Forever Destined To The Silver Shadow
Chapter 98 - My Dear Daughter...
Celestia's POV:
The whole courtroom stood up when they laid their eyes on me. "We all bow down to the Queen," they all chanted in unison.
I was embarrassed for a while because I was not at all dressed up like a Queen. I was in a short knee-length gown that was very tight and showed off every curve in my body. I wasn't wearing high heels as the Queens do!
I wanted to run away from the courtroom immediately. But Theo insisted that I get into the room. So I had no other choice! And I think that running away from here will only increase my humiliation.
I slowly walked up to the stage and shuddered when I noticed that there was another empty emerald throne right next to Theo's chair.
'The Green Orcs made another Emerald throne for their Queen, Celestia,' Theo whispered in my head.
That is so kind of them! I am going to thank the green orcs personally after this. I sat down on the emerald throne and viewed everyone in the room. I still didn't feel like a Queen!
The subjects were seated on either side of the room. Both of the Mage Lords were seated on the front row. A lot of them in the room were just Mages. Wizards were present only less in number. I wondered what might be the reason.
Theo then handed me a little scroll and said, "A firebird brought this scroll to the Emerald palace this morning."
The scroll seemed like the one my father used to send messages to others. But that can't be possible! Why would my father send us a message?
He banished me from the realm, and he doesn't want to do anything with me. And also, he would never write a message to Theo! I mean, who would send a message to their mortal enemy?
I hesitantly opened the scroll and viewed the message. The message seemed to be a bit longer. I sat up straight when I read the first line of the scroll.
'My dear daughter,
I am sorry for all the misunderstanding that has happened so far.'
I glanced at Theo immediately. Is this really a message from my father, or is someone conning us in the name of my father?
"Celestia, just read the scroll completely," Theo instructed me.
My hands began to shake as I continued to read the scroll.
'I understand that you are in love with Theo, and as your father, I must have respected your decision. But instead, I banished you and sent you away from my Kingdom. After you left, I lost everything! There has not been a day that went by without me regretting my decision of banishing you.'
My eyes got watery as I continued to read the scroll. So my father doesn't wholly dislike me!
'But these are just my feelings as your father. As the King of the Celestial Realm, I am furious at you for breaking your vow. None of these disasters would have happened if you had not sided with that trickster Silver Shadow.'
Now, this sounded like something my father would have written. Father Oberon is not a forgiving type. He doesn't let go of the simple mistakes that his subjects make.
He has cursed a lot of them in the past. How will he forgive me for this? I should not have hoped that he would forgive me!
I took a deep breath and continued to read the letter. 'A few days ago, I thought of forgiving you, but I stopped myself when I realized the disasters that have occurred in my Kingdom due to you. You stole my crown and gave it to the trickster. Now my own subjects are turning against me.'
Darius already told me about this. And I felt guilty for it, and I even aided him in retrieving the crown. But I guess that my father can't possibly know those things as Darius and the rest of my warrior friends are in the dungeon now!
'You helped the trickster and made him the King of the Lowlands! Do you know the danger that you have caused to my people?'
But Theo is not a trickster! He is a nobler person than my father. I guess that my father would never agree with me on that. I sighed to myself and continued reading.
'You have left me with no other choice except to beg with the Silver Shadow. He has imprisoned my son and my warriors in a dungeon. I can't run a kingdom without my warriors. So I have no other option here except to plead to Theo!'
But the Fathomless warriors trespassed into the emerald castle! The Mages are the ones who held them captive. My father can't blame Theo for everything.
'I am going to arrive at the Emerald Palace tomorrow in order to negotiate with the Silver Shadow. And Celestia, I am writing this letter just for you because when I come there, I don't want to see you. I dare you not to appear in front of me when I am negotiating with the trickster. If you come in front of me, even as a mistake, then I will curse you.'
Tears rolled down my cheek and fell on the scroll and became pearls as I continued to read.
'You are not my daughter anymore! You lost that right a long time ago. Even though my heart still loves you, my mind will never forgive you. I am a King, and the welfare of my people is more important to me than you.'
And that was the end of the scroll. I gave the scroll to Theo and ran out of the courtroom immediately. All the people were watching me oddly, but I didn't care.
"Celestia, where are you going?" he called behind me. But I ignored him completely.
I can't do this anymore. I can't live with the guilt of going behind my father's wishes. I did make a mistake by breaking my vows! My reasons may be justifiable. Still, a mistake is a mistake!
I began to cry out loud when I reached the hallway. But Theo had followed me there too.
"Celestia, why are you taking this to your head? I thought that you are way past this," he said.
