441 A day will come...

L贸ng Wei told the servant to bring water for them. He turned to look at Li Hua and asked her to take the seat. Li Hua shook her head and looked around the office. She saw the table which had many scrolls, documents, and registers on them. 鈥淲ill His Highness finish all of them today?鈥?Li Hua concernedly asked.

鈥淣o. I will have to merely put approval stamps on them. Zhai Liang, my assistant, has already gone through all these,鈥?L贸ng Wei asserted.

鈥淥h. That is good then,鈥?Li Hua said.

The servant brought two glasses of water on a tray. L贸ng Wei picked up the one and handed it to Li Hua. 鈥淗ere, drink it first,鈥?L贸ng Wei told her. Li Hua almost drank that when he stopped her and tasted the water to make sure there was no poison. Once he was sure, he let her drink that water.

L贸ng Wei wiped her lips using his thumb and asked Li Hua to sit comfortably on the chair. Once he took his seat, L贸ng Wei sat at the main chair around the desk.

鈥淵our Highness, will you show me the Governor鈥檚 seal? I want to see it.鈥?Li Hua expressed her wish. L贸ng Wei nodded his head and opened the drawer on the desk using the key. He brought out the seal and showed it to Li Hua.

鈥淚s there any special reason to see it?鈥?L贸ng Wei asked.

鈥淵es.鈥?Li Hua nodded her head. 鈥淭his seal has a special meaning. Not everyone can possess it. The Prince has it and this in itself is a proud feeling. With this seal, the entire Qinping鈥檚 work happens,鈥?Li Hua asserted with a wide smile on her lips. She lowered her eyelids to look at the seal. 鈥淚f His Highness鈥檚 mother were here, then she would have been proud of him,鈥?she stated.

L贸ng Wei did not agree with her. 鈥淪he would have still hated me,鈥?he stated.

Li Hua peered at him. 鈥淗is Highness does not understand a mother鈥檚 heart. She pretended to hate you. She loved you till her last breath. The reason she always showed her hatred all the time toward her only son had a bigger reason behind it,鈥?Li Hua stated with a confident tone.

L贸ng Wei did not know why Li Hua said such words to him. 鈥淚 would love to know that bigger reason then,鈥?he asserted and shifted his gaze toward the door as he heard the footsteps.

Li Hua put the seal back into the box and found L贸ng Wei鈥檚 facial expressions changed. She turned to look and found a man in his late forties bowed before L贸ng Wei.

The man raised his head and looked into L贸ng Wei鈥檚 eyes.

鈥淲hy are you here, Yu Wenyan?鈥?L贸ng Wei asked him.

鈥淢other wants to see her grandson before dying. It is her dying wish,鈥?Yu Wenyan stated.

Li Hua鈥檚 eyes grew slightly bigger as she realized that the man was L贸ng Wei鈥檚 uncle.

鈥淲hy? Did she not curse me to die? Now, she is on her deathbed, she wants to see me,鈥?L贸ng Wei said. His facial expressions darkened as he recalled the day when his maternal grandmother had come to the palace ground to ask for justice for her daughter.

鈥淵our Highness, your maternal grandmother will pass away soon. Please fulfill my mother鈥檚 dying wish,鈥?Yu Wenyan requested L贸ng Wei.

鈥淚 do not want to,鈥?L贸ng Wei replied and called in Zhai Liang. He quickly rushed in when L贸ng Wei scolded him.

Yu Wenyan was expecting this only from L贸ng Wei. He had not changed a bit. He had heard from the people that L贸ng Wei had become slightly warm towards the other people. It seemed all those were a mere illusion. He turned to leave when Li Hua stopped him.

L贸ng Wei gazed at Li Hua in bewilderment. She rose to her feet and went to Yu Wenyan.

鈥淲e will come to see the grandmother, Uncle Yu,鈥?Li Hua assured him. 鈥淎hh, I am Li Hua, the wife of Prince L贸ng Wei. I apologize to uncle Yu on Prince L贸ng Wei鈥檚 behalf.鈥?br>
鈥淟i Hua!鈥?L贸ng Wei slammed his hand on the table. She turned to look at him and found him infuriated. 鈥淒o not intervene in this matter,鈥?he said while controlling his anger. Zhai Liang was nervous thinking that L贸ng Wei might pick up his sword.

鈥淭ake him away!鈥?L贸ng Wei instructed Zhai Liang again, who told Yu Wenyan to follow him. They both left while Li Hua scowled at L贸ng Wei. She lifted her high-waist skirt and dashed out of the room. L贸ng Wei pressed his fingers on the temple of his forehead.

鈥淯ncle Yu!鈥?Li Hua loudly said this time. He stopped and turned to look. Zhai Liang also gazed in her direction when she stopped in front of them.

鈥淚 will bring Prince L贸ng Wei to see his maternal grandmother. Tell her to wait for us,鈥?Li Hua said with assurance.

鈥淗er Highness is not aware of the Prince. If he has refused it, then he will not come. I know my nephew well. I did not want to come to him after what he did to my sister, but my mother expressed her desire to see Prince L贸ng Wei before dying. I will advise Her Highness not to go against the Prince. Yu Wenyan tilted his head to gaze at Li Hua.

鈥淚 am not, Uncle Yu. Prince L贸ng Wei will come to see his maternal grandmother. A day will come when you will apologize to your nephew. I know my husband more than anyone,鈥?Li Hua stated.

Yu Wenyan did not say anything in response. He looked ahead and walked away from the corridor. Li Hua was hurt to hear the words of Yu Wenyan.

L贸ng Wei, who had leaned against the door with his arms crossed, chuckled, and then, he smiled. Li Hua stood for him and he felt blessed once again. He went back to the desk and waited for Li Hua to come inside.
