Lesson 10: Hate

Four days had passed since the Ethereal Horse woke up.

Ever since he woke up, the Ethereal Horse had taught Shemru and two elderly Zoans, called his wife, who had been introduced to her, the basics and common sense of this world.

First, when I wake up in the morning, I eat with Shemr, and then I can leave it with my grandmother. That's where I can teach myths and the formation of my country from my grandmother. Returning to the tent with Shemr, who will pick you up by the time the sun falls into Jomtien, he then eats and helps Shemr until the sun falls. In the meantime, Shemru teaches the pale horses a few routine habits and contraindications each time. And if the sun goes down, they will sing stories that will be told to the village of Zoan in the tent.

The Ethereal Horse, who also had breakfast with Shemr this morning, had her escorted to the prayer house and had come to learn from her grandmother.

"Grandma. Do it again today. - But you don't have to tell me anything extra like yesterday."

Sending the Ethereal Horse, Shemr, who says he has something to do and returns to the village, said so to his grandmother as she walked away.

"Well, what is it about? I don't really remember if I got bogged down either..."

"This, you fucking bitch! You remember what you don't want, but I'll pretend to be bogged down right away!

The Ethereal Horse had no choice but to laugh bitterly beside the two he said.

Yesterday, the Ethereal Horse was taught by his wife about 'my son'.

"Do you know what" your son "is?

To his grandmother's inquiry, he told her that the Ethereal Horse honestly did not know.

"As I have already taught, there are seven pillars of gods in this world. The gods don't show themselves, but they keep an eye on us all the time."

What surprised me most about being taught about this world was that God exists.

When I said that there was no God in the world I was in, or believed in, but nothing like seeing or listening to me in person, my wife surprised me the other way around.

"Of course, in this world, yes, there's nothing like the gods interfering with us."

The old lady pointed at the queue of ants (like worms) crawling on the ground at the end of the cane.

"Soma, can you distinguish these many bugs one at a time?

Of course, when I said I couldn't do that, my grandmother nodded, "I would be".

"For the gods, the same thing. No matter how many species you worship, you don't care about each and every one of them. Also, even if your race is in distress, you don't easily lend a hand"

The old lady poked and moved the stone that was obstructing the antenna queue and causing it to bypass the queue with a cane. Then, from beneath the moved stone, the bugs, who prefer the damp, rush away.

"You can have helped your own species, but if that bothers other species, it can also be a feud between the gods. For most people, it's not like the gods can do anything."

The old lady stuck the tip of her wand to the forehead of a pale horse.

"But only a few of those exceptions are your son."

Now I'm doing the bowl roll Shemr gave me, but the Ethereal Horse was taught that there was a strange engraving like when it was put on underneath, combining 8 and ∞.

"A Son is someone whom the gods have paid particular attention to and whom they intend to put their eyes on. As a sign of this, the engraving of that God appears somewhere in the body and in many cases is empowered as a grace"

"Where in my world does that interest...?

I didn't think I had anything of interest to others. On my own, I just think of myself as a very mediocre Japanese child.

"That's what God knows, bye. But you said," I think God has an extraordinary interest in hearing your voice when you've fallen into this world. "

"Aura, was it? The name of God who made me your son."

"Not too loud, don't say its name"

The old lady dives into her voice and confirms that there is no one around her.

"Unfortunately, I don't know what kind of goddess Aura is either. However, it is Aura who is the great god of death and destruction, and has probably drawn her into this world."

Aura, the goddess who brought herself into this world.

What exactly did that goddess intend to bring herself into this world?

"If you want to go back to the original world, Aura is all you have to do. Luckily for you, as long as there is an engraving on your forehead, proof that Aura is interested in your forehead. Maybe one day I'll see Aura."

"Can you meet God?

"Sure, bye," the old lady nodded loudly. "It's often in the form of dreams and hallucinations, but it's also possible to interact with God. I'm usually chosen as my 'son' and meet him when I give him grace..."

