Forever Destined To The Silver Shadow

Chapter 304 - She Can Do This

Edwin was pacing impatiently in the room in which the Siren girls had given him to stay. He didn't know what to do from now on. Should he have to go back to the Highland and be a double agent?! Or should he have to stay here and pledge his allegiance to Silver Shadow?!

"You should go now," a dark voice said behind him and made him jump. He turned and saw his ex-mortal enemy frowning at him. How did he even appear here out of nowhere?! 'Well, Sirens can teleport,' he sighed to himself.

"If you stay here any longer, then Oberon will get suspicious of you."

Edwin wasn't actually a fan of being here. He didn't like seeing Silver Shadow, even after knowing that he was on the good side. And whenever he saw her with Celestia, it hurt his heart. Yet, he was scared of facing Oberon, the Shadow Lord. So he was making up his mind to stay here.

"No, you can't stay here," Theo said after he read his thoughts. "You have to be with Oberon till the end of the war. Or else we wouldn't get any information about his latest strategies."

"But… but… we have Ember and many others on our side. They can help us…"

"No, they can't!" Theo shook his head. "You are the strongest! Only you can do this right."

It surprised Edwin that Silver Shadow actually appreciated him. He thought he was filled with pride. Again, he thought how wrong his assumptions were. Just like everyone else, he had believed the lies of Oberon. Then he started to feel special respect for this man. He endured so much for years and he is still on a quest to save them all from evil.

"You are a misunderstood hero," Edwin blurted.

Theo's lips curled up in a smile. "Well, thank you for the compliment. Now create a portal and leave this place before Oberon gets even more suspicious—"

Edwin immediately obeyed his orders and lifted up his hand. He conjured blue flames out of his palms down on the floor below him and soon a shiny golden portal appeared. He bowed down to the future King Silver Shadow before he stepped in the portal and vanished from the spot.

Only after getting out of the portal, Edwin realize that he had created a portal directly to the Highland castle. This was against the rules! No one is supposed to enter the castle like this. Only the King and the royal family had this privilege.

Edwin felt relieved that no one else was around him to see him break the rules. He moved to the upper regions of the castle and went to the King's chamber. Even though it was nighttime, the King was still awake in the room.

Edwin stiffened when the sharp blue eyes of the King pierced him. He was wearing a white cloak that represented purity, but his aura said that he is the opposite of purity. As the King got up from the chair and moved towards Edwin, he trembled even more.

"How did it go?" Oberon asked him. "What did he say?"

"Your highness," Edwin bowed before he spoke. "Silver Shadow is not ready to surrender. He calls on you for war—"

Oberon let out a laugh like an evil animal that scared the trembling Edwin even more. "He made a stupid decision that is going to lead to his doom. And what about my son and daughter?!"

"Prince Darius is still in the dungeon. Silver Shadow refused to release him," Edwin replied.

"Ahhh! I know what he is doing here. He thinks that he can blackmail me by torturing my son. That is not going to happen," Oberon shook his head.

Edwin had expected this attitude from him. After seeing the evil version of him, he completely lost faith that he can be of any good. But is he so heartless that he doesn't care if his son lives or dies?!

"Fine! What about Celestia?"

Edwin looked away from him and didn't give him an answer. He knew that his answer would upset the King. Oberon got the answer to his question by the way Edwin hesitated.

"I see! So she has become his slave again," the King groaned. "It doesn't matter! Very soon Silver Shadow will be dead and you are the one going to tame her—"

"Of course, your highness," Edwin swallowed.

Theo's POV:

I waited and waited for Celestia to arrive at my room. It is going to be way past midnight now. Still, she hasn't come here yet! I wondered what was holding her back. Is she scared to face me?!

Well, if that is the case she is not alone. I am scared too! I am scared of the Anti-Angel in me. I might show mercy to her, but it wouldn't! It is not going to stop until Celestia gets what she deserves. I want her to get back her powers too, but I also don't want her to get hurt. There must be some way in which I could control my Anti-Angel once it comes out!

Just when I had that thought, Celestia came to my room and locked the door. All my tension vanished when I saw her and my mind got filled with excitement. I sat down on the settee and admired the Angel that was walking towards me.

My suspicion was right. She was terrified to even more than me. Her mind was telling her to run away from me but her heart told her to come near me. Celestia had a very difficult time deciding what to do. After a while, she turned away from me and went to the corner of the room.

Is she that scared of me itself?! Then how is she going to endure the wrath of the Anti-Angel?! That demon can't be controlled even by me! Whatever, I don't want to force myself on her or hurt her. If she doesn't want to do this, I will have to keep my distance.

But Celestia surprised me by bringing a jar of wine and a goblet to me. So that's why she went to the corner of the room—that is where I keep my wine. She poured the wine into the goblet and gave it to me with a smile on her face.. Now there was confidence in her face and determination in her eyes. Maybe she can do this!
