Yaoguang Hall was to the west of Zixia Hall. Though it wasn’t very far away, it still took about fifteen minutes to walk there.

When the palace maids and eunuchs they encountered along the way saw Tao Ti walking about, they all retreated to the roadside in astonishment and bowed in salute.

There was a poem that went like this: The spring breeze came before the court one night; the fragrance of pagoda tree blossoms spread for ten miles.

Tao Ti looked at the delicate and beautiful pagoda tree blossoms, inhaled deeply, and felt relaxed and happy. “These pagoda tree blossoms have bloomed really well.”

Linglong was just about to echo her agreement when she heard Crown Princess continue, “Such fresh and tender pagoda tree blossoms, whether used to make pagoda tree blossoms pastry, pagoda tree blossom baos, pagoda tree blossom egg crepe, or to steam fish, it must be delicious!”

Zixia Hall was indeed worthy of being the number one palace of the Eastern Palace. The area it covered, the scale of the palace, as well as the extent of its magnificence, were all not aspects in which Yaoguang Hall could compare.

But the style of the palace was very cold; the colour scheme was sombre and restrained, and there were not many flowers and plants in the surroundings. Instead, emerald green bamboo forests could be seen everywhere. If it were the hot summer, this large bamboo forest would seem cooling and serene, but in the other three seasons, it appeared rather lonesome.

But for an immortal-like being like Pei Yan, this quiet and elegant style did match him well.

When the palace attendants of Zixiao Hall saw Tao Ti arrive, they bowed in greeting with grave expressions as if confronted by a formidable enemy, then, with grave expressions, ran in to report to the crown prince, before finally, with grave expressions, brought her into the study.

This cautious and defensive attitude made Tao Ti smile bitterly——