But I don't have the power to be gracious.

He was a pale horse who had already heard of various forms of grace from his grandmother, none of which seemed ready for him.

"Hmm. It's unusual, but you haven't graced me yet, or maybe I'm a discreet grace in my normal life"

"Do you have such a grace?

"Mm-hmm. For example, you can't use your powers unless you dive into the water with a grace that you can breathe in the water, and that's what you can't find out when you're a grace that won't be a disease you've had in the past"

So you came up with something good, and your wife laughed niggly.

"Yes, yes. Shemr is also the son of the god of the beast."

"Shemr, too, is it?

That was my first ear. As far as the Ethereal Horse knows, she has never seen an engraving on Shemr's body, nor has she ever said that she herself is her son.

"Hmm. When the God of the Beast asked her what grace would be good, she asked her not for strength, but just to watch over her pride. For that reason, instead of being able to be proud of herself, she was blessed to bring disaster to those who defiled her pride."

"Bringing disaster, is it?

"Well, it's not a big deal. If you try to use poison in a duel, you'll accidentally hurt yourself, to that extent. Most importantly, the magnitude of the disaster will increase. Unless you do something bad, it hurts."

It was something neither Ethereal Horse nor his wife knew, but a man who was a squadron captain in the fort where Shemr was imprisoned was smothered to do the same thing.

"Right. Shemr was your son, too."

For the Ethereal Horse today, Shemr is the only one I can count on. Without her, the Ethereal Horse would have drowned so wildly. Shemr says it's a favor, but the Ethereal Horse was the one who couldn't thank her enough.

I was kind of very happy that she and God were the same sons differently.

"Well, well. For later school, you should show Shemr the engraving."

Suddenly, that's what your wife said.

"Engraving, sir?

"Hmm. We Zoan, because it is so hairy, have difficulty understanding the engraving. It's hard to show."

I thought the Ethereal Horse would be. If you do have body hair like Zoan, it will be hard to see the engraving that emerges on your body.

"During the day, Shemr will be busy with a lot of things. At night, when you go to bed, or 'for later school, let me take a closer look at the engraving', you may ask. Look, you're gonna have to ask for it."

The pale horse convinced herself that there was something wrong with the lady pushing slightly in case, but for some reason, she asked Shemr, as she was told.

I don't really want to remind you of that time.

At first, his eyes opened to surprise, and Shemru told him to tell him to turn back directly from the front with the Ethereal Horse after he showed off his facade in front of the Ethereal Horse with a crease on his nose and a puff in his mouth.

"It's Soma. I also know that it is the wisdom of the lady in anyway. But my engraving, right? That, what. Somehow, it's on the breast of the left chest. That's on a night like this, and when I get my bunk ready! Even if you're a man, let me know how I feel when you say, 'Let me take a closer look'. You may not know that, but I'm still your daughter."

Nah, nah.

The Ethereal Horse, who understood that he had said an outrageous thing, had no choice but to apologize even plainly until Shemr's mood was fixed.

Of course, I could not see the real thing, but Shemr was taught that the God of the Beast engraving was "three nail marks".

"See you after noon to pick me up. Until then, wait here."

Shemr, who had finished his mouth with his grandmother, told the Ethereal Horse so, and went down to the village.

As I dropped it off, I noticed my grandmother staring at Niyaniya and this one. It's creepy, so I pulled my body slightly and said, "What's up?," she asked, grinning at her full face, saying:

"How was her breast? That was big, wasn't it?

The Ethereal Horse looked back at the sky.

◆ ◇ ◆ ◇ ◆

The Ethereal Horse worried about what was going on.

When I was being taught by my grandmother, Zoan, the unknown of the Ethereal Horse, asked. The old lady, who told Zoan that "the chief is calling", scolding the Ethereal Horse, apologized to the Ethereal Horse to cut him up in the middle of the conversation, and then went down to the village with him.

