Lesson 60: Chai
The first to notice the position built at the foot of the northern mountain was an officer riding horseback in the vanguard of the Crusaders. The officer immediately calls the commanding officer and sends him to Darius.
The conductor pulled a horse over Darius's chariot as he ran his horse with a skillful handrail judgment.
"My Lord Darius! North of the street, at the foot of the mountain (at the foot), we have confirmed what appears to be a rebel force! Instructions!
"Hmm..."
Darius' whining when he heard the report of the decree sounded amusing.
"All units shut down!
At Darius's direction, one of the soldiers he was riding with beats the big drum he has on the back of his tank. As more and more bitter drums of intestinal shaking sound, the troop leaders scream at the soldiers to stop there.
Still, it took awhile for seven thousand crusaders to stop.
In the meantime, new information arrives under Darius.
"A position is being built at the foot of the mountain! In it, we have confirmed the appearance of Zoan and others! Make no mistake about the traitors!
The voice had also reached Marius' ear, which Darius had refrained from near the chariot on which he would ride. Marius cannot hide his surprise even though he is in exactly the same situation as the measures Darius spoke of last night.
Rising from his chair with a giddy sound, Darius sees the enemy formation built at the foot of the mountain, peering slightly from between the spears and flags the soldiers can erect.
"I see. Is that it..."
Darius shook his right arm wide aside.
"Notify all troops! That's it for today's march! Start preparing your own camp!
The missionaries, who were nearby, run horses to tell it to all the armies, at best reciting Darius' words.
"Cadmos! Cadmos stay!?"
To Darius's call came a magnificent officer with a green room showing the regimental leader on his helmet to tank his horse.
"Ha! In front of His Excellency!
"From among the cavalry, pick out whomsoever you wish, and send them out as scouts to the enemy and to the city of Bornis. And don't fail to monitor enemy positions and alert your surroundings. I don't think they're attacking us now, but just be wary of surprise attacks by Zoan."
"Yes!"
Without even looking at the captain of the Cadmos regiment running away on horses, Darius stares at the enemy formation.
Its eyes were shining with anticipation and excitement, as if it were a child staring at the lights of a festival celebrating the harvest.
"Do you want me to fight without running to the plains? Oh, my God, you're entertaining me."
◆ ◇ ◆ ◇ ◆
Zoog spoke to Garam, who was making a maverick with his hands and watching the crusaders.
"What do you say? Are you going to attack me?
And Garam answers softly, staring at his enemies.
"Shut up. If you want to know, see for yourself"
"Let's have no choice. I'm having a hard time with one eye because of someone else."
To Zoog, who shrugs his shoulders small and answers in a relaxed tone, Gallum says, "Though you deserve it".
Said the Ethereal Horse, who broke in between the two who started paying for their disgust.
"It would be helpful if you could explain it to me, too."
The Ethereal Horse is never a bad eye either, but from here on out the Crusaders look just like a chunk of sesame grain. I couldn't even see what I was doing.
In contrast, the Zoans, who lived on the plains, all have good eyes. Some African tribes, who live hunting on similar vast plains, say they can find artificial satellites that fly far above them even during the day, but it would be the same.
Gallum reluctantly opens his mouth to Zug, who laughs at Niyaniya next to the Ethereal Horse and awaits an explanation of the situation, looking so disgusted.
"I'm stopping walking. Guys, you're gathering in the van. Put something down from the luggage car... is that a tent? And then it looks like a bag and a pot..."
"What. Are you off there today?
Zoog says as disappointed.
"The soldiers must also be exhausted by the long march."
The Ethereal Horse remembered a war book he once read.
In many works, we see the development of night raids on enemy camps that have just arrived on the battlefield, with great results. I told my military-manial friend that I wish I had just attacked him without giving him a gap to make such a night raid, and he said:
"Put on your heavy gear and walk all day long. That would be a mess. Not really, but I had to give it a rest for a few days."
