Forever Destined To The Silver Shadow

Chapter 274 - The Harsh Sea...

Edwin's POV:

It has been a day since Celestia had gone missing. A lot of them did not even notice her absence. They all assumed that she was just in her room. The Fae King had summoned her twice, but Ember managed to make a lame excuse on her behalf. And apparently, the King bought it!

I wondered how she even convinced the King. I had asked her a lot of times about it, but she refused to give me a solid answer. It is not easy for me to handle this fierce Mage girl; she is stubborn as hell.

All of the warrior Fae gang had gathered down the weapons room. Ember says that this is the only safest place to conduct a meeting without getting caught. Anyone who comes and peeks here would just assume that the warriors are inspecting the weapons. This gives us good coverage!

"My fellow warriors," I said to the golden armored men who were watching me eagerly to know why I summoned them here. "I hope that Ember had told you all that our beloved Dawn is missing—"

"The Dawn is missing?" Vivian gasped. "But I just saw her….," he paused and thought for a while. Then he finally confessed," No! I don't remember seeing her yesterday—"

"So the Dawn is missing?" another one of them asked. "But how?!"

This is getting annoying! I had told Ember to explain the situation to these warriors before she brought them here. Why doesn't she follow what I say?! I let out a sigh and took the liberty of explaining the situation to the gang. They all were horrified when I was done with my explanation.

"How are we going to save the Dawn?" the jovial guy Laris cried out.

"Calm down, Laris! I have a plan. But it involves us all working together! Who is with me?"

"We all are with you," the gang replied in unison.

The Sea goddess was not calm today. Her waves were rapidly crashing the shore back and forth. I looked up at the dark sky above me only to find out that there was no moon. So that's why the waves are rapid! It looks like we won't have a smooth sail on our way to Selene.

But we have no other choice than sailing now. It has already been a day, and God knows what that trickster had done to Celestia. What if he had touched her?! I tried hard not to think about that—but in vain.

The entire gang got on the ship while carrying their weapons in their hands. Surprisingly, no one was scared that they were going to be confronted by the Anti-Angel. Perhaps they all are confident that my plan would work. I hope that it does!

Vivian took the liberty of being the captain of the ship. He can lead us to our destination smoothly—as he had dealt with traveling in the waters for a long time.

Our ship sailed smoothly in the waters despite the rapid waves. But unfortunately, luck was not on our side. Thunder blasted out in the sky, and soon it started to rain heavily. The rain made it difficult for the captain to maintain the wheels.

I have heard stories where the ship sinks and gets drowned in the water. What if our gang suffers the same fate as that? No! Nothing can happen to us. If something happens to us, then who is going to save Celestia from that trickster? And also, the Fae King might lose his good health when he knows that all his warriors are gone.

I wish that the Sea goddess shows some mercy on us. I took a deep breath and moved to the railing of the ship. My heart twisted in fear when I looked down at the cold and dark waters. Our ship is literally bouncing here!

"Stop looking down! It will only scare you more," Ember moved near me and said.

"Then what are we supposed to do when this ship sinks into this deep water?"

"Well, what makes you think that our ship will sink? We might survive the journey too—"

I can't help but admire the courageous girl who was smiling before me. She is not a bit tense that we are on a ship while the weather is bad. How does she manage to stay brave always? This is something that I should learn from her.

Suddenly, something was coming towards our ship. "Captain…. halt the ship," I yelled out.

Vivian stopped the wheels immediately. Then the entire gang came to the spot to know what was going on. I pointed my finger at the distance and said, "I think that it is a raft. Can you all see that too?"

"I can see that," Ember replied swiftly. "But who would be wandering in the middle of the sea in a feeble raft? And for heaven's sake, the weather is bad too! I bet that the guy has some kind of death wish—"

It could be possible! And it is a wonder that his feeble raft had still not sunk in the waters. But when the raft got near to our ship, we all regretted teasing the man who was rowing the raft.

"It is our Prince," I shouted out. "Darius is on the raft—"

My mind wasn't able to come up with a logical explanation of how the Prince had gotten on this raft. Perhaps we can ask him once he gets on our ship!

I thought that Vivian was the greatest sailor ever—but I was entirely wrong. Darius managed to sail halfway through the great sea on the feeble wooden raft. It is a miracle that he was able to do that despite the bad weather.

Darius was literally shivering like hell. He is used to the cold weather; still, he looked very pale today. I removed my overcoat and gave it to the shivering prince. My coat was drenched in water, too; still, I had nothing else to offer to the trembling prince.

"Thank you guys for saving me," the Prince said to us.

"We barely did anything! You were the one who saved yourself," Ember said to him. I couldn't agree more with her!

"Now tell me, Darius! How the hell did you get on a raft?" I asked him.

Darius got up from the floor and glanced at the entire gang before he started to speak. "That trickster played a wicked game on me! He told me that he was releasing me—but he just gave me a raft and forced me to leave the island when it was dark and cloudy. He wanted me to drown and die here, but I survived—"

"All the glory goes to the Holy Aiden! Thank you, Lord, for saving our Prince," I said. The rest of the gang replied the same after me.

Darius looked at the waters and said, "Where are we going now?! Are we traveling to Selene?"

"Yes," I answered. "We have to rescue Celestia!"

"No," the Prince shouted. "We can't go there now! That trickster will cage us there—"

I was stunned. Why is he saying this? Celestia is in danger, and he doesn't seem to be a bit worried about it!

Darius turned to me and said," Listen, my warrior! I know that we have to rescue Dawn, but he is too strong now. If we go there, then we are doomed. What good can we yield by sacrificing our lives?"

"But I have a plan," I interrupted. "If we reach there in the morning, then-"

"No, stop," Darius shouted. "No plan will work against that trickster. He is just too strong to be defeated! Please understand that—"

I was confused. So is he suggesting that we should do nothing to save Celestia?! I also wasn't able to argue with Darius. He is the Prince, and I am loyal to the throne. I am obligated to do whatever he says.

"Okay, then how are we going to save Celestia?" I asked him.

"We will think about that once we go back to the Highlands," Darius answered and confused me even more. Then he looked at Vivian and said, "Turn the ship back to our lands—"

Something is not right here! Why is he keen on going back?! Or maybe the Prince is scared of Silver Shadow. But I am not scared of him! I can now conduct a majority vote and order everyone to focus on rescuing Celestia.

And again, my hands are tied as I can't go against the Prince. I tried to stay calm while Vivian turned the wheels and sailed the ship in the reverse direction. I stood alone next to the railing and sadly watched the dark sea.

Darius came to me and said, "I am sorry about earlier! But the right thing to do now is to go back. The weather and luck is definitely not going to be in our side if we keep on sailing—"

I understood what the Prince was trying to say. Still, I was a little skeptical! Why does it look to me like he doesn't care about Celestia?!
