Gourmet master of the Pokemon world
#71 - The Call of Kodora
After Ange came out, he congratulated Nosepass on its evolution as well.
Standing at the doorway, Ange looked at the heavy rain outside and thought, "This rain probably won't stop anytime soon."
So, he said to the Pokémon, "None of you should go back today. Stay in the employee dormitories of the Secret Fortress."
Anyway, the employee dormitories were originally for these Pokémon to live in.
Then, after thinking for a moment, he added, "Why don't you just move into the employee dormitories permanently? You won't have to move out later."
The Pokémon hesitated upon hearing this. They were currently only considered part-time workers at Ange's home. Would moving into the employee dormitories be taking advantage of Ange?
Seeing their hesitant expressions, Ange said, "I will definitely arrange work for everyone in the future. You're just moving in early. The employee dormitories are empty anyway, so there's no harm in moving in early. At worst, you can work hard to repay me in the future!"
Hearing Ange's words, the Pokémon cheered instantly. In fact, they had long envied the Gardevoir family and the Espurr family!
Immediately, Ange put raincoats on the Pokémon and took them to the second floor via the elevator.
As soon as they arrived at the employee dormitories, the Pokémon enthusiastically began choosing rooms.
The Victreebel family had five members, so they chose a relatively large room.
The Swablu family and the Fletchinder family, being Flying-type Pokémon, had more trouble getting in and out than the other Pokémon, so they each chose a room with an entrance on the roof. They could usually enter and exit the room through the roof entrance.
Moreover, the internal structure of these rooms was simple. Besides having nests for the birds to sleep in, there were also horizontal bars where the Swablu and Fletchinder could play.
Needless to say, these were houses specifically designed for bird-type Pokémon to live in.
The Vivillon and its companions also chose rooms with entrances on the roof, but their rooms were smaller and the internal arrangements were simpler.
The rooms had many shelves with trays in the shape of leaves and flowers on top, where the Vivillon could lie down to sleep and rest.
These rooms were probably designed specifically for butterfly-type or bee-type Pokémon.
Honchkrow, although single and without any Murkrow underlings, still chose a large room. It just liked living in big places.
The two Watchog naturally wanted to live together, so they chose a cozy little house.
Like Floette, Sawsbuck also chose to live alone. It was comfortable to live alone in a room, and it didn't want to live with others.
Delphox, Greninja, and Chesnaught still chose to be neighbors, just like where they lived before.
Delphox and Greninja both lived alone, while Chesnaught brought his child, Chespin.
Chespin was the child of Chesnaught and a Gogoat, but the Gogoat lived with its herd, so the couple was separated and didn't see each other often.
...
After the Pokémon had chosen their residences, Ange used Happiness Points to add some daily necessities and furniture for them, which completely emptied his already meager Happiness Points.
But what is taken from the 'people' should be used for the 'people'.
Looking at the happy and satisfied smiles of the Pokémon, and the closeness in their eyes as they looked at him, he felt that everything was worth it.
Ange couldn't make all the Pokémon in the world live well, but he felt it was very meaningful to make the Pokémon on the Nibel Plateau live a happy life within his capabilities.
After instructing the Pokémon to rest well, Ange left the Secret Fortress.
Everyone would not eat outside for dinner today. Ange gave them all Pokémon food and let them eat in their rooms to avoid having to run back and forth in the heavy rain.
Coming out of the Secret Fortress, Ange jogged home in his raincoat.
But as he was running, he suddenly seemed to hear a Pokémon's cry.
"Lairon~ Lairon~"
Ange subconsciously stopped and looked in the direction of the sound.
However, the heavy rain filled the air with a hazy mist, preventing him from seeing too far. Even that Pokémon cry he had just heard was faint and unclear.
An illusion?
Despite thinking this, Ange still walked in that direction until he reached the edge of the fence.
As he got closer, he finally saw the Pokémon standing outside the fence. It was a Lairon!
Lairon is the evolved form of Aron, but there was only one Aron on the Nibel Plateau, and no Lairon.
The key point was that the Lairon was carrying a completely soaked person in its mouth, who seemed to be unconscious.
Seeing Ange, the Lairon quickly put the person in its mouth down on the ground and anxiously asked Ange for help.
"Lairon~ Lairon~"
Ange quickly climbed over the fence, skillfully carried the person up, and said to the Lairon, "Lairon, come with me."
