This seawater desalination plant has planned a total of three desalination canals, two of which are used for daily production and one is for backup.

If the three desalination canals are operated at full capacity, they can produce 84 billion cubic meters of fresh water a year.

Of course, full capacity is impossible. It’s not that the desalination plants can’t produce it, but that the transportation pipelines can’t transport so much fresh water.

The water transmission pipeline currently being built has an annual water transmission capacity of 15 billion cubic meters per line.

If the desalination plant were to operate at full capacity, six water pipelines with an annual capacity of 15 billion cubic meters of water would be needed.

Therefore, the seawater desalination plant is currently putting a desalination channel into trial production, and the operating efficiency is only about 40%.
