seems surprised by my words, they came out in a whisper.

"I'm sorry, what did you say?" He asks in a deep voice.

"Did I stutter? I said, I.Am.Not.Afraid.Of.You! Gosh, it's like you have hearing problems." I shout with vigor. Either it's the adrenaline running in my veins, or I've been injected with chickens' blood but I feel empowered.

"Ha, sweet, naive Melia. Sigh, I know that you're scared. You're just using insults to mask your fear-,

He then takes a deep sniff of my hair. "But the scent is so strong on you it's hard to miss it."
