God of Science

59 A Dangerous Way to Ashes of The Hear

After the three weeks, when the Gate Keepers have had enough and while they were ready to leave the fourth village and move to the fifth village, one of the Gate Keepers turned around and mumbled to the dumbstruck group of the elders in the language commonly spoken in the the Oma Hills.

"They outlived their purpose"

And then they left.

After the Gate Keepers had left the fourth village, they started to move in the direction of the fifth village.

Once they had reached far enough to be completely out of everyone's sight, each and every woman who was standing right in front of that group of elders, who came from the different villages, slowly lifted their fingers in the direction of the backyard of that big house in which those Gate Keepers had stayed all this time.

When the group quickly went behind the big house, within its backyard the only thing that they saw was a big hole about the size of five meters square with two meters depth which was completely filled with some kind of blackish grey powder.

And when they got close to it and touched that black powder, the elders noticed that this was not just some normal powder but instead this black powder was the remaining ashes of all the men that were alive in this village just about three weeks ago.

And in order to see these ashes, one had to enter the big house through its gates first, in which the gate keepers had been staying for the past three weeks otherwise there was no other way to enter the backyard without breaking the four meters tall fence.

And the thing was that

All of the seven Gate Keepers were men."

After speaking this much the head elder almost had a little sweat visible between his white hairs. June still kept looking in the direction of the burning fire with his eyes almost closed and then in a slow voice, a few words came out of the June's mouth

"Why would you trust a stranger like me with such an important secret of your tribe?"

Upon hearing this question from June, the head elder sighed for a few seconds and then replied

"Only the current five head elders of the five villages on the Oma Hills know about this happening and for various reasons the knowledge of this dark event was not spread outside these five old people, especially to the young children of these five villages because they do not possess the enough understanding and the patience to realize the value of their own precious lives but as an elder who had seen them grow since they were crawling on their all fours, I could never make that mistake for them.

And even if you want to tell the story about this past event to anyone else, I am not sure that they would believe the words of a stranger.

After completing the last sentence, the head elder had stopped speaking, and there was absolute silence in the surroundings and other than the noise of some crackling and popping that would occur occasionally within the burning firewood, no other sounds could be heard from the surroundings.

At that moment, June suddenly raised his head and looked directly into the eyes of the head elder, and for a moment the head elder was startled when he saw the look in the June's eyes.

He could swear that he had seen his eyes shining in the blue color within the dark for a second which looked very similar to a wolf under the twilight.

But at the same time the head elder still could not guess whether it for the good or the bad, and in that instant a sound of heavy hearted gulping could be heard from the throat of the head elder.

June slowly stood up from his position and slowly bowed his head a little in the direction of the head elder. After a few breaths a few words of gratitude came out from the June's mouth.

"Thank you for putting your trust in me by telling me such an important happening that is directly related to the past of your people and warning me beforehand about the dangers of these Oma hills."

At this moment the head elder of the Soma village could finally relax his tensed nerves and take a long breath to calm down his old and tired heart.
