Gourmet master of the Pokemon world
#19 - Rainy night rescue
As time passed, the sky grew increasingly gloomy. Not long after Anjay and the others arrived home, a downpour began.
Standing at the doorway, Anjay gazed at the rain-blurred scene and remarked, "I didn't expect such heavy rain this late into autumn."
Just then, Diancie walked over and said, "The Nibel Plateau has a unique terrain, so its weather is different from other places. Moreover, according to other Pokémon, a special Pokémon lives here, which keeps the Nibel Plateau in perpetual spring most of the time."
As she spoke, Diancie draped a coat over Anjay's shoulders. With the rain, the temperature had dropped, and she was worried Anjay might get sick again.
Although Anjay's body was gradually becoming stronger with the increase in his physique points, he only had a few points right now, so precautions were still necessary.
Anjay was indeed feeling a bit cold. He pulled the coat tighter around himself and asked, "A special Pokémon? What kind of special Pokémon?"
Diancie shook her head. "I don't know. I've only heard everyone say that it's because of that Pokémon's protection that everyone on the Nibel Plateau can live without worries."
"I see..." Anjay mused. "I hope I'll have the chance to meet it." After all, he was now a part of the Nibel Plateau.
"There should be an opportunity," Diancie said with a smile.
"I hope it won't dislike me."
"It definitely won't."
In the evening, Anjay and Snorlax steamed buns, made a cold藕片 salad, and cooked a pot of soup. Then, they sat around the table with Diancie, Comfey, and Vivillon for dinner.
The Dugtrio brothers were underground, each with three bowls in front of them: one filled with steamed buns, one with cold藕片 salad, and one with soup.
Warm lamplight shone down, the aroma of food filled the air, and everyone chatted as they ate, feeling warm both in body and mind.
"Wani~ Wani~"
However, just as everyone was halfway through their meal, a series of hurried cries came from outside the door. Anjay quickly went to the door to investigate, and Snorlax, seeing this, jumped off his chair and hurriedly followed his master.
When Anjay reached the door, he saw a large puddle of water, and a Totodile was standing in the puddle, carrying a Swablu on its back.
"What happened?"
Seeing the Swablu drenched in water, Anjay was alarmed and immediately stepped forward to take the Swablu off Totodile's back.
But Totodile seemed afraid of Anjay. When it saw Anjay approaching, it jumped away as if it had springs on its feet.
Seeing this, Snorlax immediately stepped forward, replacing Anjay in taking the Swablu down. This time, Totodile didn't seem to mind Snorlax's approach and obediently handed the Swablu over to Snorlax.
Anjay quickly took the Swablu from Snorlax and hurried inside.
"Diancie, Diancie!" Anjay called anxiously. "Quick, bring a dry towel."
"Okay~ I'm on it," Diancie replied and quickly ran into the bathroom, returning shortly with a bath towel.
"What happened?" Diancie asked as she handed the towel to Anjay.
"I don't know either," Anjay shook his head, quickly using the towel to dry the Swablu's body.
As he wiped, the Swablu slowly woke up. It looked around blankly at first, but when it recognized Anjay and Diancie, it immediately began to cry out excitedly.
"Chiru~ Chiru~~"
After Diancie translated, Anjay learned that the Swablu wanted Anjay to help its parents.
The rain was too heavy, and the Swablu family's nest had been washed away. Once these Pokémon's feathers get wet, it becomes extremely difficult for them to fly.
If Totodile hadn't passed by and rescued the Swablu from the ground, who knows what would have happened to it!
"Okay, okay, I'll go now, don't worry," Anjay replied readily after hearing the Swablu's plea.
But Diancie said with a worried expression, "It's raining so hard, are you sure you can go? What if you get sick again?"
"I can't worry about that now," Anjay shook his head. "I can't let you go, and I wouldn't feel safe letting Snorlax go alone."
"But..." Diancie still felt uneasy.
"Don't worry," Anjay said to her with a smile. "My body is much stronger now; I'm not as fragile as you think."
Seeing that she couldn't dissuade Anjay, Diancie had no choice but to agree. She took the Swablu from Anjay's arms. "Then come back quickly."
"I know."
