#340 - Theodoran's Condition

Chapter 323: Heatran's Conditions

The Volcarona failed its first attack, and launched another assault on Darkrai.

This time, it used Bug Buzz, a Bug-type move that is super effective against Dark-type Pokémon.

The sharp, ear-piercing cries caused the air to vibrate, giving both Darkrai and An Jue splitting headaches.

Darkrai quickly waved its hand, and a Dark Hole formed behind Volcarona, instantly depriving it of its sight, plunging its vision into darkness.

Immediately following this, it fell into a sleep state.

Darkrai had used its signature move, Dark Void.

After Volcarona fell asleep, Darkrai didn't hesitate to use Dark Pulse, a black pillar of energy shooting out and striking Volcarona.

It soared into the sky and began to dance gracefully in the air, its momentum rapidly increasing with each movement.

Volcarona was using Quiver Dance, a stat-boosting move that simultaneously increases the user's Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed.

Seeing this, An Jue commanded Darkrai, "Darkrai, stop it from powering up!"

"Dark~" Darkrai responded, launching a colorful beam of light towards Volcarona with both hands.

It was using Confuse Ray, a move that can inflict confusion on the opponent.

However, Volcarona's movements were very agile as it danced, and it deftly dodged the Confuse Ray with a slight tilt of its body.

Undeterred, Darkrai launched several more Confuse Rays, but they were all dodged.

Finally, after completing three rounds of stat boosts, Volcarona began to counterattack, unleashing Fiery Dance, with countless flames raining down on Darkrai like meteors.

This attack was much more ferocious than the previous Fiery Dance.

Boom boom boom!

Accompanied by explosive sounds, Darkrai was engulfed in raging flames.

Just when Volcarona thought Darkrai had fallen, a black energy pillar burst through the flames, accurately hitting Volcarona.

Volcarona let out a mournful cry and fell back into the volcano crater.

After a period of shaking, the lava inside the volcano crater churned even more violently, with a faint, terrifying roar echoing from within.

The flames in the air gradually dissipated, revealing Darkrai inside, surrounded by a blue light barrier, rendering Volcarona's attack completely ineffective.

Darkrai had used Protect.

Volcarona looked pained, still wanting to fly again, but how could Darkrai give it the chance? It unleashed a Dark Pulse, hitting Volcarona squarely in the chest, finally causing it to collapse after a mournful cry.

At the same time, the volcano began to shake violently due to Darkrai's attack, as if an earthquake was about to occur.

Is it finally coming? An Jue thought.

In An Jue's perception, a wave of energy much stronger than Volcarona's was rapidly rising from the boiling lava.

Almost in the blink of an eye, a Pokémon covered in crimson lava appeared above the volcano crater, stepping on the lava.

It had steel claws on its feet, easily climbing the walls of the volcano crater, reaching the outside in the blink of an eye, and spewing a stream of flames towards Darkrai.

Who else could this Pokémon be but Heatran, the master of the plains and volcanoes?

Heatran used the move Lava Plume.

Darkrai didn't hesitate to use Dark Pulse to counterattack, and the black energy pillar collided with the raging flames.

After a stalemate, Dark Pulse was defeated, and the flames continued forward, instantly engulfing Darkrai.

Originally, Darkrai wanted to use Protect, but unfortunately, it failed.

After a muffled groan, Darkrai crashed to the ground, creating a large pit.

Heatran pressed its attack, raising one of its paws and stomping heavily on the ground, causing countless golden pillars of light to surge towards Darkrai in the pit.

It had used Earth Power.

"Darkrai, dodge it!" An Jue shouted, but it was too late. Darkrai had just taken off when it was engulfed by the golden pillars of light.

After a miserable cry, Darkrai fell to the ground, severely injured.

After defeating Darkrai, Heatran didn't continue to attack An Jue, but raised its head, staring directly at An Jue with its orange-red eyes.

Of course, An Jue was also sizing it up.

Heatran

[Type] Fire, Steel

[Ability] Flash Fire

[Level] 100

[Moves] Omitted

[Individual Values]

HP: 31

Attack: 31

Defense: 31

Special Attack: 31

Special Defense: 31

A Legendary Pokémon with a level as high as 100, no wonder Darkrai couldn't beat it.

