For You
9 Auditions 3
"Amelie, it feels like it's been years even though we met only yesterday. You visited the shop today. I wish I could have said other things to you. Something more than 'Have a nice day' and 'How are you doing?' I wish I could have been that man standing by your side, able to love you in public. You know he doesn't love you, right? He has many other women. I've seen him come into the shop with three other ladies, loving them the same way he does with you."
He ran his hand through his hair, "What do you mean that he is your responsibility? You don't have to stay with that womanizer! So what if you married him!"
"Please, Amelie... please," he pleaded, falling to his knees.
"Please... don't leave."
Daniel fell to the floor and sobbed on the floor, his body shaking.
He got up from the floor and bowed towards the judges.
Reginald nodded at Daniel. "Your acting is alright, but the scenario seems to be very cliche. You don't seem to have a very strong imagination, and I felt like I was watching an act, not an actual event. We want the acting to be so seamless that you can't tell that the actors and actresses are just playing parts. Overall, you did a good job. If you get accepted, we can train you and turn you into a great actor."
Sarah looked at Reginald and pointed her finger at him. "No, I don't think you are right. He's done very well. His emotions were examples of what emotions should be like."
Reginald scoffed, "Sure, it was a great example, a textbook example. It needs some personalization, not just a copy of it. It's like when you present to the class. We want some extra things, things that aren't on the slides. We don't want to watch someone read off the slides."
She nodded. "I see what you mean. However, he was still very good for a beginner."
Oliver spoke up, butting into their debate, "Why don't we listen to his singing? Martin told us that he had the potential to become an idol."
Reginald nodded. "We should also have Sam sing, he has a very wide range, and I'd like to hear it put to use."
Wess nodded, his teal hair bobbing up and down. "I can't wait to hear them." He looked towards Daniel. "So, what song are you going to sing?"
"I'm thinking of singing 'Way Down' by KALEO."
"Okay, let's hear it," said Reginald.
Daniel tapped his foot rhythmically. When he opened his mouth to sing, the deep timbre of Daniel's voice gave the judges chills. Sam listened with interest, tapping his foot and nodding along with the song.
When Daniel finished singing, Wess stood up and clapped. "That was pretty good. There could be some improvement in the arrangement of the song. I can also tell that you don't have a large enough lung capacity, but we can work on that and sing songs that don't have notes that trail off."
"I don't know much about music, but I know that this gave me chills, and only good music does this," Sarah complimented.
"That was pretty good, and Wess has said all of the advice you need," agreed Reginald.
"Okay, Sam, please, your turn."
Sam nodded and walked to where Daniel was standing. He high-fived Daniel. "I'm passing the baton back to you, "said Daniel as he left.
"So, Sam, what song are you going to sing for us?" asked Sarah as she propped up her head on her hands, dainty fingers intertwined.
"I'm going to sing 'Human' by Rag'n'Bone Man."
"Ooh, I love that song!" said Oliver, his eyes glittering as he looked at Sam.
"Please begin."
Sam nodded and looked down at the floor before taking a deep breath and beginnning to sing.
"I'm only human..."
Oliver smiled as he enjoyed Sam's voice. Sam's voice dropped low at the end of the song and Wess smiled, impressed by Sam's deep range.
When Sam finished the song, Oliver stood up and clapped. "I'm so glad that you didn't ruin my favorite song, in fact, I think I like your version better." (Author: Suck up...)
Wess clapped too. "I think your range is very impressive. The high notes were on point, and so were your low notes. You can sing lower than me, but I can sing a bit higher than you, heh." Wess smiled childishly. Oliver shot a glare at Wess.
"You have a really large breath capacity. Let me guess, swimming?"
"Yes, I do swimming. I was in the nationals last year."
"That's pretty impressive, I barely know how to swim." Wess sighed.
Sarah smiled at Sam, "You're really good, I can't believe you're so young. You're 16, right?"
"Yes." Sam nodded.
Reginald sighed. "Back when I was your age, I was playing around with other teens in a gang. I was not a good kid, but those were the good old golden times," he said nostalgically.
Everyone stared at him.
This proper old man used to be a gangster?
They were all in disbelief.
"Nevermind my past, let's get back on topic."
No, we want to hear more!