At that time, the Ethereal Horse, pushed to avoid going home alone until Shemr picked him up, had no choice but to squash his time alone. But the Ethereal Horse, who had been taught by Shemr and his mother-in-law that this was a sacred prayer place, could not mess around or walk around with what was around it on its own, sparing no time.

I had no choice but to sit on a stone around the outskirts of the prayer house, waiting for Shemr to come.

When the Ethereal Horse was tired of waiting even though he never saw Shemr, the nearby bushes made a sound of stirring.

The Ethereal Horse stands up and guards against whether any animals have even left. I hear the news of people being attacked by bears who hibernated in Japan as they do every year. Not to mention, this is a different world. It is not necessarily that there are no more dangerous animals than bears unknown to the Ethereal Horse.

"...?! Ko, child?

But what came out of the bush were two Zoan children.

The back length is only as good as the waist of a pale horse, with a slightly larger child pulling the hand of a girly child. Probably brothers and sisters. He was wearing clothes like a rough piercing coat.

"Brother, human?

Probably new to humans. The boy asked as he twitched his eyes.

"Ah...... yeah. Human, I think."

I'm not sure about this one, but it's probably fine with the same person.

When the Ethereal Horse answers that, the girl hides on the boy's back.

"Your mother said. Humans are scared. You're making fun of us."

The boy stands as if to cover the girl, and the two back off. He smiled at the boy desperately trying to protect his sister, but he makes a hell of a mistake as he is.

"I wouldn't do that! I'm not gonna be a jerk or anything."

When the Ethereal Horse hurriedly waved his hands and denied, they said, "True? I stare at this one with my upper eye as I say." The Ethereal Horse made a smile, trying to reassure the two of them. At this time, I also remember Shemr pointing out that "showing Zoan his teeth is going to be taken as intimidating".

He had a clumsy Ethereal Horse smile, but it seemed to make sense to the kids. When I found out there was no animosity toward the Ethereal Horse, I came closer this time with things like intrigue.

"Hey, hey, is your brother a good man?

"Uh-huh. Are you a good person? I know you're not a bad person."

"Hey, which one? Which is it?

Reminds me of the children who lived in the house next door. Next year, the boy who said he was going up to elementary school was also connected to the Ethereal Horse because the neighborhood didn't have kids the same age.

I thought that kids, humans and Zoan, even if the world was different, wouldn't change.

"Hey. This brother's not a bad person, so you don't have to use this?

Cold water was sprinkled on the hearts of pale horses staring at their brothers and sisters with serenity.

What the girl took out of her clothes was a dagger suspended from her neck through a string on a patterned head ring. If you look closely, there is a similar string around the boy's neck.

"Yeah. This brother doesn't seem like a bad person"

"Good for you, then."

"Yeah. Good for you."

He was a grinning sibling, but the Ethereal Horse was nervous about their unusual words and behavior. Ask the two gently so as not to irritate them too much.

"Using it, what do you do with it?

As far as speaking to Shemr and his wife, the civilization of this world seems to date from antiquity to the Middle Ages. By then, there were many places where the law was not well controlled, and it was simple violence that dominated such places.

Perhaps these children are also being held daggers to resist when they are exposed to such violence.

Once again, he was a pale horse who felt a difference from modern Japan, but the reality of this world was something more tragic.

"Now put your throat on it before the bad guys catch you," he said.

He said, "If you get caught, you're going to get a very bad look, so do it."

For a while, the Ethereal Horse was speechless.

Are the parents of these children teaching their children to self-determination?

And the Ethereal Horse couldn't believe that these kids took that for granted.

"Zita ~?! Shepoma ~?!"

I heard a voice calling someone in the distance.

"Oh, with your father, it's your mother"

"Hey, hey, hey! Over here!"

Apparently, the parents of the kids were coming looking for you. The kids who find their parents climbing this way are happily waving.

"Zita?! Shepoma?!"

Even though the content of the words is the same, there is a different urgently sounding voice.