Saying that, Anjay took Snorlax to change into raincoats and rain boots, and then found a flashlight from home. He came to the door and asked Totodile, who was peeking into the house, "Totodile, could you please take me to find Swablu's parents?"
Totodile hesitated for a moment, but finally nodded gently, and then quickly ran into the rain. As a Water-type Pokémon, it could naturally move freely in the rain.
Seeing this, Anjay put the flashlight inside his raincoat and chased after them with Snorlax. His raincoat was transparent, so the flashlight could still illuminate the outside.
The night was pitch black, the rain was pouring down, and a strong wind was blowing, making the empty plateau look particularly terrifying.
Anjay and Snorlax ran across the wet grass, feeling a little scared, especially Snorlax. His short legs were almost spinning like windmills, and he didn't dare to distance himself from his master at all.
"Gang~ Gang~" Master, slow down, it's so scary.
Crossing the grass and bushes, Anjay was led by Totodile to the edge of a cliff. With the flashlight, Anjay saw a large tree lying in a puddle at the bottom of the cliff, with a shattered bird's nest beside it.
Needless to say, this should be Swablu's original home.
The Swablu family's nest had a very special structure, woven from branches and dry grass, like a small house. If it were intact, it would certainly be able to withstand wind and rain.
But alas...
The tree that supported the nest was originally growing halfway up the cliff, but the rain was too heavy, causing part of the cliff to collapse, bringing the tree down with it.
Anjay searched around, but couldn't find Swablu's parents, so he, Snorlax, and Totodile split up and searched further away.
"Altaria!"
"Altaria!"
Anjay shouted loudly in the rainy night, but his voice was affected by the rain and couldn't travel too far.
"Altaria!"
"Altaria!"
In the blink of an eye, an hour had passed. An Jie still hadn't managed to find any trace of the two Tanabata birds. Even though he was wearing a raincoat, and hadn't gotten wet, he couldn't help but feel a slight chill.
"Wani~ Wani~~"
Just then, Totodile came running over, excitedly shouting towards An Jie.
"Totodile, did you find the Tanabata birds?" An Jie asked in surprise.
"Wani~ Wani~"
Totodile nodded repeatedly.
"That's great, let's go."
An Jie followed Totodile and quickly found the Swablu couple.
"Chirp~ Chirp~"
A weak sound came from a clump of bushes. An Jie walked closer and saw the couple huddled inside, drenched, with two large leaves covering them.
But no matter how big the leaves were, how could they possibly keep out the wind and rain?
The Swablu father had already fainted. The mother struggled to lift her head and glanced at An Jie, as if asking how their child was doing.
It was she who had asked Totodile to carry Swablu on its back to find An Jie.
"Don't worry, Swablu is fine!" An Jie told the Swablu mother loudly.
Hearing this, the Swablu mother seemed to breathe a sigh of relief, her head drooping weakly to the ground.
An Jie reached out to hug her, but she used her last bit of strength to try and stop him. She didn't want any help from humans.
An Jie couldn't take it anymore and scolded loudly: "Are you still going to be stubborn at a time like this? You're one thing, but what about the Swablu father? Can you bear to see him freeze? And what about Swablu if something happens to both of you? It's still so young, what will it do?"
Hearing this, the Swablu mother looked at her unconscious husband and finally stopped struggling.
An Jie said to Totodile: "Totodile, could you please help me find Snorlax?" As he spoke, he draped the two extra raincoats he had brought over the Tanabata bird couple.
"Wani~ Wani~"
Totodile nodded and quickly disappeared into the rain again.
Soon, Totodile successfully found Snorlax and brought it back. As soon as Snorlax saw An Jie, it immediately burst into tears and jumped into An Jie's arms.
"Snor~ Snor~~" Master, I was so scared!
When it was searching for the Tanabata bird couple alone, Snorlax had been extremely scared, but in order not to delay the rescue, it had forced itself not to show it.
Now that they had successfully found the Tanabata bird couple, it could finally no longer hold back.
"You've worked hard, let's go home now." An Jie patted Snorlax's back to comfort it.
"Snor~ Snor~~"
Snorlax nodded obediently.
Then, An Jie and Snorlax each carried one of the Tanabata bird parents and ran towards home.