After a moment of eye contact, An Jue saw a raging fighting spirit in Heatran's eyes, as if it were saying:

Since you have disturbed my slumber, then be prepared to pay the price!

Without much thought, Latios appeared in the sky at An Jue's summon in the next second.

"Woo~" Looking at the high-spirited Heatran below, Latios's fighting spirit was also aroused, and it raised its head and let out a dragon's roar.

In the next second, the two Pokémon simultaneously launched attacks at each other.

Heatran launched its signature move, Magma Storm, and countless lava and flames turned into a storm sweeping towards the sky, with a mighty momentum, as if the sky was about to be covered.

Latios launched the Electric-type move Thunderbolt, and countless lightning bolts bloomed in the sky like lightning trees, dyeing half the sky golden.

Heatran has too many resistances, and Latios's own type (Dragon and Psychic) moves are not very effective against it, so it can only use non-primary Electric-type moves.

While Latios and Heatran were fighting fiercely, An Jue took the opportunity to recall the unconscious Darkrai with a Poké Ball.

Lightning and Magma Storm collided, and countless electric energies and fireballs fell from the sky like rain.

It's a pity that Latios was slightly inferior in this confrontation. After defeating Thunderbolt, Magma Storm continued to attack Latios.

There was no way around it, any Pokémon would definitely be able to use their own type moves to exert their strength better.

Fortunately, Latios reacted quickly and dodged the attack with a flash of his body.

At this time, An Jue reminded Latios: "Latios, Rain Dance!"

"Woo~~" Latios understood and let out a cry to the sky. Immediately, a large number of dark clouds gathered in the sky, dark and heavy.

In the next second, a torrential downpour poured down.

Latios reveled in the rain like a fish in water, while Heatran was miserable. Raindrops fell on its body and turned into wisps of steam, but quickly disappeared in the heavy rain.

The rain gradually cooled its scorching body.

"Roar!!" The angry Heatran stomped on the ground, and countless thick stone spears rose from the ground, then shot towards the sky.

It's Stone Edge!

"Latios, Weather Ball!" An Jue reminded.

“Woo ~ ~” Latios nodded. A large amount of water surrounded it, eventually turning into a water curtain that swept towards the stone spears, shattering them all.

Weather Ball is a very special move that changes its power and type based on the weather.

In normal weather or turbulent conditions, its type is Normal, and its power is 50.

In sunny or extremely harsh sunlight, its type is Fire, and its power is 100.

In rainy or heavy rain conditions, its type is Water, and its power is 100.

In hail or snow conditions, its type is Ice, and its power is 100.

In sandstorm conditions, its type is Rock, and its power is 100.

In foggy conditions, its type is Normal, and its power is 100.

Furthermore, under Dark Aura, its power is also 100, but it has no type.

The Water type is effective against Heatran, and with the rain weakening Fire-type moves, Heatran's advantage was immediately gone.

“Roar ~ ~”

“Woo ~ ~”

The two Pokémon launched attacks at each other again. Heatran still used Lava Plume, and Latios still used Weather Ball.

Compared to before, the power of Heatran's Lava Plume was greatly reduced, and it no longer had the same imposing presence.

With a violent explosion, Lava Plume was shattered, and Heatran was engulfed by the water curtain.

When Weather Ball ended, Heatran was a mess, with water droplets constantly dripping from its body.

Previously, the heavy rain evaporated instantly upon touching it, but now the water curtain formed by Weather Ball had drenched it.

However, Heatran was clearly not an easy target. It opened its mouth and spat out a ball of light that rose into the sky, activating Sunny Day in an attempt to overwrite the rain.

In fact, it succeeded. The crimson ball of light exploded in the air, instantly breaking through the heavy clouds, and golden sunlight shone down, slowly stopping the rain.

Seeing this, Anjay said to Latios, "Latios, we need to finish this quickly!"

Latios understood the meaning in Anjay's words. After nodding solemnly, its body suddenly radiated a bright, seven-colored light.

In the light, Latios's body underwent a tremendous change.

When the light dissipated, Mega Latios appeared.

Without the slightest hesitation, a faint light flickered in Latios's eyes, and it began to compete with Heatran for control of the weather.

