Happy Valentine's Day, Sweetheart

Chapter 3:Happy Valentine's Day, sweetheart

The next morning

She stirred the hot cocoa slowly before noticed him already sitting on the chair.

"Why me? Why not Lulu?" she asked slowly.

She was shocked to wake up next to him with both of them naked. She tried to remember what happened last night but all she remembered was dancing with him in the club.

"Why can't you?" he asked her back as he grabbed one sausage from the plate.

She did not answer. Her mind was confused right now. Why he brought her home instead of Lulu? Wasn't Lulu his girlfriend now?

"How long will you stir the cocoa?" he asked suddenly with his finger pointed to the drink.

She looked down and sighed. She finally sat down on the chair and sipped her drink slowly.

"Are you alright?" he asked worriedly.

She sighed again. Was she alright? She herself did not have the answer.

He stood up and approached her. Without warning, he pulled her to him and hugged her tightly. She gasped in shock.

"You know you can share everything with me," he said gently.

She laid her head on his shoulder. Her heart was blooming to hear his words but she was still confused with his attitude.

"Vic…" she called.

"Hmm…?"

She pulled herself from him and sat back on her chair. He did the same, pulling his chair closer to her and sat on it.

"Aren't you with Lulu back? I thought both of you were dancing together last night," she chocked out, unconsciously holding her breath nervously.

He chuckled.

"She was dumped yesterday and wanted to come back to me," he explained.

"Oh…" she chocked out sadly, feeling her heart shattering into tiny little pieces.

"But I declined. I don't want to be with her back," he added with the smile on his handsome face.

"But… why? I thought you still love her. You keep on moaning her name when we… you know…" she chocked out in shock.

"I did?" he asked her back and she nodded her head slowly, sadly.

"Sorry…" he reached for her hand and rubbed it gently to show how sorry he was.

"It's okay. We're friends, right, best friends," she tried to show her cheerful expression but she knew it was so fake in her emotion right now.

"I think better I go now. I don't want my parents to know I went out last night," she said and stood up.

"Sharon, wait," he called and grabbed her hand to pull her to him.

"What is it, Vic?" she asked, trying not to cry in front of him.

"Do you know what day is today?" he asked, rather impatiently.

"I know. Valen…"

Her eyes widened to feel his lips against hers. Slowly she closed her eyes as she replied back his kiss.

"Happy Valentine's Day, Sharon," he whispered breathlessly after the kiss.

She looked at him, could not believe her ears at all. Did he just say…

"I know I have been hurting your feeling when I took you as her substitute but I don't know… suddenly I feel like the feeling I have on her is no longer there. I have feeling on you instead so I hope today we can be official," he said hurriedly as he reached into his pocket and showed the velvet box to her.

Her jaw dropped to see the content. She looked at him in touch but did not know how to answer.

"Will you be my girlfriend now, Sharon?" he asked nervously.

She covered her lips to stop herself from crying. Was this real? He was not joking around, right?

"Are you going to look at me without saying anything?" he asked.

She brushed the tears from her cheeks and nodded her head shyly.

"Perfect," he said, making her cheeks turned redder now.

"Is this real, Vic?" she asked slowly with her hand touching the love pendant.

"Yeah," he answered.

"But… why today?" she asked as she looked at him.

He spun her around and pulled her to rest her back against his front with his arms wrapped around her waist.

"Because today is exactly a year after you lost your first time to me and I don't want you to remember today as that kind of day and want today to be a very special day for both of us," he explained.

She sighed blissfully. Indeed today was special. He loved her too. He shared the same feeling as she has.

"Vic…"

"Hmm…?"

"Happy Valentine's Day."

He chuckled.

"Happy Valentine's Day to you too, sweetheart," he said romantically and she blushed even more.

"After this, you go change into something comfortable and then we will start our first day being a couple by dating," he said

She nodded but did not move from his comfort embrace. This was indeed the best day of her life and she wished this day would never end.