I wonder what happened, the Ethereal Horse tilted his neck face-to-face with the children.

Suddenly, severe pain and shock ran on the left cheek of the Ethereal Horse. The pain and shock causes the body to fall to the ground. Eyed in surprise, the Ethereal Horse realized he had been beaten down by a Zoan man who had rushed over.

"You filthy human being! What will you do to our children?"

Zoan's eyes looking down at the Ethereal Horse were burning with anger and hatred.

The children who were surprised by his father's sword screen cried out loud as if they had caught fire with tears in their eyes.

"Zita, Shepoma! Were you ok?!"

A Zoan woman, supposedly a mother, hugs such children and pulls them away from the Ethereal Horse.

"You humans don't just take the land and the house from us, you even take the children?! You monsters who shit at the bottom of this hell! I'll kill you!!"

Zoan's man pulled a mountain knife out of his waist.

For the first time in his life, the body of the Ethereal Horse shook up to genuine anger, hatred and willingness to kill him.

Getting killed?!

Why? I didn't do anything wrong, why?! Why?! Why?!

To fear and confusion, my brain boils in my skull. I can only follow with my eyes the movement of the mountain knife that Zoan shook up, without being able to scream or cry for help.

The blade of a heavily shaken mountain knife gleams.

Die?!

A mountain knife that is dropped in the brain weather of a pale horse.

"Stop!!"

It was Shemr who finally came to stop it with a single hair.

Shemr walked over to his brothers and sisters sobbing in slow footsteps, stopping Zoan with a tight eye while still wielding his mountain knife.

"Don't cry, Zita. You're my brother, so you can't protect my sister if you don't hold on. Don't let Shepoma cry too hard on your mother."

When Shemr gently told him so, his siblings were still squeaking, but he stopped crying. Saying those two heads were "great," why did you do it?

"Zita, Shepoma. Did that person do something to you?

When Shemr, kneeling on one knee to match their gaze, gently asks, it is time for them to shake their necks wide, left and right.

"I was just talking to your brother"

"Yeah. I was just talking to you"

"Right," Shemru snapped small, stroking the hair of the two heads around Gushagusha again, then looking back at Zoan's man, who pulled out the mountain knife.

"That's what I'm saying. The man has done nothing."

"But, you son! This guy is human!

He was a Zoan man who argued yes, but even though Shemr put his open right hand to his left chest, there was a surprise from a mother who was holding all the men or the children.

"The man is my benefactor. Please, I want you to miss it."

For Zoan, this method of putting his hand on his left chest is a gesture that means "putting this heart on". That's not as formal as the "lifetime favor" of modern Japan. If the heart is truly demanded, the heart must be rehearsed on the spot. If I can't do that, I can't help being treated like a coward for the rest of my life. As such, it is a gesture that is only used when it is so important.

I couldn't have stayed so far behind by my son. The man took his wife and children down to the village, scouring the pale horse to the end.

Shemr, who was dropping off their hindsight, reaches out to the Ethereal Horse, who is still down, when he leaks a small sigh.

"That was a disaster, Soma. But don't feel bad."

He was a pale horse who took Shemr's hand and stood up, but his earlier fears swept back and held his body trembling into small pieces himself.

The Ethereal Horse thought back as she closed her eyes for a long time and waited for fear to pass.

The Ethereal Horse also noticed that the Zoans in the village had different eyes to look at themselves. But I took it personally that it was to such an extent that we hated different species than ourselves.

But Zoan's anger and hatred earlier was nothing like that.

"Hey, Shemr. What do humans and Zoan have? Why do you hate me so much?

To the Ethereal Horse who asks so, Shemr shrugged his face. She was still a pale horse with a hard to understand look on Zoan's face, but still found out she looked sad.

"If it's true, I was going to let you know a little more about this world before I tell you, but I guess this is a good opportunity too. - Follow me, Soma."

That said, Shemr walked out into the mountains, not the village.

"Let me tell you about Zoan and man in this world"
