God of Science

4 A Dancing Headache

"So that's how it is, no wonder those fruits remain untouched"

After looking at this little hunt that happened in front of his eyes June became a little nervous.

It was already evening and slowly the night was approaching and he was already feeling hungry.

In reality the hunger was not a problem but somehow the increase in hunger was related to the increase in headache. He could spend the night in hunger but spending the night with a headache that is slowly increasing with time was just not possible.

So, he decided to move closer and then plan his next move accordingly.

Slowly and steadily June moved towards the tree.

Twenty five meters .... twenty meters ... fifteen meters .... ten meters, as soon as he reached the distance of ten meters a very strange thing happened.

The silver eyed green snake that was hidden behind the green leaves near the red fruit slowly poked his head out and looked straight in the direction of June. As soon as their eyes met June stopped on his tracks.

Both of them stood still looking at each other.

To June it felt like a trance, but suddenly at that moment his headache increased by almost double the intensity. The only difference was that the pain was focused entirely in between his eyes, like the whole pain that was spread all around inside his head was trying to get focused there, right in between his eyes.

June had to close his eyes for a few seconds due to sudden pain but when he opened them, he was surprised to see that there were actually dozens of similar silver eyed green snakes poking their head out of the tree branches from behind the green leaves at the same time.

All of the snakes had similar characteristics of green colored scales and silver eyes. The only difference was their size, especially their length. Their length varied from half a meter to almost two and a half meters and their thickness was around five to seven inches.

These dozens of silver eyed snakes were currently looking straight towards the June, right in his eyes.

June was standing still ten meters away from the tree. He did not move, neither away from them nor towards them.

Slowly the dozens of silver eyed snakes both large and small started moving towards June. They climbed down from the tree leaving those red fruits hanging and slowly moved towards him.

This surprised June because from what he knew, this was not the predatory behavior that the silver eyed snakes were showing, instead it was like there was something about him that was attracting those snakes.

So, like a good young scientist June quietly stood there on the same spot waiting to see the possibility of different thing that could take place in a few seconds, but his calmness about this situation surprised even himself.

The reason being he was not prepared for any of this but still the situation was unfolding on its own right in front of his eyes.

Ten meters …. Eight meters …. Five meters …. Three meters, and then they stopped. June was still standing at the same place, but in front of him there were dozens of silver eyed snakes just three meters away from him.

Then the snakes closest to the June slowly lifted their front bodies about a foot and a half above the ground and started to sway in a very peculiar and rhythmic manner.

Looking at their green colored body they looked just like the harmless beautiful fresh light green leaves dancing in the spring breeze.

Slowly the other snakes behind them started to move in the similar swaying motion one by one.

It looked like a dance. No, it was exactly a dance, they were actually dancing.

Although it looked very interesting, their eyes had never left the contact from the June's eyes.

While all this was happening in front of him, just three meters away from where he stood, June was actually standing still with a dumb expression on his face. The only thing he was feeling right now was confusion.

Yes confusion, no fear, no joy, just simply confusion. Let's not forget a little bit of headache too.