Originally, Latios might not have been able to compete with Heatran, after all, Heatran is a Fire-type Pokémon, while Latios is not a Water-type.

But after Latios Mega Evolved, its abilities greatly increased, and its control over the weather also improved significantly.

Sure enough, as Latios exerted its power, the sky that had already cleared up began to gather dark clouds again, and soon heavy rain began to fall once more.

Seeing that it was losing the weather battle, Heatran gave up and stopped using Fire-type moves, instead launching the Steel-type Iron Head.

A silver beam of light erupted from Heatran's body, shooting straight towards Latios.

Latios naturally refused to be outdone, and also launched Weather Ball, controlling a pillar of water to collide with the silver beam.

Boom! !

After the two moves collided, almost instantly, the pillar of water shattered the silver beam and continued to attack Heatran.

Heatran was engulfed by the flood.

Iron Head was powerful, but it had recoil damage. Coupled with the fact that Heatran had already taken a Weather Ball earlier, and this one on top, it directly lost its ability to fight.

Seeing this, Anjay breathed a sigh of relief.

After being beaten up, it should be easier to talk to, right?

“Ditto, let's go down and take a look.” Anjay patted Ditto's neck and said.

Ditto nodded, flapped its wings and descended towards the volcano crater.

Due to the heavy rain caused by Latios, the temperature of the volcano crater dropped significantly, and it was no longer as scorching as before.

At this time, Latios dispersed the rain and also landed in the volcano crater.

Anjay instructed it: "Latios, please move Volcarona and Heatran together."

“Woo ~” Latios nodded, blue light flashing in its eyes. Heatran and Volcarona were immediately dragged and floated up, then lay side by side.

Anjay then released the unconscious Darkrai and said to Latios again: "Latios, give them each a Heal Pulse."

“Woo ~” Latios nodded, a flash of light in its eyes, and three pink beams of light fell on the three Pokémon respectively.

While Latios was healing them, Anjay took out three bottles of fruit juice milk and fed them.

After a series of actions, Heatran woke up first.

Perhaps because Anjay defeated it, or perhaps because Anjay healed it, its attitude after waking up was fairly friendly, and it did not continue to attack.

“Heatran, my name is Anjay, it's a pleasure to meet you. I apologize for the offense earlier, I hope you can forgive me.” Anjay introduced himself first.

“Heatran ~ Heatran ~” Human, you defeated me, you are qualified to talk to me.

Heatran raised its head, speaking very smugly.

Anjay: . . .

Alright, he's the one asking for help now, so let it be smug!

“Okay, okay, thank you very much for your time.”

“Heatran ~ Heatran ~” What do you want from me?

Heatran glanced at Anjay and asked.

Anjay replied: "I was introduced by Drednaw. I want a piece of land to grow wheat. It said that this place is very suitable, so I wanted to ask about the situation."

“Heatran ~” So it was that little guy, honestly, he's just looking for trouble for me,

Heatran snorted two puffs of smoke from its nose, looking displeased.

Then it said: “Heatran ~ Heatran ~” Why should I let you grow wheat on my territory? I don't agree!

Anjay was not surprised by Heatran's reaction. He said in a negotiating tone: "Let's discuss it, you can make any requests, as long as I can do it."

At this time, Heatran's eyes rolled.

“Heatran ~” Really anything is okay?

Anjay nodded, "Provided I can do it!"

Hearing this, Heatran showed a wicked smile on its face: "A long, long time ago, I heard that skilled human fruit farmers can grow magical fruits, which are said to be incredibly delicious. If you can find me this kind of fruit, I will agree."

Hearing this, Anjay thought: Could Heatran be talking about Mythical Berries?

If so, then it's not a problem for him, he just has to wait for the Tree King at home to bear fruit.

Thinking of this, Anjay readily agreed: "Okay, then it's a deal!"

Anjay's reaction surprised Heatran instead. It is said that this kind of fruit is very rare, and very few humans can grow it.

“Are you sure?”

Anjay nodded, "Sure, do you want to go back on your word? Don't tell me? Are you, a dignified Legendary Pokémon, actually thinking of going back on your word?"

Heatran immediately retorted with a stiff neck: "Who's going back on their word! It's settled then!"
