Fist of Imagination

Postscript to Volume 3 and the Dream of Bad Money

Hello everyone, I am Du Tingbei, your loyal friend who updates every day.

The third volume of "Fist of Imagination" which took half a year to complete was finally completed yesterday. It is a bit exaggerated to say that I am full of emotion, but I still have some emotion.

I opened Word and thought carefully, and found that I actually have nothing to say except emotion.

So this postscript is mainly based on my emotion, and there are also some messy things added in.

First is the review part.

From February 24 to August 25, the third volume was written for exactly half a year, specifically 183 days. The number of words in this volume is similar to the second volume, but it took more than twice as long.

Many unexpected things happened in the past six months. There were several periods of time that made me feel very heavy and slow. It felt very long, but now looking back, it feels fast.

Everything is fast, even Zhou Zhou quickly grew from a two-pound kitten to a nine-pound and two-ounce fat tiger, only my typing speed is still not fast enough.

"The Fist of Imagination" began serialization on August 12, 2019. So far, a total of 840,000 words have been written, with an average monthly update of 70,000 words and an average daily update of 2,333,333 words.

On Qidian, you can get a full attendance award if you update 120,000 words uninterruptedly every month. It can be considered that this is the basic requirement of the platform for authors. If you meet this requirement, you are a qualified online writer.

According to this standard, I am still 41.7% away from being qualified.

Today I read an interview with Mr. Heiye Mitian on the Writer Assistant APP. He said: "A qualified online writer writes for twelve hours, sleeps for eight hours, and thinks for the remaining four hours."

If this standard is used, I am still ten thousand years away from being qualified.

In short, no matter which standard is used, I am an out-and-out lame author.

Half a year ago, I wrote in the postscript of the second volume:

"It is easy for a person to be a slacker once, but it is difficult to be a slacker for a lifetime, but I have never been a person who is afraid of difficulties and risks. In order to fill the gap in the field of serious literature, I decided to continue to be a slacker and strive to become a slacker watcher. Please watch my performance!"

In fact, I really just wanted to make a joke at the time, and I typed this paragraph with a smile.

I didn't expect that my words would come true, and I kept on slacking, and it seemed that there was a phenomenon of slacking from person to person.

In the chapters of some works asking for leave, I often see highly praised comments such as "Please kill Du and stop drinking", and at this time I can only hide and shrink my head, sob.

Fortunately, all readers are magnanimous and compassionate, and have not given up on me who have not given up and "The Fist of Lacking".

As of now, "The Fist of Imagination" ranks 268th in the monthly votes of the entire site, 443rd in the recommended votes, 4435 in the high subscriptions, and 2670 in the average subscriptions, which has increased to more than three times the first subscription, and is only one step away from being a boutique... I still don't set this flag.

The ultimate lame Du Tingbei can still afford to eat, and everyone here has made an unshirkable contribution.

Du Gou is grateful and sobbing.

I have no way to repay you, and I can't promise to write a good story.

But I will keep writing, strive to be less lame than yesterday every day, and strive for every "tomorrow" of "see you tomorrow" to be a real tomorrow.

So you see, the most important thing in the adult world is to strive.

The most important word in the dictionary of adults is "struggle".

With the word "struggle", the ultimate lame can also brag.

So, as many magician friends often think, what will happen in the future?

What will happen in the future, we will talk about it later.

There is a long way to go, please watch my performance in the future.

The review session ends here, and the following is the Q\u0026A session, which mainly answers the questions that are more common in the comment area, and also talks about my thoughts on the fourth volume.

The first type of problem is that the plot is a bit dragged out and has not entered the main line for a long time.

I think the main reason for this problem is that the author updates the book poorly.

It has been more than half a year since Ade entered Sheng Wuxu Private High School, which is not as long as the serialization time of "The Fist of La Ku".

In the past six months, Mr. Liang has actually made many attempts and experienced many things.

Before starting the journey to the end of the world, he had made all-round physical and mental preparations, had a few good friends, no longer felt empty, and no longer so impatient. This was the task to be completed in the first three volumes, and now it has basically been completed.

If one volume is written in two months, the viewing experience should be different.

So, why can't you write one volume in two months, Du Gou?

Hmm... I will answer this question another day.

The second type of problem is that the plot is too jumpy, and sometimes the sense of fragmentation is very serious.

For this problem, I have explained part of the reason in the La Ku article after Chapter 91 of Volume 3, which is about the outline, the detailed outline and the anus.

I am a person who has no perseverance. I wrote a detailed outline halfway through, and suddenly I felt that my past self thought it was interesting, and I didn’t want to write according to the previous plan at all, so I temporarily changed it, or forced some other plots in, making the original structure fragmented and very ugly.

So before starting the fourth volume, I will spend a few days reading the detailed outline several times, and I will resolutely not change it after it is finalized, to see if it will be better this way.

The third type of question is to ask whether "The Demon Hunter" has eunuchs.

Friends, as the number one fan of Tea Teacher, I want to emphasize again:

Tea Teacher is determined to make progress, and "The Demon Exorcist" will be updated every day.

If not today, then tomorrow. There are still five days left in August. I believe that Tea Teacher will update!

It's time to review the first three episodes of "The Demon Exorcist"!

Finally, let's talk about my dream of making money.

After half a year of lagging, my dream of making money has been riddled with holes and is in tatters.

The dream of making money fights the lagging person, and the result is that the dream of making money is defeated.

But I still have a dream, and my dream is broken but my will is strong. As long as I don't make money, I won't stop.

My senior brother Tai Gongchong told me that as long as I insist on updating twice a day, I will definitely make money, but I think he thinks it's too easy. If you want to make money, in addition to the update speed, you should also adjust the form of the story.

I like to do some fancy operations, chase hot spots, and play new memes, but in fact, the simpler things will not be outdated.

Complexity will be fragmented, and simplicity can be condensed.

Starting from the next volume, I will try to tell simple and kingly stories and explore my own way to make money.

Mistakes are bound to happen when trying, and mistakes lead to failure, but failure has been an integral part of human nature since ancient times, and we should forgive it with a smile.

No one is perfect without failure.

There is nothing better than being able to correct failure.

No matter how terrible or embarrassing yesterday was, you can still get up and start again the next morning.

As for me, it may take me a long time to make corrections, but I believe that tomorrow will be better than yesterday.

Thank you, everyone, and see you tomorrow[1].

[1] “Tomorrow” refers to the day after the detailed outline is finalized.

I recommend a book called “I Just Want to Be Self-reliant” by Zhongqiu Yueming. This is the latest work of Zhongqiu Yueming, a hardworking author who has been updating for ten years, producing more than 30 million words, with an average of more than 10,000 updates per day, and who does not take leave even if he has a broken bone! I had no choice before, but now I just want to be self-reliant!
