Chapter 9 Advancement

Odin was about to leave after he crashed out of Senior Annie’s body but he saw a message appear in front of him.

【Escaped from Vengeful Spirit, Constitution -0.1, Mental +0.2】

A thought appeared in Odin’s heart when he saw this. He abandoned the thought of escaping, instead, he turned around and stormed at Senior Annie.

Senior Annie did not imagine Odin would storm at her, she lunged forward almost colliding with Odin.

Odin had a physical body while Senior Annie is a spirit being. Even if they collided, nothing would happen. Odin passed through Senior Annie’s body and felt his entire body chilled as though diving into an icy cave in the middle of winter.

However, another message appeared and this made Odin reveal a hint of joy.

Odin could not care much and immediately used his EXP on the Crow God’s three professions.

“Advance to Spirit Warlock.”

Spirit Warlock’s abilities were not applied to the physical body but to the soul. He could move freely using Astral Projection like how Senior Annie did. She could move freely between the spirit world and the real world and disguise herself as a vengeful spirit to ambush the enemy.

At the same time, he could communicate with some spirit beings. For example, if the voice Odin heard was from a spirit being, he was able to communicate with it.

When Odin caught Senior Annie, he was unsure where to seal her up. It was the bed that told Odin there was a nice-looking ink bottle that it could not see through. Only then did Odin seal her inside.

This sealing ability naturally came from the Spirit Capture. Moreover, it was more effective for a Spirit Warlock with a physical body to capture the spirit. Perhaps this was due to the rules of this profession.

However, Spirit Warlock had some disadvantages. All of his three skills had some issues each.

After using Astral Projection, the body would slowly lose its vitality. If not preserved properly, it could only last for at most seven days. Furthermore, the spirit could not leave too far from the body, or else the spirit’s power would gradually weaken. Just like Senior Annie was unable to directly kill Odin, it was obvious to see the problem within it.

Spirit Capture also had a similar problem. This skill was not an offensive skill, it could only capture spirits and seal them. In addition, Soul Communication allowed others to detect one’s position.

The Level 1 Spirit Warlock did not have any offensive power at all.

This was a piece of bad news for Odin. Judging from the sudden appearance of Senior Annie, he really was targeted by the Black Death Society.

Odin needed to look for offensive skills to protect himself.
