Forsaken By Love

Time flowed like water, and soon a month had passed. During this month, He Lixue had done absolutely nothing apart from relaxing and shopping. Lin Xiulan had been sent overseas by her family, and Lu Nanfeng had returned to work.

Di Zhiqing had met He Lixue a few times, and they had managed to bury the hatchet, and although they were not overly fond of one another, they no longer held any animosity towards the other.

It was soon time for the university year to start again, and He Lixue, who was much older than the others who would begin, was beginning to feel nervous.

She knew that she had not taken the entrance exam, and had only gotten a spot because Lu Nanfeng had helped her. He had donated new computers to the IT science department, and thus the department had made an exception and accepted He Lixue. 

It was not often that someone walked in through the backdoor, and thus Lu Nanfeng was aware that He Lixue would be looked down upon by her classmates, but whenever he spoke with her about it, she dismissed it, and said that she did not mind. 

As long as she had Lu Nanfeng by her side, then she was happy. She did not need the school mates to like her. In fact, even if they did not mind her entering through the back door, they would never really connect to her, as she was a few years older than them.

Although a few years did not matter much, He Lixue was very different from them, both in her mindset and in maturity, and thus she was not able to easily connect with these youngsters. 

The only reason she wanted to get her degree was because she had started a normal life again. She wanted to experience the things that ordinary people experienced, and she wanted to rely on her own ability to either create an IT company or help Lu Nanfeng with the Fenghuang Group.

No matter where one went in the modern world, education was important, and so was one's background. 

He Lixue had learned this when she was at the Fenghuang IT Security Department. Although they did not look down on her due to her lack of qualifications, they often urged her to get them so that no one could fault her in the future. 

Lu Nanfeng also wanted her to finish her studies, not because it mattered much to him, but because he wanted no one to use it as a way to insult her in the future. Not to mention, he knew that she wanted to experience life in school. 

Slowly the days went by, and soon it was time for the school to begin enrollment procedures. 

Most students would live on campus in the dormitory, but Lu Nanfeng had made it clear that even if she went to school, she would have to stay at home. 

He would drive her to school every morning when going to work, and then the driver would pick her up in the afternoon, after she finished her classes.

He Lixue could not help but chuckle and smile when she saw the overly protective expression on Lu Nanfeng's face.

He dared not let her take a taxi, as a shadow had been formed in his heart. Although the Organization was done for, who knew if anyone else wanted to kidnap his little woman; she was, after all, too extraordinary.

He Lixue had wanted to open her mouth and tell him that she was not going to get kidnapped again, but when she saw the dark face of his, she swallowed back the words.

Instead, she excitedly dragged Lu Nanfeng to the school grounds, where they began the enrollment procedures. 

Many looked at them with curiosity. Most people had seen Lu Nanfeng before in the newspapers or magazines, so seeing the living person was genuinely shocking.

They were even more surprised when they saw that he held the hand of a young and adorable woman. Although she was twenty-two, she seemed much younger, and many could not help but take a glance a few extra times.

He Lixue completely ignored the many gazes that had locked unto the two of them, as she went to the queue. Here, she signed her name, and was officially enrolled in the school. 

After they finished all the procedures that had to do with enrollment, He Lixue and Lu Nanfeng began touring the grounds. Lu Nanfeng had studied overseas, so he was not familiar with the layout of the Imperial University. Luckily, during the enrollment procedures, they also received a map, so it did not take them long to get familiar with the surroundings.

Many women looked at He Lixue with jealousy, and while they were walking, they suddenly heard a woman, who was standing by the side, speak up. 

Her voice was loud enough for everyone to hear it, and she clearly wanted He Lixue to know what she was saying.

"I heard that Master Lu Nanfeng donated a whole room of new computers to the IT department. At first, I did not understand why, but now it is clear, he was helping his little underground lover enter the university."

Many were stunned when hearing her words, and they glanced at He Lixue and Lu Nanfeng, partly waiting for them to reject her words, but it turned out that they were completely ignoring her.

It was clear that they had heard her words, but they paid her no mind, clearly what she had said was correct.

The IT Department was amongst the most famous departments in the entire Imperial University, so many had wanted to enter. However, due to He Lixue, one less position had been available this year. 

Many looked down on her when they heard the words, and it only took half a day before everyone in the entire university knew how she had entered the course.

Lu Nanfeng was dismayed when he saw their arrogance and disdain when looking at He Lixue, but she held him back from causing trouble and flashed a beautiful smile at him.

"I will show them who belongs in the department, and who doesn't, when the time is right," she said decisively, and Lu Nanfeng nodded his head. He had complete faith in her ability.
