Finding Stardust

207 Let's Go Watch The Festival Together

Meanwhile, Xion looked away from the couple and suddenly seemed very interested in the small yellow flower growing next to him. He plucked the flower, smelled the fragrance, and nodded several times, like he was a scientist doing research on all different flowes.

"Ahem," Emma frowned and glanced at Xion. Therius understood what she meant. He immediately patted his friend's shoulder and pulled him away from the insignificant yellow flower.

"Xion. I have good news for you," said Therius. His face was radiant. "Tomorrow Emma and I are getting married."

Xion looked very surprised to hear the news uttered by his friend.

Getting Married? Tomorrow? Why, all of a sudden? Wasn't Emma currently mourning? Her father just died and Haoran too. This is totally unexpected.

Xion turned to Emma and tried to examine her expression ...

Was Emma forced to do this?

"Did you ... agree with this?" Xion asked Emma attentively. Right now, he only wanted to hear from Emma's lips that she was indeed willing to get married Therius of her own accord. Even though the crown prince was his best friend, it didn't mean that Xion would be happy if he saw Therius get what he wanted by force.

After all ... Emma was already considered one of 'them'. Xion would not let her suffer and be bullied into something she didn't want, even if it was by his own best friend.

Emma nodded. Her face looked cold as she answered Xion's question. "This is a political marriage, isn't it? Nothing uncommon about it. I think I can learn to do it."

The man furrowed his brows. Politics was not his forte and he would always choose to stay the hell out of it.

"Very well then," said Xion finally. He stared at Emma for a moment and then sighed. His face was finally decorated with a smile. "I guess I should congratulate you two."

"Tomorrow, you must come to the chapel to witness our wedding," said Therius. "King Cassius will be there. So please wear nice clothes."

Xion coughed at Therius' last sentence. His face turned sullen, but he did not argue. He was a man of simplicity. He didn't like dressing up. However.. a wedding between his friends and meeting the king would be a good enough excuse for him do just that. Oh well... dammit.

"Congratulations on this big decision. I hope you both will always be happy," said Xion. He opened his arms and finally hugged Emma warmly. He patted her back softly. After he let go of the girl, Xion turned to Therius and hugged him too. "Watch out, don't you dare make her cry."

He threatened the man with a serious tone.

Therius rolled his eyes. "Hey, you know I would never do that."

Therius promised him an adventure to visit a new planet, but they were barely exploring, and from the last 7 months he only experienced headache. He had enough of it already.

Therius nodded in understanding. "I'll have Avato take you."

"Tsss... no need. I'm not a child that needs to be taken care of," Xion commented. Suddenly, he remembered that he had invited Emma to come to the Three Moon Fire festival. He became uneasy when he thought that tomorrow, the couple would get married. "By the way, Therius .. I asked Emma earlier to see the Three Moon Fire festival in the city plaza. What do you think? I didn't know you two are getting married tomorrow. Emma didn't tell me."

He shot Emma an accusing look. He was eager to shift the blame because he didn't want Therius to think he intentionally invited someone else's wife to have a good time the night before the wedding.

"I haven't had time to tell you," said Emma, glaring.

Therius looked pensive. He actually wanted to spend a special night watching the three moons in the Akkadian sky with Emma, alone. Then he would take the opportunity to properly propose to the girl.

However, considering that Xion had already invited Emma down to the city plaza to watch the festival, tomorrow his best friend would leave, Therius couldn't possibly be selfish and told Xion to go alone.

"It's okay, tonight we can come to the festival together," said Therius. "This is Emma's first time. We have to make it a special experience. But, I need to be with her for a moment before the festival. Would you be okay with it?"

Xion shrugged. "Of course. The festival usually starts at 8 pm, but the fun won't start until after nine. We can meet here at nine and go together."

"Good idea," said Therius. He ruffled Emma's hair and smiled. "I have something to discuss with you before the festival. Would you like to come with me after sunset?"

Emma suspected that something had happened at the royal court that Therius wanted to discuss with her alone. Therefore, she nodded.

"Of course."

"Alright ... It's dinner time soon. Let's wash up and meet in the dining room."

They all nodded in agreement.

During dinner, Therius looked a little restless. After all, tonight was an important night for him. He wanted to propose to Emma and he wanted to do it well. He had consulted Avato, his confidant who was known as a ladies man, for the best advice on how to propose to the woman he loved.

I wish Aeron were nearby, he thought. His friend from the academy was the best Casanova he had ever known. Not a single woman could resist his charm and his conquers became a legend among all the male students in the academy.

By the way, where's Aeron now?
