Forever Destined To The Silver Shadow

Chapter 252 - Your Land Is Going To Burn...

Aaron's POV:

My brother Anakin refused to meet up with our father. And Lyra was pushing me to confess everything to the King of Incubus. So I have to face my father alone?!

I decided not to drag my younger brother along with me as he had already lost a hand. He is already suffering; I should not increase his burden even more! So I let Anakin stay in the Serpent girl's cottage while I went to the castle to meet my father.

It has been more than a day since that unfortunate event; still, no one in the land was aware that four of the Incubus boys were missing. Even their families didn't seem to care!

But it is a usual thing that Incubus disappear from the lands often. Sometimes they go to the mortal world in search of prey. And sometimes they travel to the neighborhood kingdom for partying and stuff.

So no one might notice their absence for at least a month. This is amazing! It looks like I don't have to confess the truth to my father..

I stood right outside the mighty Ash castle and viewed the greyish monument. It must have rained here yesterday night, which had turned the color of the monument into the darker shades of grey.

I hesitated to get inside the castle. My heart was filled with guilt, and even my pulse was irregular as the guiltiness kept on nagging my insides. I am responsible for this; still, I don't want to confess this time to my father.

The castle guards in the Ash castle were mostly Demonic warlocks—as only they were skilled enough to handle the weapons. We, Incubus, don't even know how to lift a sword properly.

Two of the warlock guards, who were patrolling around, came to me and bowed down to me. Even though they were polite, I wasn't able to restrain myself from feeling jealous of them. I wished that at least I was skilled enough like one of these guards!

Then suddenly, the air around me got cooler like hell. I am used to the bone-chilling temperature, but the current weather was icy cool. Why is the temperature changing suddenly?!

After a while, the cool breeze turned into black smoke, and slowly an elegant lady with piercing scarlet red eyes and red hair appeared before me. She is the great Demon Queen Lilith!

The four other warlock guards who were roaming beside me immediately came running to the spot and knelt before the Queen of Darkness.

"My Queen," one of the guards placed his spear on the ground and cried out. "I am so much honored to be finally graced by your presence. Please bless me—"

"Get the hell out of here," the Demon Queen shouted out in frustration while she had her piercing gaze on me.

But I wasn't even respecting the Demon Queen as the other guards did. She is the one who made Lilin break up with me—and I still can't forgive her for that.

"Where is my daughter?" the Demon Queen roared at me. "Just tell me where you are hiding her?"

*But I don't know where she is?" I cried out. "And Lilin is missing?!"

"Yes, she is," the Demon Queen sighed, and her expression got saddened after that. "She didn't give me a message for the past two days, and it is very unlikely of her to ignore me. She must have definitely gotten captured by someone—and are you sure that it is not you?"

"No…" I said that in a scream. "I am in love with Lilin! Why would I want to imprison her and torture her?!"

"What more reason do you need than that for trapping my daughter? People in love do the most bizarre things—"

Exactly at that moment, my father came to the spot and frowned at me. Then he eyed the Queen of Darkness. He stood before her and bowed to her, just like the guards did a while ago.

"Your grace, please just get in the castle now. We can sort this out with a conversation! Please don't be mad at my son for whatever he might have done—"

I was petrified! My father doesn't even know what the full story is. Still, he takes the side of the opponent instead of me.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My father took the honorable Queen of the Darkness to his private chamber where no one except the royal family is allowed to get in.
After we got there, Lilith got even frantic. She pointed her finger at me and yelled at my father. "King Rafel! Your son has been causing so much chaos lately. It has come to my knowledge he is responsible for the death of four of your men—"
The situation is getting worse! I didn't want my father to know my truth. But the Queen of darkness had exposed my entirety.
My father didn't believe the Queen at first. He gave me a quick glare and then looked back at the Queen. "I am sorry, my Queen! But I think that there has been a misunderstanding here. None of the Incubus were dead, and even if they did, I am a hundred percent sure that my son is not the felon—"
My guilt multiplied even more. Not only did I let my boys die, but I am also earning disappointment from my father, who has so much faith in me.
Lilith gave my father a smirk. "Just ask your son what he did. He will tell you the truth—"
How does she even know what I did? No one else except the Serpent girls knows about this!
My father turned to me and asked me skeptically. "What is going on here, Aaron?" Are the four of our kind really dead?"
"Yes, it is true," I said with much difficulty. "Four of our men have died, and I am partially responsible for that—"
The King of Incubus was frozen, and Lilith still didn't give me a break.
"Your son made a foolish mistake by triggering the wrath of the Anti-Angel! Now your whole land is going to burn because of him—"