Before leaving, An Jie had wanted to call for Totodile, but when he turned his head, he found that Totodile had already disappeared.
When An Jie and Snorlax brought the Tanabata bird couple home, Diancie was pacing anxiously at the door while holding Swablu.
Seeing the figures of the master and apprentice in the rain, Swablu was the first to call out.
"Chirulu~ Chirulu~~" They're back!
Diancie quickly handed the towels she had prepared in advance to An Jie and Snorlax.
"Let's go inside first." An Jie said, and used the towels with Snorlax to wrap up the couple.
"Chirulu~~ Chirulu~~~"
Swablu looked worriedly at its unconscious parents. Seeing this, An Jie comforted it, "Don't worry, your mom and dad will be fine."
After An Jie and Snorlax put down the Tanabata birds, Diancie helped them take off their raincoats while saying: "Leave the Tanabata birds to me. You two go take a hot shower first to avoid getting sick."
Hearing this, Butterfree on the side also quickly came over to help Diancie. As for the Diglett brothers, since they didn't have hands, they could only watch.
An Jie didn't stand on ceremony and handed the Tanabata bird couple over to Diancie and Butterfree, then immediately took Snorlax to take a shower.
When the master and apprentice finished their shower and came downstairs, they saw that the Tanabata bird couple had already woken up. Diancie had helped them dry their feathers and warmed them with a hairdryer. Their wet feathers had become white and fluffy again.
At this time, the family of three was huddled together, warming each other while eating the food that Diancie had prepared for them.
After suffering through the rainy night, even the stubborn Swablu mother could no longer refuse the food given by An Jie.
Besides, she felt that since she already owed An Jie a favor, what's one more debt?

+200
+200
At this moment, being able to eat a warm mouthful of food was truly an explosion of happiness, so An Jie's happiness points directly increased by 600 points.
Seeing An Jie come down, Swablu immediately flew out happily from between its parents, plunged into An Jie's arms, and thanked An Jie while acting spoiled.
An Jie gently rubbed its feathers and asked: "How do you feel? Does anything hurt?"
"Chirulu~ Chirulu~"
Swablu shook its head. After drying its feathers and eating the warm food, it had completely recovered its strength.
"It's good that you're okay." An Jie said with a smile.
The Tanabata bird father also stood up at this time and frankly thanked An Jie. Although the Tanabata bird mother's expression was still stinky, she finally didn't show any more rejection towards An Jie.
She still had a grateful heart.
"Chirp~ Chirp~~" I will definitely repay this kindness.
Diancie translated the Swablu mother's words to An Jie.
An Jie didn't say much, only nodded and agreed with a smile: "Okay, then I'll wait."
Hearing this, the burden on the Tanabata bird mother's face was immediately lessened a lot.
"You guys continue eating, stay here tonight, don't worry about anything else." An Jie added.
The Swablu father and Swablu nodded at the same time.
After dinner, Diancie prepared rooms for the Swablu family, as well as Butterfree and the Diglett brothers, allowing them to rest. As for An Jie and Snorlax, they still went to the training room to train for 1 hour as usual before going to sleep.
An Jie crawled into the warm bed, just about to turn off the lights and go to sleep when suddenly there was a knock on the door.
"Who is it? Come in."
"Snor~~ Snor~~~" Master, can I sleep with you tonight?
Creak~~ The door opened gently, and Snorlax, wearing a sleeping cap, poked its head in and asked pitifully.
"You want to sleep with me?" An Jie asked.
"Snor~~ Snor~~"
Snorlax nodded repeatedly.
"Okay then, come over quickly."
An Jie agreed readily, patting the spot next to him on the bed.
"Snor~~~"
Snorlax cheered, grabbed its pillow, and ran to An Jie's bed in a flash, nimbly crawling into the covers.
Seeing Snorlax's happy expression, An Jie shook his head with a smile, "Good night, Snorlax."
"Snor~~" Good night, Master.
Snap~~
The light was turned off. An Jie had just laid down when he noticed Snorlax next to him moving closer to him, so he silently extended an arm and placed it on its soft belly. Snorlax took the opportunity to hug it.
"Snore~~ Snore~~~"
Before long, the dark room was filled with Snorlax's reassuring snores.