I see, and it is satisfactory. Regardless of the officers riding horses and tanks, the fatigue of the infantry who have been walked long distances with heavy equipment on would be enormous. If you're in a camp full of exhausted, unidentified, sleeping soldiers, raiding it should make a huge difference.
Explaining so, a bloody Jaharn Gill jumped right at it.
"Then raid over there?
But Gallum denies it.
"You should stop. I'll be careful about that."
"Then the battle is after tomorrow?
In sight, the pale horse grinned bitterly at Jaharn Gill, whose tail tip dripped soggily.
"I think so. - But you won't be able to stay long over there, will you? I don't know how tired the soldiers can be in just one day, but as early as tomorrow. No matter how late it is, I think it will be a fight in a few days"
◆ ◇ ◆ ◇ ◆
In the middle of the crusader camp, in a large tent, there were officers and conductors who would keep each unit, including Darius.
Where everyone's face is, Darius gently waves his wrist like he says, "Get started." Then the soldier, who had first gone to the enemy position to scout, stepped forward and raised his voice.
"We will report you! A formation was built to carry the mountain, where numerous figures such as Zoan and Dwarf were seen."
Darius nods one and then raises the question.
"What was the position ready for?
"As far as I can tell, they dig trenches around them, build dirt on their soil, and put up fences."
To that answer, Darius clapped himself out.
"Doesn't look as robust as Dwarf made it."
When he attacked Dwarf's settlement, which was once in the mountainous area around here, he was forced to lick the bitter juice by a fortress (horn) that he had built across many steps in the hillside. Compared to the Dwarf settlement then, that degree of position is a good place to be round naked as well.
Still, however, it is a strong position for making it in a short time. Let's just say the Dwarves. Besides, let them think it's easy to attack, and not necessarily without cleverly hidden traps.
"How many enemies were there?
"Ha! The total number of enemies was roughly one thousand and five hundred"
To the answer, Darius thought it was strange.
Analyzing the information that had been grasped beforehand, the number of rebels stomped between a thousand and a thousand and five hundred. Reports of scouts indicate that the number of people close to the ceiling envisaged by Darius will be entering that position.
But then the number of soldiers you can break into ambushes is almost gone.
"... are there no ambushes?
Such an idiot, I think.
Do you think you can handle seven thousand crusaders on that level of position?
You had reinforcements you didn't know about? It was also a force of Zoan who was opportunistic in the plains, and that finally raised even the heavy hips?
No, if we had such a force, it would be hard to believe that we would move at a time when our own crusaders would push us. They will determine their own trends in fighting the Crusaders (sorry) before making a decision.
So what the hell is the leader of the rebels thinking?
Darius thinks often as he grinds his beard.
Just there came a report of a soldier returning to Bornis who was sending him to scout. The soldier immediately passed to the tent greets him there and is rushed to report to Darius.
"The city gates of Bornis are open. As far as I can tell, there's no sign of Zoan or the slaves."
To the soldier's report, the officers gathered in the tent looked at each other.
"What the hell is this all about?
"Then isn't it like you're telling me to take back the city"
"Didn't you loot the city and give up?
But I don't see any sign of that.
Their assumption was that the rebellious slaves would free the city of Bornis.
Yet it is something we have not even imagined that the city we are supposed to liberate is left defenceless. If this is after being plundered and set ablaze, then it is still convincing. But as far as the city could see, there were no signs of great destruction, so neither was their perplexity compelling.
"If you didn't see the enemy, didn't you go into the city?
I didn't see any enemies in the city, so if it's over, there's no point in putting them out on reconnaissance. In a blameworthy tone of Darius, the soldier replies with his spine stretched out.
"Ha! That's what I thought. I tried to get close to the city, and I found something suspicious on the city wall, and I thought it was dangerous to approach it inadvertently, and I turned back"
"Something suspicious? Say it more precisely."
