Forbidden Zone of the Human Race
Chapter 430
Xiang Ning looked at all the students who were staring like hungry wolves with green, glowing eyes and yelled, “Stay… stay back.”
If he hadn’t run or pleaded like that, the students would have been calmer, but somehow, that yell only made it more fun to chase him.
Looking at the crowd, he made his decision. He had initially changed his mind about jumping over the wall, since it was a bad influence, but now he had no choice!
Xiang Ning jumped and flipped over the two-meter-tall wall, landing softly on the ground. He had just taken off when he heard a commotion behind him. He turned and his eyes widened. “Fuck! Aren’t you guys afraid of being punished?!”
“Quick, catch Teacher Xiang Ning!”
It was easy for a few of the more capable students to flip over the two-meter-tall wall.
Xiang Ning flipped back into the school. They were being too unreasonable! Now if they were going to be punished, wouldn’t they blame him for it? No, no, that wouldn’t do. He must play by their rules and run out of the school gates instead.
Thus, the students who had flipped out of the school now leaped back inside. The hawker stall owners outside were stunned. Was this the children’s idea of fun these days? Leaping over walls together? But when they saw Xiang Ning, they had other thoughts.
“Isn’t that Xiang Ning? “
“They’re training, are they?”
“They probably are, I don’t think they’d do this for no reason.”
Then they continued running their stalls. Only the students having breakfast at the stalls scoffed, They aren’t training! The stall owners must have holes for brains.
Xiang Ning escaped from the school with great difficulty, then met Fang Rou standing by the road.
“Little… Little Rou.”
Seeing the disheveled Xiang Ning, she covered her mouth to laugh but quickly understood the situation. “Can’t believe you’re so welcomed there.”
Xiang Ning scratched his head. “Don’t tease me.”
Noticing the leave application in his hand, Fang Rou was disappointed, but then she mustered up her spirits to look at him and ask, “When are you leaving?”
“Probably today.”
Her pupils shrank. She had known he would be leaving Marsh City, but she didn’t know it would be so soon!
“Where… where are you going?”
Xiang Ning didn't reply, instead taking out a bangle from his dimensional ring. It was a wrist bangle he had personally made for her, silvery-white intertwined with a vine pattern. It didn’t look very special, but it was completely made by him.
“Uh… I didn’t know what to give you, so I made you a bangle. It doesn’t look that good but I… I hope you like it.” He scratched his head, giving it to her.
…...
At nine in the morning, Xiang Ning boarded the train heading to Kunlun City alone. That was the place he had chosen to cultivate in. It was also called Beast Paradise, or Home of the Hunters. It contained beasts much stronger than in other places, also more hunters that were chasing riches.
Kunlun City was situated in Qinghai Province of China, at the foot of Mount Kunlun.
Mount Kunlun, or more specifically, the Kunlun Mountain Range, was a mystical mountain range divided into three sections: the eastern, western, and middle sections. Xiang Ning was heading to the western section, which had three mountains with peaks taller than seven thousand meters above sea level.
Before the Great Disaster, it was either brown or white, rarely green. Now, not only had humans and beasts changed, but plants had as well. After three hundred years of evolution, the terrain now had lakes, rivers, and forests among its many geographical features. Not only did the place contain powerful beasts, it also was a great source of medicinal herbs. Hunters often gathered herbs after their hunt and sold them at a good price in Kunlun City.
The herbs would then be sold to the world, making up thirty percent of the world’s herb supply. Even Westerners gathered there.
Xiang Ning arrived at Kunlun City at three in the morning. The weather was much colder than Marsh City; he walked alone out of the train station in a coat.

A hotel promoter sitting outside was falling asleep. “Can’t believe they want me on promoter duty in this cold weather. Look at the time! Why would anyone be out at this hour?” he angrily muttered to himself. There were promoters like him at every train station, looking to recommend their hotels to passengers who got off the train.
Xiang Ning exhaled a cloud of steam, rubbed his hands, and looked at the map on his watch.
“There’s actually someone.… Eh, brother, it’s late. Need a hotel? We have a warm spring, and you’ll get a discount since you’re checking in late,” the promoter of twenty-five- or twenty-six-years-old walked up to him with a smile.
Xiang Ning stopped. He was in a foreign place and hadn’t booked any hotels. After some thought, he nodded. “Is it close by?”
“It is, it is. Our hotel is the most reasonably priced out of all the hotels outside Kunlun station. It has very traditional-styled rooms, you’ll like it.”
As he spoke, he brought Xiang Ning to a hotel two hundred meters away. It was a six-story hotel with a bright ‘Hotel Liuyuan’ sign outside.
“Boss! I brought you a customer.”
Behind the counter was a young lady in her early twenties. She looked very gentle—was she the boss of this place?
“Hmph, are you slacking off again? It’s so late, what do you mean ‘a customer’?”
“Hey, boss, even you say there aren’t any customers, so why’d you put me on promoter duty at this hour?”
“That’s enough, where’s the customer?”
Xiang Ning was amused by the conversation. The way she spoke was completely mismatched with her looks. But he had great expectations for this place. “Hello, I’m looking to check in.” He stepped forward and smiled.
The boss lady’s eyes brightened. So there really was a customer! And he’s very handsome when he smiles! “Hi… hi. Are you here alone, handsome?”
“Yes.”
“Well… well, I recommend this suite for you. It has a two-meter-long bed and a projector screen. And a warm spring. Basically, it has everything your house has. Only 199 dollars per night. Right, since it’s already three in the morning, it’s only ninety-nine dollars for you. Check-out time is three in the afternoon.” The lady’s voice suddenly turned polite.
The promoter was stunned. If he read correctly, that room was worth 399 dollars, and although it was three in the morning, it was still worth at least two hundred. Also, checkout time was twelve, why did she say three? So that was ‘pretty privilege’.…
