Chapter 3.1

The next day, Ning Qingqing and Shen Zhiqian went on a business trip together.

Ning Qingqing double majored in finance and law at university, but after graduation, there were some changes within the Shen family. Shen Zhiqian needed someone from his own people to keep an eye on the contracts at the company, so she worked at his family’s company as a contract specialist.

Just this morning, a call came from Haicheng1 saying that there was a contract dispute between the company and the supplier that needed to be dealt with. Ning Qingqing went along with the company’s legal affairs team, while Shen Zhiqian went with the market research department to meet with alternative suppliers.

The two had been very busy in the past two days. Except for a ‘good night’ message at night, they hardly ever had any contact. Although they both lived in the same hotel, they never met.

It was not until Saturday morning that Ning Qingqing finally negotiated and resolved the problem. She picked up the phone and was about to send a message to Shen Zhiqian when the man appeared in front of her.

His eyes displayed a rare trace of fatigue, but once he saw her he handed her a bag: “These are local snacks gifted by the customer, try it.”

Ning Qingqing took it and asked, “Are you all done?”

“Yeah.” Shen Zhiqian said, “I heard from Assistant Wu that your side is going well too?”

“That’s right, it’s all settled.” Ning Qingqing said, “When will we return to Beijing?”

Shen Zhiqian smiled: “Did you forget what day it is today?”

Ning Qingqing was stunned for a moment and then realized that today was April 11th, the day when Shen Zhiqian confessed to her.

In the first year of high school, one month after Shen Zhiqian confessed, she agreed to be his girlfriend.

“Remember now?” The man helped her carry her briefcase: “Let’s go upstairs and pack our luggage. The plane takes off in two hours.”

When the two came out of the Beijing Airport, it was past two o’clock in the afternoon, and the driver was already waiting at the domestic arrival exit. Along the way, Ning Qingqing fell asleep unknowingly because she was also a little tired.

When she woke up, she found that she was covered with a thin blanket, her head was resting on Shen Zhiqian’s shoulder, and the man had his eyes closed and was resting.

“Mr. Shen, we’ve arrived.” The driver stopped the car in front of a clubhouse.

Ning Qingqing looked at the name of the clubhouse and it felt a little familiar for no reason, but at the moment she couldn’t remember where she had heard this name.

Being a light sleeper, Shen Zhiqian opened his eyes when he heard the driver’s words: “We’ve arrived?” After that, he opened the door to get out of the car and then opened the door for Ning Qingqing.

He took Ning Qingqing’s hand and walked into the clubhouse, and a waiter greeted him, “Sir, do you have a reservation?”

Shen Zhiqian replied, “Private room No. 103.”

Ning Qingqing had already sensed something wasn’t right, and when the private room door opened and all eyes in the private room focused on them, she finally remembered where she had heard the name of this club!