"Yes, it was far-sighted, so I'm not sure -" I said the following words once separated here. - It's probably a pile of wood.
In the tent, a small twist occurs.
"Wood? You said it was a pile of wood?
"Why would something like that...?
A word broke out of the officers twisting their necks.
"What if, in preparation for a fire attack...?
And from the mouth of the other officers, "Ah," a small, surprising voice rises.
"Right! Didn't they wrap the crusaders in fire and burn them to death?"
"I see. You're going to use the same hand again to burn us down from city to city!
"We were licked too! Think those same hands will work again and again!
"But now you can't attack the city if it's empty."
"Ri, Ri"
Suddenly a loud laugh arose as the officers, excited to see through the foe's vicious (Akuratsu) measures, muttered mockery and frustration at the rebels.
"Lord Darius?
"My lord, how is it done...?
It was Darius who laughed.
Darius shook his mustache, pressing his back against the back of the chair he was sitting in, glancing and laughing.
Everyone gets flabbergasted by this burgeoning action of Darius.
To such officers, Darius said, shaking his shoulders slightly with a laughing aftertaste.
"Don't do it, rebel leader"
The officers face to face. I didn't know why Darius praised the enemy when he said he had just seen through the measures of the rebels now.
One officer never wills, asks Darius about it.
"My lord, what the hell does that mean...?
Darius looked over at the officers lined up in the tent. That alone creates tension within the tent, like a tickle of static electricity running on your skin.
"Not ready for a fire attack"
Darius affirmed, in a painful voice.
"The mountain of wood will probably be just one placed on the city wall"
"Oh my...!?"
To the surprised officers, Darius explains.
"If you intend to burn down our armies from city to city, you will have the spark ready for it. Oil, firewood, etc. must be placed in key parts of the city, not just on the city walls.
The people of the city already know that the Zoans burned and killed the crusaders who attacked the mountains. Yet very few inhabitants flee the city, even though they cannot see the slaves, and the city gates are open.
I mean, I'm not ready for those kinds of fire attacks. "
Darius said the best.
But then I don't know what it means to have firewood placed on the city wall.
"But, my lord. The mountain of wood on the city wall, what the hell...?
In questioning the officer, Darius smiles bitterly.
"Don't you think Oodle has already given the answer?"
Without knowing what the words mean, I said, "Huh?," Darius continued his words by whispering his nose to the officers who raised their minded voices.
"Afraid of fire, he said he couldn't easily attack the city."
To the words, the officers shall be decent.
"He's funny. Protect and show the city from our armies in one pile of wood!
Again Darius, shaking his beard and laughing out.
Conversely, the officers, finally realizing they were stunningly into enemy measures, turned their faces bright red and went mad.
"Me! You mean that!
"Cock us up! If this happens, we'll get the city back and show them what we can do."
One voice after another agrees to it.
But Darius did not answer instantly.
Darius affirmed that there would be no fire attack, because that is in front of the officers.
First of all, eighty-nine, I don't think it's coming off, but I can't say enough that there isn't one of the ten.
For example, let me dare show you just one pile of wood and think it's a disguise, and put it behind me. Or if you don't go into the city looking at a pile of wood. If you enter the city, it is then that the inhabitants may be prepared to burn it down from city to city with a spark prepared to be unnoticed.
Until earlier, I was wondering if it would also be a hand to form a separate task force to control Bornis while he was in charge of the rebels in the main unit.
But in case you're ready to fire, that separate squad will be wiped out.
Maybe burning the city for each separate squad, thereby upsetting the soldiers in the main squad and following them in there is also what the rebels do.
Then should we beat the enemy's squad before we reclaim the city where the anxiety element is?
Even if a trap was set in the city, it doesn't make sense if you smash the enemy's main unit.
Not to mention that there are fewer than two thousand enemies against seven thousand or more soldiers here. If you fight normally, you won't find any losing elements or anything else anywhere.
