"What?" Mr. Granger stared blankly at his hands, at his wife, at Hermione. He looked at me angrily.

"Do you want to hit me? Shoot? Stab? Try it."

Mr. Granger, however, only puffed angrily, and after a few moments, he calmed down.

"Now I know what I have to prepare for. I just need to prevent the wizard from getting his wand."

"Yeah? You know, I showed the option of direct interaction and silent elimination. But you can do it this way."

When I waved my wand as if unwinding a lasso, I heard Rowena's voice in my head, "Pyromaniac," and I said:

"Fiendfyre."

A tail of purple flame followed the tip of the wand. I put the wand behind my back, and with a whipping motion, as if I was controlling a whip, I swung forward, sending the whip of fire from the wand forward. That whip grew incredibly fast, and the wave that was at its end flew inexorably forward. A second and a thin bundle of crimson flame from the base of the wand traveled two dozen meters, turning into a huge roaring stream. It pounced on the trees like a snake, instantly burning them with a wild crunch and crack, spreading waves of heat and flame. Three seconds and a torrent of fire destroyed everything on several hundred acres of land. Only after that did I, with some difficulty, make the fire disappear, as if it had never existed. In place of the trees, there was only scorched, smoking earth with rare tongues of rapidly extinguishing ordinary fire on it.

"The police will certainly help here," I nodded, looking at Hermione's pale and shocked parents. "Now, I will take you back to your home where you can sit and think."

Approaching, I took their hands. Mrs. Granger twitched a little, but Hermione, who also took her hand, positively affected their state of mind.

"Rursus Portus."

It was as if the world spun and blurred, but no unnecessary impact - good, after all, portals I make.

We were back in the kitchen of the Granger house. Hermione's parents looked around lostly, and after a dozen seconds, they pulled out a bottle of scotch and started emptying it rather quickly.

Hermione pulled me aside a little.

"It was cruel. But I didn't know how to explain the danger to them myself," the girl said quietly, bowing her head a little.

"And yet," I put my arms around her, kissing her forehead and inhaling the scent of some floral shampoo. "I would like to apologize. It was rough, but it's Moody-therapy. Works great."

"It worked on me, too. I've never seen anything so... destructive."

"What about Protego Diabolica?"

"It was somewhere out there, far away, on the screen. And this was in front of my face. The heat of that flame seemed to burn me, but it wasn't even close. And that hum. The sound. The images inside the fire..."

"This is the Infernal Flame. That's what it's supposed to be."

Back at the table, I looked at Hermione's slightly tipsy parents.

"And it's not the most destructive yet, but it's the most spectacular. For those who like fire," I told them my point of view in an even voice. "There are other, far more destructive spells. And some are not spectacular at all, dull, but like a scalpel - a pinpoint and powerful blow. And most importantly, please understand and remember - I haven't even graduated from high school yet. Need I say what adult wizards with libraries of ancient secrets are capable of? You are in a real risk group in the current situation. Hermione and I would feel safer if you were away from the events to come. My foster parents will be leaving for the US by September. Probably sooner if the situation changes."

"What about you?" asked Mrs. Granger quietly.

"We are relatively safe at school, except for the tricks of other students. But we're on equal footing there. I should probably go. I won't distract you anymore. I hope we all make the right decision."

After bowing out, he left the house. How complicated everything is, but at the same time simple.
