Hold On

Pain Ends

"What happened next?" I ask hesitantly. Why is the Jade Emperor helping me?

"Next, they went through 77 reincarnation cycles, though it would have been 78 had Jun Qiang not been deceitful. Look child, Everything you learnt earlier...forget it. I mean, don't entirely let go of all your knowledge use it as your base, but do not attach too much importance to it. I am going to help you strengthen your base, it will be so strong that you wouldn't dare second guess yourself. And until I am sure that you understand everything that I am going to impart onto you, you will not be able to leave this place." His voice is so might that it booms throughout the entire field, leaving me no choice but to obey. The Jade Emperor's oppressive aura is just too much for an ordinary soul like mine to compete against.

"Will anyone notice my absence?" I ask. Just thinking about my loved one's and me being away from them for too long brings an unbearable ache to my heart. I've just now finally started to fit in, I don't want to loose something so precious like that again. I can't, being lonely is just so dark and constricting. I don't want to ever be put inside that dark place again. I just can't.

"No young one. Your absence from the world will go unnoticed. I've frozen time there for a certain period so that I can get you up to date with all you need to know. Living up to a prophecy is not something you can do on your own. And it shouldn't be handled so nonchalantly. You dear child, need a teacher. Not a drunk one, and certainly not a teacher that comes with a two year expiration date.

I am going to mold you to become an unstoppable force.

These worlds. They are my children. I cannot bear it, if they were to be destroyed because of human greed. There's also the fact that worlds are not something you can so easily dispose of. But then I don't think that's something you'd be able to understand. Just be a good pupil and all will go well."

And that is what happened. After that I spent my days doing menial tasks that the heavenly emperor set for me. Tending to the garden, weeding the soil, feeding the buŧŧerflies. Quite ordinary.

I don't know what he intends to do by laying out these chores for me finish, but I won't question it. A being like me has a mind to small to think so calculating. Unable to measure up to an actual god, even if I had managed to in my past life.

My days were mundane and monotonous but filled with a feeling of fulfillment that made me immune to it all.

I still thought about them. My family. Friend. Sebastian. They were always on my mind. A driving force in my heart that made it so that even if I were about to give up, I couldn't. For them. I will continue. For them I will hold on.