"Lairon~ Lairon~"
Lairon nodded repeatedly and followed behind Ange with heavy steps.
As soon as he got home, Ange shouted into the house, "Snorlax, Snorlax!"
"Snor~ Snor~"
Snorlax ran out of the kitchen quickly with its short legs. It had already started preparing dinner. Diancie was picking vegetables for it, and Sobble was washing vegetables.
Ange: "Please take care of Lairon! Get a towel to wipe it down and prepare some bath sand for it to take a bath."
Like Diancie, Lairon needed to use bath sand to bathe. It was currently soaking wet, and as a Rock-type Pokémon, it must be very uncomfortable.
Snorlax looked at the unfamiliar Lairon. Although confused, it honestly started busying itself according to Ange's instructions.
Then, Ange looked at the worried Lairon and said to it, "Don't worry, your trainer will be fine."
After saying that, he carried the unconscious person to the second floor, took them into the guest room, filled the bathtub with hot water, and put them in.
Soaking in the hot water, the chill on the person's body gradually dissipated, and they slowly woke up. They had short blue hair, which was plastered tightly to their face because it was wet, making it difficult to see their features clearly.
"Where is this...?" they asked in confusion.
Ange smiled and said to them, "This is my home. Your Lairon brought you to my doorstep for help, so I carried you back."
The person suddenly understood, "Thank you."
"You're welcome." As he spoke, Ange pointed to the clothes at the door and said, "Those are my clothes, they're new. Change into them after you finish showering. We can talk about everything else after you come out. I'll go out first."
The person nodded and watched Ange leave and close the bathroom door.
Ange returned downstairs and saw Snorlax helping Lairon bathe. It had prepared a large basin and filled it with bath sand, burying half of Lairon's body in it.
"Lairon~ Lairon~"
Seeing Ange come out, Lairon quickly called out twice.
"Don't worry, your trainer has already woken up and will be down after showering," Ange said with a smile.
Hearing this, Aron visibly breathed a sigh of relief.
Before long, Aron's trainer finished his shower and came downstairs. Seeing him refreshed, Angie was stunned. He didn't expect him to be such a handsome guy, second only to himself in terms of good looks.
His height and build were similar to Angie's, so Angie's clothes fit him reasonably well. It's just... why does this person look so familiar...?
The man walked up to Angie and sincerely thanked him, "Thank you so much for taking me in, otherwise I would have frozen to death outside!"
This person had walked out of the mountains northwest of the Nibel Plateau. Because he got lost and all his supplies were used up, he was in such a mess.
You need to know that it's freezing cold outside now. Being in the wild without supplies is a fatal thing.
Originally, they could have escaped the severe cold by reaching the Nibel Plateau, but they didn't expect it to be raining here.
Moreover, it was getting dark. If Angie hadn't been living on the Nibel Plateau, they would have been in big trouble.
"You're welcome. When traveling, who doesn't encounter some trouble? I'm glad I could help you," Angie said with a smile.
"Oh, right, I haven't introduced myself yet. My name is Steven Stone. I don't know what to call you, sir?" Aron's trainer introduced himself.
Hearing the name "Steven Stone", Angie was slightly taken aback. Good heavens, no wonder he looked so familiar. This wasn't the Hoenn region's League Champion?
Blue hair, handsome appearance, and an Aron... It all added up!
Angie: "My name is Angie Azoth. You can just call me Angie."
"Azoth?" Hearing Angie's last name, Steven was slightly surprised. "I remember that's the surname of the Azoth Kingdom's royal family."
Angie smiled and said, "I suppose I can be considered a member of the Azoth royal family."
Steven looked suspicious. As far as he knew, the Azoth royal family only had a king, a princess, and a prince. This person didn't match!
Suddenly, Steven thought of a news article he had seen online not long ago, saying that the Azoth royal family had welcomed back a royal member from five hundred years ago, Queen Anna's brother. Could it be this person in front of him?
Although curious, Steven didn't ask too much. After all, he had only just met Angie, and asking too much would be too presumptuous.
Just then, Steven's stomach suddenly growled. He didn't feel embarrassed or awkward, but instead covered his stomach and said with a smile, "I haven't eaten anything all day."
Angie: "If you don't mind, have dinner here with me."
