Forsaken By Love

He Weiling was urging He Huiling to get close to Lu Nanfeng. Suddenly their business was going downhill, and everyone in the industry knew that the He Corporation had caused the Fenghuang Group to become displeased.

Not many dared to continue working with the He Corporation as they feared that the unhappy Fenghuang Group would extend their claws to their own companies. Thus, the He Corporation's liquid funds were dwindling at a rapid pace.

They had to pay for all their workers, and all their ongoing projects, but no one was investing in the said projects any longer, the end result being that they had to draw on their savings, but it would not be able to work in the long run.

As such, their only solution was to solve Lu Nanfeng's anger. And the best way was to throw He Huiling into his bed, and make her replace He Lixue.

They never considered whether or not Lu Nanfeng would be interested in He Huiling, nor did they consider the emotional ties between He Lixue and Lu Nanfeng.

He Weiling was the kind of person that had many lovers outside. He did not believe that any man would say no to a woman that threw herself at him, as long as she had a certain appearance, and while He Huiling had a lot of her facial features cosmetically altered, she was indeed a beauty.

Even if Lu Nanfeng was not going to break up with He Lixue, as long as he had a relationship with He Huiling, he would stop the pressure he put on the He Corporation in return for her servicing him.

Then, after waiting for some time, by proving that she was much more capable of making Lu Nanfeng feel good, and by relying on some whispers at night, they would be able to kick He Lixue out and take over everything that was now hers.

At least this was what He Huiling and He Weiling had planned.

They had stolen all of her wealth and properties, and now they also wanted to steal her man, again. They were truly addicted to taking everything that belonged to He Lixue.

"Father," He Huiling called He Weiling around five in the afternoon. Her voice was quite excited, and she was smiling widely. 

"I just got the news that Lu Nanfeng will be present at a dinner gathering tonight. I also have an invitation to this gathering, and I have even bought something to spice up the night. Lu Nanfeng has booked a room at the hotel for when he finishes the gathering, so he is not returning home to that hoof's side. This is the perfect chance to act!"

He Huiling had been doing her utmost to get a hold of Lu Nanfeng. She was unwilling to flatter He Lixue, so she looked for other places to meet Lu Nanfeng.

Tonight was the ideal meeting, especially if he had to drink some wine. The more he drank, the more likely he was to succ.u.mb to his d.e.s.i.r.es, and forget about He Lixue. 

"Good girl," He Weiling smiled with happiness. This was the turning point for their He Corporation; this was the time where he would become like a sparrow turning into a phoenix by relying on Lu Nanfeng and the Fenghuang Group.

The evening arrived, and the hotel's foyer was bustling with life as one important person after another appeared, dressed in festive clothes.

Lu Nanfeng was amongst the last ones to show up. He was wearing a western black suit, and every woman on the scene could not help but take a few extra glances at him. He was simply too attractive, but no one had any additional thoughts about him. Everyone knew that he was already occupied by the little He Lixue, and that the two of them were in a loving relationship.

While He Huiling was willing to go between them, most people weren't. They had been raised well by their parents, and knew that mistresses were frowned upon. Destroying a loving couple was simply evil and disgusting, so while they admired Lu Nanfeng, they stayed with admiration.

Not long after Lu Nanfeng had arrived, He Huiling also showed up. She was a little famous in the entertainment industry, but this was a place for businessmen and women of the upper class, so the reason she could attend was not due to her actress status, but because she was the only daughter of the He Corporation.

She surveyed the room, and her eyes instantly landed on Lu Nanfeng. He was like an illuminator at the dinner gathering, everyone had their eyes drawn to him, and he shone upon all the places he went. 

Everyone wanted to talk with him about cooperation. The reason he had shown up that day was to start negotiations with other groups, and thus he was intentionally toning down his icy air and made himself look approachable. 

Lu Nanfeng was professional and listened to all the talk. He found a few interesting projects where he gave them his business card, telling them to contact him again after the dinner party so that they could discuss further.

As Lu Nanfeng walked around in the hall, He Huiling's eyes never left him once, and everyone noticed her gaze, which was full of greed and d.e.s.i.r.e. 

The other noble socialites looked at her with a frown and then shook their heads. They all knew the identity of He Huiling and He Lixue. To think that her cousin had stolen everything that belonged to her, and now not even her man was let off.

But it made sense. Lu Nanfeng was so perfect. Since they had already stolen her wealth, they could hardly stoop lower, so aiming for her man was actually not so surprising.

The women said nothing but looked at the scene with interest. Although they had not expected it, they now had a feeling that something dramatic was going to happen at tonight's party.
