Flower on the ash

We walked and walked until we reached our first mystery point in the east. This area doesn't had any trees. All baren. I took small steps on until I walked over something and it made a sound like I broke something. I looked down to see a white colored stick. I bent down to see what exactly it was. I brushed some sand which was covering it and took out the white stick.

"Ahhh!!!" I screamed loudly and threw away the thing I was holding. It wasn't a white stick but arm bone of a human. Alex quickly ran towards me when he heard me screaming and squat down beside me.

" What happened?" he asked holding one of my hand.

" See there." I said in a shaky voice and pointed my finger towards the bone. He left my hand and walked towards the bone. He lifted it up and was checking it like a forensic doctor.

He suddenly started laughing leaving me in daze.

" What happened? Why are you laughing?" I asked him.

" You... Can't you even tell that it's fake?" he said laughing hard. I walked towards where he was standing.

" Look at this. It's fake." he said and forwarded the bone towards me. I held it with shaky hands.

" How do you know that it's fake?" I asked him.

" Because it is not as strong as a real bone." he said.

" Maybe we will find our next mystery box here only. Let's search the area." he said and started to search here and there. I also started searching when I heard Alex's voice.

" Come here Anna." he said loudly. I walked towards where he was.

" Yes?" I said raising my eyebrow.

" Look what I have found." he said pointing towards something on the ground.

" A grave?" I asked him. Are we going to dig a grave now.

" Yes. The mystery box is inside." he said. I quickly turned around to see a shovel was also there. I quickly ran towards it, not very fast because of the dress I was wearing and grabbed it.

" Step aside." I said to Alex and moved my hand upwards in the air to dig the ground when Alex held my hand.

" What?" I asked him confused.

" Let me do it. You're pregnant." he said and took the shovel from my hand. I nodded my head and stepped away. He started to dig the ground. After fifteen minutes of digging, the shovel made a sound like hitting a metal. Alex bent down and took out another golden box.

" You did it! Open it now." I said excitedly.

" It can't be opened. It's locked." he said examining the mystery box. My excitement faded away.

" Let's head where the next mystery box is." Alex said giving the box to me. It was of the same size as previous one. I started to follow him. The baren land ended and now we were again surrounded by trees.

We walked and walked but now I was feeling thirsty. The sun was so bright now. If we were not surrounded by the trees we would have already became dry leaves. I found a big rock under a tree and walked towards it.

" Alex." I said to get his attention. I sat on the rock and took a long breathe to relax myself. As I said he turned to looked at me. He saw me sitting so he walked where I was.

" What happened?" he asked looking down at me.

" I can't walk now. I'm thirsty." I said to him.

" Stay here." he said and walked away.

" Hey where are you going? Atleast tell me!" I shouted but he didn't listen.

'What an idiot!' I mummered to myself. Everything was silent only chirping of birds could be heard. I closed my eyes and leaned on the tree trunk behind me. I stayed there like fifteen minutes when I heard someone's footstep. I opened my eyes to see it was Alex.

" Here." he said and handed me a cup made of leaves.

" You made it?" I asked surprised. He brought me water in a hand-made up.

" Yep. There's a river at a distance. I got you water in it as I didn't have any container with me." he said. I smiled.

" Thanks." I gulped down the water.

" Here. Take this also." he said giving me an apple.

" Where did you get these?" I asked taking it from his hand. Alex always caughts me off guard.

" Near the same river." he said.

" Why didn't you get it for yourself too?" I asked taking a bite from the apple. It was sweet.

" I did. I ate it on the way here." he said. I nodded my head and ate the whole apple while Alex stood there waiting for me to finish. I finished my apple and stood up energetically. All my energy was refilled now.