But that's why Darius got lost.
If you look at the movements of the rebels so far, there is no way that those who command them will not realize the extent of it. With that in mind, we're putting up a position over there and provoking this one.
I think there is something, but I don't know what it is.
There is anxiety that if you attack as the enemy thinks you will receive a hell of a cliché.
I also thought I'd wait a while to see how things went.
But if you look at the faces of the officers in line, that's unlikely to be possible.
A strong fort, with all the armies, is the only position that could be crushed with a single leg. If you hesitate to attack ahead to that extent, it will also affect the morale of all armies.
Besides, it's not free to maintain this crusader army. Of course, food for 7,000 people, horse and dragon bait that tows a luggage truck to carry it, are eating up surprising amounts of money just to be there. It is true that we want to end it as soon as possible if we can.
And the problem with that, too, was the ecclesiastical service cleric, beside herself, poking out her plenty of fat bellies and looking great.
"What are you lost, my lord! Now, you're going to succeed in defeating that nasty subhuman race and the man you call its leader!
This military cleric, who named himself Mirdas, said he was in the city of Bornis when, according to his own valve, he was subjected to the rebellion of Zoan. Luckily he had escaped the ordeal and turned himself to the church in the city of L'Oma, but during that time he also thought of the city of Bornis, occupied by the filthy subhumanity, and said he was scorching himself in his righteousness. That's where I heard the Crusaders were coming to free the city of Bornis, and I asked Darius to see if his faith would help.
"Keep an eye on the inhabitants with their beastly sharp eyes, and if you defy them at all, they will be mercilessly killed. From such a terrible city of Bornis, it is nothing more than the protection of the human God that I have been able to escape without one wound! Forgive me for my service in order to share this extra blessing with the warriors of the Crusades!
You take it for granted, you don't even say hello to Darius in time, and Mirdas tells him to just soak up his point.
At this time, behind it, Marius, furiously enraged by Mirdas' disrespectful demeanor, was laying his hands on the pattern of the sword. If Darius had faintly floated his hand and stopped Marius even slightly too late, Mirdas' neck would have danced through the universe.
"My lord! If I were here, I wouldn't be afraid enough of the subhumans or anything else! Oh, great human god! God bless the Holmeer warriors who are faithful to you!
Now Darius had nothing but contempt for Mirdas, who offered prayer in a disgusting voice without realizing he was dying in danger.
He says it was God's blessing to escape from the city of Bornis, but Darius knew from the merchants who had already fled the city in the same way that the rebels had allowed the inhabitants to exit the city instead of holding them back with power.
I guess this cleric who says Mirdas also took off his crazy cleric clothes and ran away from Kosovo and the city, dispersed among the inhabitants. God's blessing makes me shy.
Darius, a thorough realism to it, does not put God's blessing on the battle.
But it is also true that we cannot ridicule ecclesiastical authority.
If we are going to try to boost our national power by exploring the Sorbiant plains, our neighbour Romanian will necessarily come forward with an export. If then the clergy of the Holy Church were to be served in the Sorbiant plain domination, this pioneering would be one ingredient to insist that it be done by the consent of the human God.
What a silly story as Darius, but this is one politics, one diplomacy.
Some of those thoughts, Darius had admitted to serving, but Mirdas also had thoughts in Mirdas.
Mirdas' thoughts are revenge.
Good thing Mirdas, who got the head of the cult, was about to go up to the Holy Capital, the episcopal center with it. The merchants of Jeboa took the ship to the Imperial Realm, and they took gold from the faithful, wrapped it in the name of pure goods, and came into the rebellion of Zoan on the arrowheads that tried to leave the city.
Mirdas also knows what the ecclesiastical clergy will see if they are caught by subhumans.
Immediately Mirdas wore only expensive ornaments and deliberately grabbed a muddy coat from above when he threw away without hesitation cleric clothes and holy marks and statues indicating that he was a cleric of the Holy See. And he hissed himself in the alley with a neck kettle containing the neck of a dear cult chief.
