Celestia's POV:

Amelia looked at me pitifully. Tangerine fluttered her wings uncontrollably, and she flew around me as she didn't want me to be sad.聽

But how can I resist my emotions? It is impossible not to feel sad when the man you love the most disobeys and leaves you to meet her former lady love.聽

"You have to resist your feelings, Celestia!" Amelia said after she read my mind. "You are not a normal entity. You are the Dawn and the Queen of Lowlands now. Since the King is missing now, you must step up and lead the Kingdom."

"Thank you for reminding me that I am the Queen," I said to her.聽

I am still not able to accept the fact that I am the Queen. It feels strange when someone calls me with this title. At least Theo was with me in the past. Now that he is gone, I don't even feel like myself.

"I see what your problem is here," Amelia began. "You have self-doubt, and you refuse to accept your worth. The rest of us in this realm have faith in you. So you, too, have faith in yourself, Celestia!"

Amelia was right. Ever since I was a kid, I always doubted myself. People around me always tend to have too many expectations from me. It terrifies me that everyone depends on me.聽

Darius told me that this is my fatal flaw. When I was in the Highlands, I hid this part of me from others. I managed to put on a mask of courage. After I got exiled from the Highlands, Theo was by my side. He aided me in every step I took.聽

"It is time for you to put on your mask of courage again," Amelia interrupted my thought cycle. "You were able to battle the Vampires alone, and you unleashed your Angelic powers all by yourself. Do you remember? Theo didn't aid you at that time. Still, you made it on your own."

That was an unforgettable moment for me. The powerful feeling of the enormous energy gushing all over my body was incredible! I was able to do that by myself. Theo didn't aide that time.聽

I recalled what Theo said to me after he woke up. He let the Vampires attack the lands and pretended to be unconscious. When I confronted him about that, he told me that he was confident that I would handle the situation.聽

"Exactly! Theo has faith in you. And one of the reasons why he was able to leave his people now is because he firmly believes that you can handle the responsibility of ruling the Lowlands until he returns," Amelia revealed to me.聽

Then I should not let him down by self-doubting myself. I have to put on my mask of courage and face my people boldly!

"Thank you so much for your advice! And thank you for being the only Siren who is nice to me."

She chuckled at my compliments and left the room.聽

I got dressed up in a long green gown, and I went out of my room. I was stunned when I saw Lord Magnus standing in the hallway.

It seems like he never left when I told him to do so. He was leaning on the wall, and he kept on tapping one of his legs on the floor. By his gesture, it was evident that he was nervous.聽

When he noticed me, his eyes glowed in delight. "Your Grace, thank you so much for showing up. My people are freaking out after they heard the news about his highness."

I am freaking out too! But I can't show it, unlike them. I am obligated to put on a mask of courage for the sake of Aiden.

"His highness is on a quest to end the Demon Princess Lilin. He is going to complete his quest very soon. You all need to be patient until then," I said out in a very bold tone that wasn't even mine.聽

"But my people are skeptical right now. Some think that the Demon Princess has captured the King. So can you please come out to the courtroom and tell the truth to our people? Only then the unrest in the lands will settle down," Lord Magnus pleaded with me.

It was difficult for me to keep on the mask of courage as my anxiety increased again. "Okay, then. Please assemble the courtroom? I will be there shortly!" I instructed him and ran back into my room.聽

I didn't wait for a response from him. I slammed the door shut and struggled to inhale air normally. I am going to face the people all by myself as their Queen. No one is going to be on the stage with me!聽

Half an hour later, I went down to the courtroom. I didn't have time to braid my golden locks, so I let them down.聽

But I wasn't wearing my regular walking shoes. I put on the green high heels that were in my closet because I have heard that Queens wear these kinds of shoes.聽

The whole courtroom stood up when I got in there. They all immediately bowed their heads to me in respect. I blankly walked to the stage while I held my lengthy gown a little up from the floor.聽

It was even more challenging to walk on the steps while wearing high heels and a gown that touches the floor. Somehow I managed to make it up to the stage.聽

I didn't sit on the emerald throne. I stood on the stage and faced my subjects. They all kept standing until I signaled my hand and told them all to sit down.聽

"I hope that every one of you has heard the news about the sudden disappearance of our King," I shouted out to everyone in a high tone. My throat began to hurt as I raised my voice.

I should not have screamed that much last night! Now I am unable to speak loudly. I am going to lower my voice for now. After this is over, I should tell witches to bring me a potion with honey.
