Forever Destined To The Silver Shadow

Chapter 229 - Silver Shadow Is The Hero Here

Aaron's POV:

"Do you really want to waste your time knowing about this? I would advise you to send your men in there now before the night ends in the Celestial realm."

"I don't care," I shouted out. "I need to know everything about this door and the Key of Infinity. Or else my boys won't take a step in there—"

Only after I fired out my words did I realize the mistake I made. There is a famous saying in Ashland that—never anger a Serpent girl.

Her emerald eyes started shining brighter as she got maddened. My fear made me move a step back from her. What if she bites me now?! I don't even have the strength to defend myself!

"I have told you a million times before that I do not intend to kill you," Lyra said after she read my thoughts. "If you want to waste your time with these talks, then so be it—"

I breathed out in relief after that. That was a close one! Lyra then flipped her long scaly tail, and in a blink of an eye, her tail disappeared, and she stood on her legs again.

Then she placed the fire torch that she had in her hand on the surface below next to the rock. She dusted off her hands and looked at me again. "Now, where were we?" she began.

"During the era of creation, the God of the light gave the light creatures bright and Highland to stay, while the Shadow creatures were tricked and sent to the bottom. Don't tell me that you are not aware of this too?"

"Come on; these are told as the bedtime tales for the little kids in my land," I sighed.

"Okay, then! So you know how the light and shadow forces were constantly in battle with each other. But still, both the forces were not completely enemies—they had a secret connection in the underground even from the creation era."

This is new! I almost didn't believe what she said. How can light and shadow forces have a secret connection?!

"The Fae King of the creation era was against the Shadow forces—but he was also a believer in peace. He thought that conflicts could be ended only with conversations. So he decided to build an underground cavern that connected both the Shadow and light realm together."

At that moment, the fire torch on the ground was blown off by the cool wind that made everything around me dark. The only thing that was visible to me now was her shiny green eyes.

I used to get scared by her eyes even when I saw them in the light. Now that everything was dark—I got a mini heartache when I saw them. But the light came again soon, and now Lyra was on her Serpent form again. I didn't see how she lit up the fire torch, but I am pretty sure that she uses her tail for that.

"So the Fae King built this cavern to connect both the realm of light and darkness?" I asked her once she stood on her legs again.

"Exactly," she replied. "And that is why there was no war between both the forces in the creation era—as both sides sorted out everything by having secret meetings down here."

Lyra took a moment to adjust her wavy green hair before she started to speak again. "And the Fae Kings who emerged later too followed the same tactics. They all believed that peace could be bought by creating a balance between both forces. But everything changed in the later medieval era when the tenth Fae King of the light realm sat down on the throne—"

"Oh, he is Oberon, isn't he?"

"Yes…" she responded. "The peace in the lands was disrupted only after Oberon became the King. He started to ignore meeting up with the dark forces in the cavern; he openly declared that only the light forces are superior to the Demonic entities—which instigated the anger of everyone in the Shadowland. Oberon is the only reason why the war between the Angels and Demons took place—"

I was fascinated by the story she told me. Even though I didn't know much about the light entities, I was told years ago that Oberon is the most righteous man ever.

Lyra chuckled a little after she read my thought. "Oberon is the biggest illusionist in all three realms. He managed to portray himself as a hero, while he is just the opposite of it."

I gasped. "And no one in the Celestial realm knows about his true face?"

"Not at all," she smiled. "But one of them knows—and it is none other than the great Silver Shadow. I am not aware of how Silver Shadow knows about Oberon's true face. That is still a mystery to me! But all I know is that Silver Shadow is the hero here—but Oberon made others believe that he is the bad guy."

This is even more shocking to me! So far, everyone has told me that Silver Shadow is a trickster—but he is the hero here?

"But Oberon is doing us a favor by making Silver Shadow a Villian," she went on. "Now the whole light realm is against the hero, and they believe the imposter Oberon. Your lover Lilin can easily complete her quest and diminish the side of light again if this situation continuous—"

I felt extremely happy! Lilin will complete her quest soon and reunite with me.

"Yes, she will! And now you are going to aid your lover by destroying the Dawn."

Then she handed over the key of infinity to me. "Once your boys get through the door, they will come across four more locked doors like this—and they can be opened only with this Key of Infinity. Now, are you clear about this whole thing?"

"Yes," I responded. "But I have one question. How did you get hands-on such a valuable artifact like this one?"

"Well, that is my superpower," she beamed. "I tend to lay hands on the stuff that everyone else considers invaluable—"