After a while, when the city settled down, the stupid sub-humans heard stories about allowing residents to leave the city. Just in case, I've observed who leaves near the gate and the corresponding subhuman condition, but there's also no sign I'm trying to find a ecclesiastical cleric. With this, it seemed easy to escape from the city if you pretended to be a lowly people.
But the problem is, the neck kettle.
Residents are supposedly free to take out their household belongings and other property when they leave the city, but they don't bring out anything suspicious at the gate, or about an easy customs impersonation. There's no way I can go about this with a person's head in such a place.
Then I even thought about sneaking down a rope from the city wall at night and running away with only my neck, but it's a hell of a story to walk on your own feet to the next city.
But if I hadn't escaped as soon as possible, my life would have been in danger. Forget the enthusiasm you put in charge of your ride, and don't know when you won't be exposed from the dwarf slaves who got away with the noise.
When Mirdas, weeping, buried his neck pot in the roots of a tree in the corner of the city and hid it, he was given a ride by a merchant's carriage leaving the city, and fled to the city of L'Oma.
In retrospect of a series of events, hatred boiled down in Mirdas' chest.
It was all because of the filthy subhumans who delayed going to the Holy Capital where the glorious future awaits, who had to flee even imitating themselves, the ecclesiastical clerics, when the merchants saw their feet and wound up most of the hardware when they gave them a carriage out of the city.
No, more unforgivable was that son of Aura, who led those subhumans!
When I thought of the face of Aura's son walking through the city with his filthy subhuman face, which I saw when I was fleeing the city, Mirdas shouted in his chest.
The beginning of Kechi in the first place began with the son of Aura. It's his fault for the delay in leaving the fort, and it's his fault that Zoan, who should have been exterminated so much, took control of the city the other way around.
Guys, guys, it's his fault! If we don't salt your neck and offer it to the Holy City along with the neck of the evil leader, the abomination that boils down in these breasts will not come to rest.
Whatever you do, I'll kill those sub-humans and Aura's son!
So determined, Mirdas stirred up the officers with his eyes running blood.
"O brave men of Holmea! Now is the time to express faith in God! The brave man who showed his faith in this battle, let this Mirdas glorify his name in the Cathedral of the Holy Capital!
It is a supreme honor for the warriors to make their names widely known in the world. Not to mention that if it also becomes a sacred capital that is not an exaggeration to say that it is the heart of the continent, there is nothing better than this.
Some officers who had been asked every time this had happened had been completely burned.
I'm still waiting for Darius' decision with a glitzy, fat eye, just like Mirdas' madness was infected.
Darius squeaks in his chest, unavoidably.
"It's not too late to free the city after beating down the rebels"
I really can't afford to be looking into whether the city is ready for a fire attack. Then it's more certain to slap the enemy squad in front of you than to dare risk it.
"First, slap the rebels with all the armies!
In the tent, a sigh filled with joy and excitement.
"Cadmos! Judius!"
Called names, two regimental commanders rise.
"Deposit a regiment of heavy-duty spear infantry in both names. Ravage the enemy from the front!
"" As Your Excellency wishes!
"Deposit a battalion of infantry in both Gaudius and Bluffs names. Defend the sides of the Heavy Spear Infantry Regiment!
"" Sincerely, sir!
"Boosis! I will deposit a battalion of infantry with your lord. Threaten enemy positions over the left wing and cover the main unit!
"I understand!
"Cassius! Deposit a battalion of archers with your lord. Open the end of the battle, but good!
"Leave it to me!
Darius slowly lifts his hips out of his chair.
It was as if a giant lion would rise.
"My main unit will be positioned behind the heavy spear infantry regiment to prepare for the Zoan ambush!
And Darius thrust his right arm up into heaven.
"Tomorrow! Dye this earth red with the blood of the rebels!!"