Steven quickly agreed: "Of course I don't mind, I won't stand on ceremony!"
"Oh, right!" Just then, Angie seemed to remember something. He got up and walked to the table, and soon brought a glass of hot water and a few pills, "Take these pills first. You've been freezing outside for so long and got rained on. You'll get sick if you don't take medicine."
Steven gratefully took the medicine and water, swallowed them in one gulp, and then gratefully said to Angie, "Thank you so much, you're so considerate."
Angie waved his hand and said, "You're welcome, it's just a small thing."
Then, the two began to chat, and Steven took over the task of bathing Aron himself, while Snorlax returned to the kitchen to help.
While bathing Aron, Steven exclaimed, "The quality of this bath sand is really good. Where did you buy it?"
Angie: "Exclusively supplied, you can't buy it outside."
Steven looked regretful, "That's a pity, I wanted to buy some."
Angie: "If you like it, I'll give you some later."
Steven looked surprised and happy, "Really? Then I won't be polite!"
At this moment, Diancie walked out of the kitchen with the dishes, "Dinner is ready!"
The moment he saw Diancie, Steven was stunned. His eyes widened and burst out with a look of surprise.
He was immediately attracted by the dazzling diamonds on Diancie's body. The sparkling pink diamonds were like the only star in the night sky, radiant and firmly grabbing his attention, attracting his eyes.
How could there be such a beautiful Pokémon in this world?!
"This is... this is... the legendary Pokémon, Diancie?"
Others might not recognize this Pokémon that only existed in legends, but Steven, as a stone fanatic, had long seen records of this mysterious Pokémon in ancient documents.
Diancie's heart skipped a beat from Steven's burning gaze, thinking: What's wrong with this person? How rude!
Angie nodded and replied, "That's right, it's Diancie."
"I heard that Diancie is a mutation of Carbink, is that true?" Steven asked with great interest.
Angie nodded, "That's right, my Diancie used to be a Carbink."
Hearing this, Steven's eyes lit up, and he grabbed Angie's hand and said excitedly:
"Mr. Angie, please be sure to tell me the method to cultivate a Diancie. As long as you are willing to tell me, I am willing to do anything."
Angie: . . .
"The first step is to sleep with Carbink for five hundred years," Angie replied seriously.
Steven was stunned, "Seriously?"
Angie nodded, "It couldn't be more serious."
Steven immediately looked disappointed and sighed a long sigh, "I knew it wasn't that simple."
However, from the conversation just now, he was also convinced that this person in front of him was the Azoth Kingdom's prince from five hundred years ago.
Otherwise, who has the ability to sleep with a Pokémon for five hundred years?
"Alright, let's eat," Angie said to Steven.
As one dish after another was brought to the table, Steven's eyes were dazzled, "These dishes are..." He had never seen anything like them.
And... it's too fragrant!
Perhaps it was because he was too hungry, but he felt that these foods were excessively fragrant, and his mouth kept secreting saliva.
Angie introduced, "These are all made by my Snorlax and Sobble."
"Snor~"
Snorlax, sitting opposite Steven, waved and greeted Steven.
"Sob~"
Sobble proudly raised his chin.
Steven looked at the two Pokémon in surprise, not expecting them to have this ability. Although he hadn't eaten yet, smelling the aroma and looking at the color, he knew that this meal wouldn't be bad.
The truth was exactly like that. After tasting the braised fish made by Snorlax, he was amazed and shed tears.
Too delicious! Too delicious! What should he do if he can't eat it in the future?
"Can I take your Snorlax and Sobble home?" Steven said, wiping the corners of his eyes.
Of course, he was joking, just simply praising the two Pokémon's cooking skills.
However, Snorlax took it seriously, and grabbed Angie's arm with a nervous expression.
"Snor~ Snor~" No, don't even think about it, I want to be with Master forever!
Saying that, he looked at Steven with a hint of hostility: I really let you eat for nothing, I am something you can't get.
Angie was amused by it, patted the back of its hand and said: "He's praising you, he doesn't really want to take you away, I'm here, no one can take you away!"
Snorlax breathed a sigh of relief, and then slammed the rice in the bowl to calm his shock.
Sobble, on the other hand, heard Steven's words and puffed out his chest even higher, his mouth almost reaching the back of his ears.
Me, amazing! Most amazing!
